Scope was wholly defined as: 

• Replacing a 'dumb' pass-through application in order to provide greater flexibility between cloud-BSS elements, including Website, Zendesk, Stripe, and Campaign Monitor. 
• Send Lead data to Campaign Monitor early in the sales funnel
• Create users and tickets in Zendesk 
• Create payment at checkout 
• Allow greater flexibility to save lead journeys and rehydrate through tokenized links 
• Provide the ability to work with 3rd party providers through stripe such as finance-based purchasing

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

UAT and end-to-end (E2E) testing of ordering and provisioning to ensure all business support systems (BSS) elements responded as desired.

We have a very casual but immediate partnership-styled working relationship. We use Slack to communicate rather than pick up the phone and because we retain Wildlabs, we have regular weekly video call WIPs

Eugen understands our customer journeys and is attentive to not only code functionality but end customer outcomes. This means they considered and provided feedback when they saw change requests would have negative outcomes.

Please describe your company and your position there.

My name is Antonia Baker and I run a small real estate agency in Auckland and the Waikato called The Property Market. I am interested in how technology can help us offer our vendors and buyers a better experience so I have engaged WildLabs a number of times over the last few years to build us some custom software and a new website.

For what projects/services did your company hire Wildlabs, and what were your goals?

I initially engaged WildLabs a couple of years ago just to rebuild our website and also to maintain our software. At that stage, I was procuring web design from another agency and just working with WildLabs for the development but I've since moved all my software and web design and development across to WildLabs because they're so good and easy to work with.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Artem Verbo at WildLabs was working for another supplier who I had been working with previously and when he announced he was stepping out on his own, I went with him. Having already worked with him, I was confident in his technical abilities and now that he has brought on board an excellent designer, I have also moved our web design across. He just needs to build in SEO and comms now and he'll never get rid of me.

Artem Verbo is my main contact for development. Seo Young Lee looks after front end design. Kostya Starodub looks after technical research and billing. Eugene is one of the developers on their team I've worked with.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The latest round of deployment went live (without a hitch) only yesterday so it's too early to measure but the appraisal generator has been tested with clients and is already winning us business and I foresee no issues across the rest of the project whatsoever. We've got sufficient planning and analysis under our belts that there is not much risk involved from here.

For our projects, we've used email, Asana and Figma and all have been super easy to use.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They're proactive with the ideas and solutions they bring me and because they know my business, they're always on the money so I generally end up taking their advice and doing what I'm told. I'm happy WildLabs takes the lead on the digital front and the design side of things, which works well for us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nope. Any areas for improvement are always with me, not them.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the Marketing Manager for a Volume Home Builder in Auckland, New Zealand. We build and sell medium to high density new homes across various locations.

For what projects/services did your company hire Wildlabs, and what were your goals?

We had multiple websites for each of our different locations, making it hard for customers to browse across various locations and find the right new home for them. We also needed to ensure we were connecting any leads into our CRM system, to allow our sales team to follow up with potential purchasers. Our goal was to create one website that allowed customers to browse by house type, location, their requirements in a new home and then be guided to other options that may meet their needs in different areas.

Capture all these requirements and allow our teams to communicate directly with them in the future as they help them with the buying process. In addition our website was built on very old technology, that made changing any of the content difficult, as well as required lots of developer time to make simple changes. It didn't allow us any flexibility in adding new locations or homes, and had security issues.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We gathered vendor recommendations from our marketing agencies and then we ran a pitch process. To make our decision we looked at creativity, tech stack, security, cost and ability to work with our team.

We had a kick off meeting with the team at Wildlabs, they took our initial designs from our creative agency and used them to create an architecture for the site and wireframes. Once we had worked through these and approved them, they built the new site for us including integration with HubSpot our CRM system. The new site was built using Laravel, Statamic, Jamstack, and Algolia. This ensured we met all our IT Security requirements and gave us a flexible CMS system as we expand into new locations and create new content. They worked to align our SEO and ensure we didn't lose Google Ranking as we moved from our multiple sites to the new site.

A project manager was our main point of contact, and we also worked closely with the developer and a UX designer to ensure our initial designs were bought to life in a customer centric usable way.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our customers and internal stakeholders loved our new design. It showcased our homes in a visually rich manner and allowed better browsing for users. The website met all our internal requirements of being secure and easy to use.

Communication from Wildlabs was excellent. We had regular WIPS, a project timeline and plan where every deliverable date was met on time or early. They responded quickly to any questions and feedback. Dealing with bugs was simple and easy using Google Docs and email. The whole project ran very smoothly and launched on time and on budget.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They gave us a professional, secure site that was easy to update. Their communication was excellent and they worked well with our other agencies. They were easy to deal with, always available and ensured they communicated any changes to the project timeline well in advance. They delivered on time, and they made my life easier as we transitioned sites.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, they were great to work with and I'd work with them again.

I'm the director of an art gallery.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wildlabs?

We wanted to build a beautiful website that felt very contemporary but also incorporated an online shop. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the start of the project, we worked through our brief with them. We asked for something different than what other companies wanted to do, so they listened closely. At first, we had them modify our existing website but ended up wanting to develop it further.

So, Wildlabs delivered a new site design and related visuals. We requested the site be functional and easy to navigate. Everything needed to be clean and simple. They had to ensure that the more informational parts of the site didn't feel too retail-focused. Once we signed off on that, Wildlabs built a new website in WordPress from scratch with better code than the original. Once the site was done, Wildlabs added a CRM integration, although we've recently migrated to a new CRM.

The website is a combination of an informational site and an e-commerce site. About half of our products can be purchased online. It's a very unique website that we're constantly adding to.

What is the team composition?

We've worked with three teammates from Wildlabs, including the project manager, a web designer, and a web developer. 

How did you come to work with Wildlabs?

We'd been working with a developer for a year and a half, trying to get the website finished, but they kept telling us they couldn't do what we asked. We were in a really difficult position, so when Wildlabs contacted me, I met with them. I liked their communication and portfolio, so I hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested more than $10,000 NZD (approximately $6,300 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement began around October 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Wildlabs has never said there's something they couldn't do — they always make the site work the way we want it to. The website is absolutely fantastic. We get a lot of feedback from our customers and artists who say the site is beautiful and functional. Our conversions have increased, especially because we didn't have the e-commerce functions before working with Wildlabs. 

How did Wildlabs perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager handles all pieces of the project — everything we've done went through him. They've been fantastic about delivering within our timeline and budget. I know they have a project management tool, but I prefer to manage projects via email, which they accommodated.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Wildlabs has fantastic customer service — they have a customer-first attitude. They never say they can't deliver. I've worked with a few web developers, and it's always felt like it was us versus them. With Wildlabs, it feels like they want to achieve the best results for us. It's almost like they're a part of my business. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing for them to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I'd advise customers to have a clear brief, but I didn't feel I needed to push Wildlabs to achieve it. Their team leads processes well, so there isn't anything that customers need to do to manage Wildlabs.
