I’m the president of the Central Vermont Refugee Action Network (CVRAN), which serves refugees and asylum seekers in central Vermont.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wits Enj Web Development and Design?

We needed someone to create our website from scratch.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wits Enj Web Development and Design has created and updated our website using WordPress. They’ve done the programming and worked with a team to achieve our goals. We’ve collaborated on the project, and Ben has told us what’s possible. We’ve looked at colors and possible navigation and gone from there.

The team has also helped us with a fundraising campaign called March Arts Marathon through our website. Artists create things in their studios or homes and send digital images to sponsors. We’ve done this for several years; each artist has 10–50 sponsors. There has to be a means for people to check which artists they want to sponsor, so there has to be a set of profiles and daily products. 

Moreover, the artists have to communicate with their sponsors, so there has to be a database list that includes the addresses of the artists. Wits Enj Web Development and Design has created much of this project.

Additionally, they’re our webmaster and continue to upgrade the website. They’ve figured out how to do things efficiently and redesigned it. They’ve also automated some tasks, such as ensuring that all volunteers who sign up online have their preferences and personal data sent to the volunteer coordinator. All donations that come through the website are sent to the treasurer.

We work with 5–7 teammates, but Ben is our sole point of contact from Wits Enj Web Development and Design.

We were an all-volunteer organization, and Ben did some pro bono work for us. We continued with him from there. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $12,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in January 2023, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Wits Enj Web Development and Design has put in many volunteer hours and has been paid. They’ve done much good work, and we’ve raised over $60,000 annually through the March Arts Marathon campaign. 

How did Wits Enj Web Development and Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good at meeting deadlines and continue to improve how the product is done. We communicate through Zoom, email, phone, and occasional in-person meetings.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

We appreciate that Ben isn’t egocentric — he’s easy to talk to, smart, and understands us. He gets the concept, boils it down, and gives us a nice, succinct answer. He communicates well with everyone, including the artists he’s signed up. If someone doesn’t know how to sign up, he helps them through it or troubleshoots patiently and without complaint.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I value Ben’s clear communication the most. He communicates well with our volunteer website editor, shows good initiative, and tells us how to do better. Overall, Ben keeps inventing better and more efficient ways to do things, and he’s creative about that.

No, there aren’t any.

the community and surrounding area; easy to use tabs providing hours of operation, policies, and board member data; maintenance and functionality of a searchable obituary index for genealogical purposes.  Wits Enj Web Development included a major update of the homepage to increase searchability, data delivery speeds, and to be more in keeping with users' growing knowledge of search techniques.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Number of website "hits" monthly.  Comments to staff members from library visitors.  Email inquiies regarding family history materials available in addition to the online obituaries index.

In a word, Wits' Enj Web Development is reliable.  As a vendor, the company responded quickly to the library's needs.  Our inquiries were promptly handled primarily via email and there were no major issues.  Direct telephone contact was always available.  Wits' Enj was sensitive to the unique features of a library, confidently recommending and creating content in keeping with an entity committed to providing superior public service.  The need for a website update was identified and recommended to the library by Wits' Enj itself  ---   the update was produced in a short period of time and up and running glitch-free.  Public comment was very positive.
