I’m the co-founder of a startup. We’ve created a simple and convenient application for getting high-accuracy measurements of a photographed object. The app measures sizes, angles, and spacing without the need for a tape measure or an angle protractor. It works this way: you photograph the object you want to measure near a marker. You need to define the angles of the marker on the photo. After that, you can measure the distance, angles, or the spacing of your object. Everyday objects like currency notes or plastic cards can serve as markers.

What challenge were you trying to address with WOXAPP?

At that time, existing applications for measuring objects produced a high margin of error. We considered all the possible solutions and decided that we could make a better app. We needed to make the iOS application, but the task was difficult.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WOXAPP helped us with the design and development. We wanted an application that would be convenient and comfortable to use. For example, it would be useful for someone buying a frame at a furniture store for a blank wall at home.

Unfortunately, I cannot disclose the technologies and algorithms involved in the project. I can only say that we focused on the measurements, the mathematics, and the camera. The app was also inspired by a criminal investigations technique.

We worked with around six people from WOXAPP.

How did you come to work with WOXAPP?

WOXAPP had experience in this niche, specifically camera applications. We didn’t have any experience in application development, which was why it was important for us to get someone knowledgeable.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $10,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project is done, and the application is now in the App Store. We keep in touch with WOXAPP and consult them if we have questions.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We got everything we asked for, and we have good feedback from users. Companies have requested the use of our technology for their businesses. WOXAPP performed well compared with other vendors in our region.

The estimated faulty proportion of the first versions of the application was 10%, which was high. Thanks to our algorithms, we managed to achieve an error rate of less than 0.3%. In fact, the measurement accuracy depends only on the quality of the photograph. This is an excellent result. Existing analogs can’t give such results.

How did WOXAPP perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a lot of Skype conferences, Scrum meetings, and discussions about the technologies involved.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Without our collaborative work with WOXAPP, this app would have been hard to achieve. Before the project started, we did not know if we would able to implement the technology or not. We succeeded, and we are glad about it. Mission accomplished.

I’m a co-founder of a unique application where virtual money is accrued for completed steps and can be exchanged for goods and services or spent for discounts at gyms or fitness centers or sport and health purchases.

What challenge were you trying to address with WOXAPP?

We wanted to create a convenient running app and already had a clear idea of what the system should look like. We searched for a partner that would be able to complete our task. There are a lot of competitors working in this segment, so we wanted to ensure that ours would be competitive. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The project included a running app for iOS, a web-based partner panel, and an admin panel for administrators. WOXAPP developed the iOS application and web-based admin panel for our product and implemented a server part (API). Because it’s a running app, we worked a lot with maps and geolocation.

Apart from the GPS tracker and route mapping, the app has a lot of functions that had to be conveniently arranged. This was our main challenge. We especially wanted strong UI/UX elements, so we thoroughly discussed the app design and icon. We obtained what we wanted.

There have been a lot of specific tasks. The app should work with the iOS Health Kit and push notifications. We have paid significant attention to the data-exchange speed. For this purpose, the app needed a fairly complex architecture.

We have partners who receive our tools for work. They can download their lots into our system and provide discounts for goods and services. Each partner has different access levels, data reporting, and functions within data administration. There are a lot of elements that need to work properly.

Up to 10 professionals worked on the project.

How did you come to work with WOXAPP?

We selected them based on their price, skill level, and portfolio. The team involvement into the process was a big plus at the stage of selection. Clearly, their company got to the bottom of the task.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2016. Today, the product is in preparation for publishing. WOXAPP has completed their part of the work.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project has been completed, and all the elements are ready for launch. We’re currently preparing an advertising campaign and intend to publish the app. We will start the work in Moscow. We don’t have available data on the project yet.

How did WOXAPP perform from a project management standpoint?

We worked closely with our project manager and received WOXAPP’s reports via mail. They demonstrate how each task has been completed in a designated system. On the whole, the system is simple and convenient. We have no complaints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated their team’s efficiency and ability to solve problems. Clearly, we can’t anticipate each nuance, so it was important for us to feel the team’s support.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their terms.  We wanted to launch our project earlier. But there were some problems, so we are launching it now.

We are a taxi service. We operate in Switzerland, providing passenger transportation. Our company has a fleet of vehicles and provides excellent service.

What is your role at the company?

I’m the founder and CEO.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address by working with WOXAPP? What was the goal of the partnership?

We already had some mobile applications, but they didn’t suit us for a number of reasons. Our goal was to create an ordering system that operates directly between the passenger and driver. Passengers order taxis through the mobile application. A driver accepts an order and executes it. An administrator oversees the process by means of a dashboard. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of the project? Can you describe the specific services that were provided?

We needed both iOS- and Android-compatible applications for passengers, an iOS app for drivers, and an administrative dashboard online. We have set stringent requirements for the application’s design and usability. It enables quick and comfortable taxi ordering. Our competitors are strong, and we have to be the best.

We had a few specific technical requirements. The accuracy of the GPS tracking for the cars and accurate calculation of trip distance and taxi fare value were among our requirements. Additionally, we needed drivers to be able to accept another taxi order before the current ride ends.

Each version of the applications for riders and drivers was done professionally. Each required detailed product interviews, prototypes, and various designs. The whole process including programming and testing was done professionally. It was essential that both the web and mobile software was developed by the same company.

What was your process for selecting WOXAPP? Why did you choose them over others?

I chose WOXAPP for several reasons. First, the guys had a great understanding of the project. You could tell they understood it based on their questions and project evaluation process. I was given a quote only after we discussed the project in detail a few times. Second, the development timeline and cost met my requirements. Additionally, I examined their portfolio and past experience.

Can you give us a general estimate of the size of the project in terms of dollars and manpower?

I cannot discuss the exact amount, but the total cost has been over $60,000.

