What challenge were you trying to address with WP Pals?

WP Pals helped us with web development. My granddaughter passed away from brain cancer, so we wanted to create a website about her and our charity.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, I provided WP Pals with some materials, and they put the site together, using JavaScript and PHP to develop it. This website is about brain tumor awareness in children. It has a section for businesses that do charity events for us, a section for comments, and a feature that allows users to make donations.

We worked with two teammates from WP Pals, including the project manager and a developer.

How did you come to work with WP Pals?

One of the trustees had done some research on Facebook and seen WP Pals’ reviews. We got in touch with them, and they were genuinely interested in the charity, so we decided to go with them.

We spend around $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them on this project from October–December 2022. However, we’re still working with them on maintaining the website.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website WP Pals delivered is very lovely. The day it went live, it was featured in the media. Since we launched it, we’ve seen various donations coming through it.

How did WP Pals perform from a project management standpoint?

WP Pals was very responsive, and our communication was amazing. I could access the project manager or the developer directly, and they always responded immediately. For communication, we used email, WhatsApp, and Zoom.

WP Pals’ services couldn’t have been better — they were first class.

There was nothing WP Pals needed to do differently.

WP Pals developed my company’s website from scratch using WordPress. I initially showed them other websites from similar companies to use as a model. We shared pictures and information about our company, and WP Pals learned about our specific breeding type.

Then, WP Pals developed and adjusted our site as necessary. On our site, users can fill out an application to buy a puppy and use PayPal to put in a deposit. They can also see the dam and sire of the expected litter and the puppies as they grow.

I found WP Pals through an online search. I chose them because Aaron was friendly to me and agreed to develop the site from scratch.

We worked with WP Pals for around six months, starting in September 2021.

WP Pals developed a functional site and fixed any problems that arose. 

How did WP Pals perform from a project management standpoint?

WP Pals met deadlines and stayed on budget. We communicated through emails, phone calls, Slack, and Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with WP Pals’ willingness to meet our expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve had some language barriers that were challenging. Other than that, I can’t think of anything for WP Pals to improve.

I’m the owner of Ishtar Cosmetics LLC, a cosmetics company. We provide beauty products to stores, online retailers, and international wholesalers.

We wanted to enhance our existing website to represent our services properly.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

WP Pals helped us design our website and logo from scratch, starting from research they did on our business story. We had initial meetings where they proposed design options for us and then proceeded with the logo design, website research, and the website’s design and development. To jumpstart the process, we also gave them a brief on what we wanted so they could have input on our goals with this project.

Regarding functionalities, the site allows users to use our built-in wholesale application to log in, fill in their needs, and send that to us. Users can also put their contact information, which automatically adds to a Google document we can consult at any time.

We’re now going to the website’s marketing phase.

We’ve been working with three members of their team, including their general manager, a project manager, and someone from their marketing department.

I went through a two-week-long research process and found 3–4 different providers, but we chose WP Pals based on their Clutch references, the number of good reviews, and their pricing.

So far, we’ve spent $7,000 with them.

We started working together in August 2022, and the engagement is still ongoing.

We’ve just launched our site, but I can say that I’m satisfied with WP Pals’ work so far.

How did WP Pals perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve delivered everything on time and within budget and are also responsive to my needs. We use Zoom, emails, and phone calls regarding tools and communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication and ability to adapt to our needs are their best attributes. I can be open with them and share whenever I’m not too fond of something so they can immediately change it.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Users liked the website that WP Pals created for us. Moreover, our page went from a C to an A in terms of ranking.

How did WP Pals perform from a project management standpoint?

They met our deadlines and delivered on time. Regarding tools, we used Google Sheets, Google Meet, and text messages — they were flexible with whatever communication channel I wanted to use. We also had weekly meetings, which was helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team was easy to guide and understood our flow quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They said they’d send impressions and results on our site, but we haven’t received that.

Having weekly meetings can be beneficial to keep everyone updated with the process.

Our website was missing the WOW factor. We hired WP Pals to overhaul the existing website and optimize it.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked at many options and ultimately went with the company that was easy to work with and responsive.

