What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Widelab delivered a ready website that was super well done. We met all our KPIs, including traffic and interactions. Since it was a new website and the launch of a new brand, we didn’t have any benchmarks to compare the results.

How did Widelab perform from a project management standpoint?

Widelab delivered on time. The deadline was non-negotiable, and they delivered. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and a messaging app.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Widelab went the extra mile. They had super good communication and were very trustworthy. They had a great skill set in general. The website received great feedback internally and from the industry.

No, there weren’t any. Everything was very well done.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have an amazing design that has tested well with students so far. The students were impressed, especially with the animations, and the design resonated across both genders and a broad age group. It is a very unique and thoughtfully crafted design. The pilot has not yet launched, and we did not use formal metrics or surveys during testing.

There were multiple measurable outcomes - all were aligned with our goals and the work was excellent.  Very pleased.

Very, very responsive.  Sometimes, there is a major time difference between the requestor of the work and WideLab - but there was absolutely no noticable impact.  They responded immediately, did the work very quickly, and provided clear timelines for completion.

Each morning, we review work that has been done on Figma. We provide feedback via comments on Figma, and our designer would implement the changes, or request clarifcation. Our measure of successful was 1) did the designs match our UX stories and 2) did the speed of design match our expectations.

Overall, the project has been management very well. Communication has been good and our design has done a great job at really thinking through the UI/UX to make sure it's as good as it can be. We've had a great working relationship.

There was only one period, during the holidays, that we wish communication was better. There was some working being done on documentation and the design system that we didn't fully understand or get regular updates on. But as we've designed certain features, our day-to-day work and collaboration has been great.

I’m the fractional CMO, so I am the effective head of marketing for an imaging technology company based in Durham, North Carolina. We develop microscopes, hardware, and related imaging software to analyze images captured by the microscope. Basically, we operate in the biotechnology and tooling space.

Initially, we needed help with deck design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

At first, Widelab designed our investor PowerPoint decks. Later, we decided to engage them for a full website refresh. They worked on the site's UX/UI design using Figma, helped us create wireframes, and conceptually discussed the content we desired and determined in what format. They then designed the website and implemented it in Webflow.

We worked with three people, their main three key internal resources. We worked with a UX designer, another designer, and a developer from Widelab.

We started working with them in October 2024, and the website went live in January 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We showed investors Widelab's design deck, and they were really impressed with the design. Widelab did such an incredible job on this that we decided to invest in the website refresh with them, even if it wasn't originally planned this way.

We gave them six weeks to do this refresh. They worked through the holidays, which made them stand out as partners. Finally, they successfully implemented the UX/UI design and delivered the website. They got it done! It went live last week. Overall, the team did an incredible job and completely elevated our brand.

How did Widelab perform from a project management standpoint?

It's worth noting that they hit very aggressive deadlines. They were all fantastic. I have a lot of experience in website design, so the experience was quite collaborative. We mainly worked in Figma and communicated via Slack, video calls, and email.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to give a shout-out to Weronika. At some point, we talked about the hero section of our homepage, and even though we gave vague directions, she quickly grasped what we wanted. She then sent an incredible design iteration, which honestly surprised me. She was really responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were responsive and easy to work with. The whole process was seamless. They were amazing, and I honestly plan to continue working with them indefinitely.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing they can improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work relationships such as this are successful because both sides are very responsive. So, be responsive to Widelab and engage with them in a way that sets a cadence of speedy, respectful, and thoughtful back-and-forth. That will hopefully help you move quickly and efficiently.

Widelab delivered Figma designs that we could apply. In addition, they also provided one HTML with all the design for an external system (custom univeral login within Auth0).

Project management was responsive and proactive and a pleasure to work with. Widelab tried to accomodate to our needs even when our main developer over there had severe health issues.

Also notable that Widelab was always very cooperative in providing more options or changing designs once we realized something didn't work there.

I think the initial stages for the customer research and personas were done well but could have taken less time. Our product is still small and young and the research that was done was more suitable for an enterprise than a small startup. So, while they should get kudos for the serious approach, sometime in certain cases you can cut a few corners to move faster.

Then we moved on to redesigning our website gradually. This step further expanded Pynt’s brand and proposed it’s refresh and a more modern feel to the site itself, which was further used on the following marketing assets and provides a point of reference for future materials.