What were the results of the project? Are there any success stories or metrics you can share?

We started it in 2016. The iOS applications for both passengers and drivers have been released, as well as the dashboard for the admin side. The Android application for passengers is in the final stage of testing.

When working with WOXAPP, is there anything that sets them apart compared to other partners you may have worked with?

They seemed to care. Regardless of the problem or request, they get to work and solve this issue. I can rely on them to always find a solution. Plus, their UX [user experience] work is splendid.

Do you have any constructive criticism? Is there any area that they could improve?

There are no criticisms. There was a moment when WOXAPP exceeded the server capacity limit, and we were charged for unused options. The problem was not noticed on time, and it was a decent sum. The project manager took responsibility and worked with the hosting company to reduce the bill in a week.

We were trying to create an app which allowed users to find different news websites and choose their favorites. It would serve as a unified news source.

WOXAPP developed our Android app.

WOXAPP was referred to me by a friend. I hired WOXAPP based on their approach, portfolio, and the professional level of the programmers. WOXAPP was attentive to task details and gave us a good timeline.

The cost of WOXAPP's work was $65,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with WOXAPP at the beginning of 2014. The first version of the app was released in November of the same year. I am no longer involved in that project, but WOXAPP's work is ongoing. There’s already 15 news sites on the app.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

In 2016, the app had accumulated 3.5 million visits. We track customer feedback from our website. The average user score for the app is 4.5 stars. The client was very satisfied with the results.

How did WOXAPP perform from a project management standpoint?

We were able to release the app on time. WOXAPP was very professional, kept in touch constantly about any issues we encountered, and found solutions together with us. WOXAPP was impressive regarding availability and communication. We mainly used Skype and email to keep in touch.

What did you find most impressive about WOXAPP?

WOXAPP's overall work was satisfying, but they stood out regarding project analytics. WOXAPP was on top of the work and met our deadlines.

Are there any areas WOXAPP could improve?

Every company has something to work on, but WOXAPP has performed quite well.

I’m the COO of Ekipazh, a window construction manufacturer.

We needed a custom CRM system.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to optimize the factory’s business processes, including managers’ interactions with dealers.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We wanted a vendor that would immerse themselves fully in our business and goals. We chose WOXAPP because they displayed a special interest in our project.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They developed the CRM for external and internal communication between two factory program systems. The tool had an administrative panel for dealers, claim managers, and content managers.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a project manager. Their team included a UX specialist, a UI specialist, an art director, a backend developer, a frontend developer, a QA engineer, a DevOps specialist, and the CTO.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We received positive dealer feedback. Although it has been live for less than five months, the CRM has already reduced factory managers’ workload. We expect that more specific indicators will be available after another year.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

WOXAPP designed the UX before completing the development component. Their 300-page documentation for the administrative panel was very thorough. They programmed in successive two-week stages with regular presentations, and then gave us a one-month warranty. We used BitBucket during the process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were communicative and interested in our business. The team listened to us and gave advice accordingly.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

In the development process, everything was clear. But, their technical support could be better and more transparent.

I’m CEO of a startup blogging platform for travelers.

What challenge were you trying to address with WOXAPP?

I needed to develop a blog platform for tourists and travelers. I had some ideas about it in general, but I didn’t have all project details. I had the vision, but lacked the know-how. WOXAPP helped me to detail all tasks, and we fragmented the project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The project was to build an app for both iOS and Android, as well as manage the server. WOXAPP handles the design and development, all from scratch. We’ve also added a website version to the project timeline.

First of all, we had several iterations of interviews. We spoke with the team and with potential users to generate the scope of requirements, including how the product should look. Then WOXAPP created a design; they really showed us how to think through the user experience.

The concept or goal behind the platform is to provide a convenient way of exchanging impressions about the countries visited. The travel blogger should have an ability to publish their impressions, emotions, and advice. Today’s platforms, including social media, don’t have a strong travel orientation. Other platforms help to select accommodation and related products, but they are not concentrated on the purpose of experience-sharing.

In the app, you can type a fast note describing your daytime traveling and share it with your friends. The app provides a chat function, synchronization with social media, ability to privatize the article and give it only to chosen friends, as well as other functions.

How did you come to work with WOXAPP?

I had heard about them before. I looked through their portfolio and past performance and the sites they’d built. I had been working with several IT teams on different projects when I decided to recruit a different team for this new project. I knew these guys and that they make great mobile and web apps. I hired them after productive initial consultations. They helped me understand what I had to do to make my idea a reality.

There were several teams I was considering. The determining factors were a portfolio, ability to build all 3 applications (mobile and web), and the project cost.

How much have you invested with WOXAPP?

I can’t state the exact amount, but it’s within the range of $40,000-50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started with them in November 2016. The collaboration is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The project isn’t fully functional yet, so I don’t have any metrics right now. But, WOXAPP sticks to their promises. We faced various difficulties when implementing the project, but we cooperated to find the solution. There are 7-10 people involved in the project, and I usually communicate with their project manager. I needed a proactive team, and WOXAPP came through.

How did WOXAPP perform from a project management standpoint?

There are a lot of slight details to be kept in mind. There are 3 apps, and each has its nuances. It’s good that I can call the manager and learn about the status of the project, the tasks being performed, and the progress being made. I am often advised on how to deal with the project in order to evade problems. Our team uses email, Skype, Google Drive, and Bitbucket.

What did you find most impressive about WOXAPP?

The team is very proactive and focused on finding solutions. When I set a task, I don’t have to worry about it getting done or get involved in the actual implementation.

Are there any areas WOXAPP could improve?

No, I want them to develop their creative potential and have more large projects.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with WOXAPP?

Start with the communication, tell them about the business goals and how it’s going to be developed from the business standpoint. They will offer the IT implementation.