I spoke with the team prior to agreeing to work with them. Once we decided to move forward we received an invoice and paid half up front. The work started the following week. There was an expected completion time of 6-8 weeks; that was not met. However, we also brought in a developer/designer for some of the graphics towards the end which added to the overall timing. The transition to my team was great and everything is working as it should.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I believe I worked with the (co?)owner Hamza, Arthur who was the sales guy/my point of contact, and I did not meet the others including the designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The ease of job postings for my team has been very helpful. We have not yet seen a return on investment, but we are looking to promote the website now that it is live.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were very easy to communicate with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were able to take all of our requests and bring them to life. I was really impressed with how smooth of a transition it really was. The testing environments that they provided along the way were awesome.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were times a request was put in several times before being addressed. That was frustrating when you review and edit each time to provide feedback. Attention to those details is key.

I am over pleased, the company did a FANTASTIC job and I recommend them often. My booking rate has increased since launching my new site and I receive so many more leads due to their brilliant calls to action and great layout.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WP Pals has built a website for us. They have a methodical process; they initially took time to understand what we were looking for. Then, they created a template design, and we gave feedback. They’ve worked with us in the planning and design stages. Now, they’ve taken care of the design and development.

Additionally, they’ve worked with us on another website project and provided web hosting and logo design services.

What is the team composition?

We’ve primarily worked with Aaron (Brand & Development Head); he’s our main point of contact. He’s a funny guy, and we’ve had an excellent relationship with him from the beginning.

I researched online and contacted several companies that marketed themselves as website creation and online marketing specialists. We had an initial conversation with Aaron; he was very professional. They also had an organized structure for their operation, so we decided to go with them.

In total, we’ve spent $2,000–$2,500 for all their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started talking to them about the first project in June 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t had any issues with the website. Moreover, when we send out email or traditional mail marketing, all our recipients have a link or QR code to the website, and we’ve gotten a positive response. For example, we got a response from an interested buyer through the link. The prospect looked through the website and read through all the pages, which was a success for us. Overall, we’re happy with the results.

How did WP Pals perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent. They exceeded our expectations with the timeline; they completed the project two weeks ahead of schedule.

We mainly use emails because it’s instant communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their service is inherently technical, so they take orders of what we want and just put it together. However, their personalities are excellent. We deal with people that we like and trust, which is vital.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We haven’t done a significant project requiring more organization levels, so we don’t have suggestions for them. We’re very satisfied.

Be clear about what you’re looking for in terms of impact and results. Also, it can be helpful if you give them examples or inspiration for the design; they work well with that. Otherwise, they take care of the rest.

I am the office manager of a Manufacturing company located in Northern California. We manufacture truck accessories and agriculture machinery.

For what projects/services did your company hire WP Pals?

We needed a listing directory put on our website. We have received lots of calls from customers trying to find where they can purchase our products locally to them, so we want our customers to be able to find the information they need without having to call us.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Well, we had hired another company to do a listing directory for us on our website and do some updating. After 6 months of failing to complete the project, I was looking for another company to take over. I think I posted about it online and Gerald and a few other people from other companies reached out. After talking to several different people, we felt confident Gerald was able to do the one job we needed in a timely manner at fair price without trying to get us to do more than we wanted.

This was a fairly simple project. Gerald sent me over a listing directory he had done for another website, that was exactly what we're looking for. I gave him all the necessary information for him he needed and then he put it together. Let me give the final okay and the page then went live.

We only worked with one, Gerald.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The website looks great, and Gerald was very easy to work with. We have had customers call and say that they like being about to use the listing directory and how easy it is for them to navigate it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Gerald was very easy to communicate with. I felt bad because I had taken a long vacation while he was working on it, so I wasn't able to get back to him right away and he was mostly waiting around on me to get him what he needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am mostly blown away by the response time from Gerald. I ask a question and I get an answer quickly. Like I said we had an issue with the other website company we hired, and I couldn't get responses for weeks sometimes. I felt like our website and our company was a priority, we weren't just another task to complete. We like what the company has done so much so I have fired the other company and am working with Gerald to have WP Pals host our website and help complete the other things the last company couldn't deliver on.

No, I think it went great.

I looked for website design services and WP Pals was recommended to me by an acquaintance. I decided to go with them based on the ease of communication and cost. I worked with a representative around services from inception of the project to completion.

I gave the company several car wash sites who were effective in their market. I also provided the team with a style guide and other guiding factors. Once I the mock-up was complete, we mediated the content through email, text and Google docs. After completion, I had an exit interview with one of the founders of the company.
