Ask a lot of questions and make sure the description is clear. From there, work together to make sure everyone has the same understanding of the project.

I’m the business development manager of a boutique media company. We focus on YouTube, creating content, and creating audiences from that content, which we then look to monetize.

We gave Weelorum a brief, and they helped us develop a long-term plan for getting the app launched in the App Store; along with the various intricacies that go along with that. Although the main project is this app, they’ve also worked on a couple of small projects for us.

The app is a music-based platform so its main feature is customizing specific music that helps users relax, sleep, and meditate — which is one of the core focuses of one of our subbrands. This app is a customized experience of our current offering.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Every time we have a new goal or a new project, we lay out exactly what we want to be done. Weelorum then goes through the list and ticks boxes stating what they did or didn’t do, as well as what they added on top of what we wanted.

How did Weelorum perform from a project management standpoint?

They perform well as far as project management goes. Often times, they’re a couple of days late or a couple of days early with delivery. But overall, they’re pretty on track with the deadlines we give them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer service is their most impressive attribute. The Weelorum team is very patient and really listens to everything the client has to say. Even though in hindsight, a lot of what we’ve said or requested could’ve been questionable — not in an underhanded way but in that some things we requested were a little unreasonable from a business standpoint.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing in particular. There have been a couple of communication issues here and there in terms of copy on our projects not being perfect. However, this is simply because English isn’t their native language; but overall it’s very minor details.

Everyone should do their due diligence, but I wouldn’t warn potential customers against anything.

Weelorum has taken my app idea and built a fully operational MVP within a few months. I had to take occassional breaks from the project due to other work, but they were always ready to pick back up and continue where we left off. To date, they have delivered not only an MVP, but a scalable version of the app and a clear path toward the development of new features.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

During a very small scale launch, our app has acquired and retained 50 daily active users very quickly. I am certain a larger marketing push would reach plenty more users. By nature I am cautious and therefore have not made a larger marketing push, though the app works well enough to do so. I believe Weelorum has brought the app to a very good place, ready for further marketing.

In general Weelorum did a great job meeting our deadlines. In a few key moments, they prioritized bug fixing and working on our project to ensuyre a good user experience. Ilya (CEO) is always extremely responsive to my messages and works hard to keep the project moving smoothly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I have deeply appreciated being able to communicate directly with Ilya at all times. He understands that this project is important to me, and his commitment to the quality of his company's projects is impressive. The design work in the last year has been particularly good. I believe they hired a new designer -- Anastasiya -- and she is efficient and has a great eye.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Weelorum could have done differently?

The bug fixing workflow has at times been inefficient. Today, we are back on track and we have better systems in place for clear communication and for handling bugs very quickly. I would say this has been my only issue, and Ilya has fixed my concerns.

What was the scope of their involvement?

 Weelor's mandate is to handle the project end-to-end, from the initial redesign to coding the new application in native Swift and Kotlin. A key goal for us is ensuring absolute stability and retaining our user base during the transition. Therefore, their scope also includes ongoing maintenance and rapid bug fixes to deliver a stable, high-performance product. Weelor's scope of work is all-encompassing. They handle the entire development lifecycle, including all design, backend, frontend, and mobile application development. The main deliverable from this initial project is the MVP version of our application. Based on the success of this phase, we have already planned to continue our engagement with them for post-launch updates and future development. The central feature of the MVP is a complete monetization engine, specifically the ability for users to purchase and manage subscriptions directly within the music application. The strategy is to prioritize this core functionality above all else. This allows us to continuously monitor progress and track milestones as they happen, ensuring the project stays perfectly aligned with our vision. This seamless and transparent collaboration is a critical measure of a successful partnership for us. The most apparent early indicator of success is the improved development speed. This, combined with their project managers' proactive efforts to ensure swift bug resolution, has given us great confidence in the project's momentum. This progress has been validated internally as well. Our CEO has consistently expressed positive feedback on both the process and the results so far. Moreover, the most important piece of feedback I can share is about their commitment to quality. Unlike our experiences with other firms, there has been absolutely zero corner-cutting with Weelorum. What challenge were you trying to address with Weelorum?

I hired Weelorum to build a mobile application with Flutter for both iOS and Android. I provided the designs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Weelorum reviewed the designs and suggested some updates. Then, they planned the work and implementation, breaking it down into pieces and milestones. The team implemented the application step by step, including testing, quality assurance, and releases. They also built a simple backend for the application.

The main milestone was the initial application release, which contained all the basic functionality, including authorization, authentication, and the ability to go through the main user flow. Then, we had milestones around key functionalities that were added to the application.

We had several issues with App Store and with Google Play Store. We had some challenges when it came to publishing the application and following all the rules. Several times we also had bugs in production that we had to resolve.

What is the team composition?

For most of the time, there was one engineer. At different times, we had two more engineers working on the project.

How did you come to work with Weelorum?

I found Weelorum through Upwork. The team had good reviews, a similar timezone, and similar technologies to the ones I wanted. They also had a pretty good portfolio and were cost-effective.

The project lasted from April 2024–June 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Weelorum implemented the application features one by one, and the app was continuously released to the stores and users. We had around 300 active users and creators on the platform.

How did Weelorum perform from a project management standpoint?

Weelorum’s project management was quite well organized. The development team brought their own setup in terms of tools that worked well, such as Atlassian tools and spreadsheets. We met regularly and discussed all the issues. The team proposed different solutions that I could choose from, and they followed the steps to resolve the issues in a timely manner.

We had regular meetings, and they assigned a product manager who helped organize the work and ensured we weren’t losing anything. Our primary form of communication was sync meetings twice a week, plus a Slack setup for asynchronous communication.

Although it could be more flexible, sometimes I felt when we needed to change how we work, then it didn't go that great to adjust to our needs. But overall, their working framework was really good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The delivery price and predictability were great. They matched the initial estimates.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve proposed and implemented better observability, responding to issues and rolling out upgrades. We had some issues with migrations and data consistency on the existing user base.
