A brief scope of work will not do Whiz Cloud justice. In 2016, we were looking to “retool” our then current “tech stack” as necessary to do business online in context of a “Platform as a Service”. With a new framework and any required adjustments to the existing architecture, this shift would offer us the ability to continue to service much of the components of the then current AccessDance, as well as build the new features for opportunities identified in the market; all with a modern, scalable, 3rd party integrated approach. This included moving us onto a “platform” that can be serviced by outside engineers who are managed by our current development team/project manager and avoid the “development bottleneck” we frequently experienced.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Admittedly, we did not go into this with preconceived measurable outcomes, beyond "rebuild it and make it work". Whiz Cloud supported many of the functions that larger companies may have in-house paid staff to handle. Whiz Cloud synthesized large amounts of unprocessed material and supported our transistion from a 17 year old, out-dated project to a new modern one.

We worked 'eating the elephant one bite at a time'. After taking time to assess the bigger picture, Whiz Cloud was able to break down our project into deliverable sections and help focus our efforts to deliver to a testing platform. They assisted us in working out a 'bugs and feedback' system so they could tend to issues and feature requests and push live when ready. They took the time to explain concepts we didn't understand and ensured we felt supported throughout.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

How Whiz Cloud was able to handle our project, follow and support our unconventional process and deliver a high quality product was a true miracle. I'm proud to say I consider Anil and the whole team at Whiz Cloud friends.

Are there any areas for improvement or something WhizCloud could have done differently?

I'm not sure this is a fair question since it has been a few years since our project and things change drastically in this line of work.

Whiz were a key partner and integral to this project's success. They were initially hired to create the MVP for the SaaS web application that I wanted to build in August of 2016, and remained a very close partner up until the company was acquired by the industry leader in the industry in the end of 2021, when the relationship were taken over by the new owners. They were a key aspect of making this project a success, all the way from the first prototype to the point in which the web application had an estimated 50+% market share in the target market and became a target for acquisition. 

Whiz assisted with web application development and were integral in discussing requirements in depth. One of the best things about working with Whiz is that they really try to understand what is being built and on multiple occasions this discussion made the idea 10x better than it originally was.

Whiz helped me take the original idea for a SaaS product and turn it into a real business that ended up being acquired by the biggest company in the industry.

Their communication was always really good. Timelines were communicated clearly, discussions on requirements were amazing. If delays happened, this was also communicated properly. They were a true partner and I would highly recommend hiring them for your future project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I find the discussions about requirements to be especially impressive. Anil would always really try to understand in depth what was being proposed and analyze what their implications were. On many occasions, this discussion helped me crystallize the idea and make it 10x better. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something WhizCloud could have done differently?

No, I'm extremely happy with the work they have performed and would highly recommend hiring them for any projects you may have.

The WhizCloud team has been working with us for over 5 years now. They delivered our entire backend architecture as well as the frontend application that now serves more than 30 Amazon agencies at scale. They have dealt with changing environments in the Amazon API landscape, become subject matter experts in all things Amazon development, and adapted to our needs as we grew. We could not have gotten to where we are with out the Whiz team and consider them a long term partner.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

WhizCloud built a production application that handles over a billion transactions per day. The scale was unknown when we started but the team continued to handle the increasing demands of a growing vertical in the Amazon marketplace space.

The WhizCloud team worked closely with us to take idea to reality time and time again. In the startup space, there was lots of ambiguity and being non-technical founders, we often created more problems for them than we solved. But they rolled with it and were great at working through the details of app development as we went.

They have a deep bench of talent and were able to quickly supply the folks we needed for our project as we grew.

As is always the challenge with working across time zones, it was difficult to find time to connect with the team that worked for everyone.
