I’m a managing director for a consulting company. We have a platform that connects buyers and sellers in the UK, and my role is to lead projects.

What challenge were you trying to address with Webpop Design?

We engaged Webpop to design and develop our platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we worked with Webpop to determine the look and feel of the platform. Once we agreed on the project deliverables, the team began working on the design process. We worked iteratively on the platform’s logos, pages, and features, and Webpop explained which of our ideas were possible. 

After completing the design process, they moved on to develop the platform. They built the platform using WordPress and WooCommerce and integrated it with MailChimp. Since launching the platform, they’ve continued helping us with new features.

I’ve worked with one team member from Webpop, Alan (Creative Director). 

How did you come to work with Webpop Design?

I spoke with various service providers initially. I was impressed with Webpop’s previous work and felt they could deliver on our asks, so we engaged them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested roughly $32,000 in the partnership with Webpop. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Webpop in January 2022 and launched the platform in June 2022, but the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Webpop has given us exactly what we were looking for. We wanted the platform to be simple and user-friendly, and they’ve helped us achieve that. The platform is intuitive and has a very low barrier to entry, and users can send messages with just a couple of clicks. We’ve received positive feedback from hundreds of users regarding the platform’s modern, sleek look and simple functionality. 

How did Webpop Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Alan is detail-oriented and easy to work with, and I like having only one point of contact. We mainly communicate via email, but they've been very efficient when we’ve had phone calls. I’m not a developer, but Webpop has translated technology terms throughout. 

As the development process evolved, I had more ideas that impacted the scope, deadline, and budget, but that was on me. I’ve been very happy with the engagement overall. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with Webpop’s willingness to incorporate my ideas throughout the development process. They’ve never said no to anything; instead, they’ve explained the limitations and done their best to deliver on my asks. Furthermore, they listened to my vision and developed an output that exceeded my initial expectations. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing Webpop could improve on.

For what projects/services did your company hire Webpop Design?

We're pursuing a product diversification strategy. Our old website was designed to promote one product. We needed a website overhaul that

(a) gave equal weight to a number of products targeted at completely different demographics

(b) communicated the trustworthy nature of our brand

(c) dealt with complex requirements regarding different regulatory disclaimers needed

(d) a design that worked seamlessly on mobile.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected Webpop based on their portfolio and history in working within the financial services space. We looked at live sites designed by Webpop and they were impressively fast and easy to use

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We worked with Webpop using Upwork. Where meetings were required, these were easily scheduled using their booking appointment service. The initial design work with Webpop was easy, because they well understood the brief (having summarised this in a document and sending it to us for our approval).

This ensured we were all on the same page. Development work was punctual and we were kept up to date. Webpop Design supported us through revisions and understood complex requests regarding the UI/UX experience we needed.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The project was managed by Alan, although I understand that he had others working with him. We appreciated the single point of contact approach.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Conversions have increased by 35% since we launched the new site. Success is largely intangible as it coincides with the launch of new products. What we can say is that Webpop has given us a best of breed platform to go forward with.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Webpop excelled in communication and punctuality — something we highly valued.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Single point of contact. on time delivery, "no silly bugs", well thought out - Webpop laterally thought about our needs and didnt just follow the prescriptive brief.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I cant think of a single piece of negative feedback.

I am the owner of a psychedelic retreat company. We have a booking platform that allows people to find legal psychedelic retreats where they can have a therapeutic experience.

What challenge were you trying to address with Webpop Design?

I had a general idea and vision of what I wanted the project to look like but I needed help with the technical side of things.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Webpop Design developed and designed my WordPress website. I had created some mockups of the design on Sketch, and their designer was responsible for translating those designs into the layout of the site.

After getting the designs finalized, they're helping us take the site live, making sure it has all of the necessary functionality, including booking, messaging, and payment processing capabilities. They also upload our content to the site.

My main point of contact is Alan (Director). 

How did you come to work with Webpop Design?

I made a post on UpWork and received hundreds of applicants. I interviewed a lot of people, asking very project-specific questions to make sure they actually read everything, and looked into their relevant past work. 

Alan stood out right away. He had clearly read everything and was able to articulate himself well. He really understood the project and had lots of creative ideas. His costs were twice as much as I had intended to spend, but I had a lot of confidence in him.

How much have you invested with them?

I have invested around $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement began in February 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

While the site has not yet launched, I’m really happy with it. They did an awesome job and really exceeded my expectations. It’s the best quality of work possible. Alan had a lot of great suggestions that improved the project a lot. The project was even delivered ahead of schedule.

Webpop Design pays attention to details and gets things right the first time. I’ve worked with developers in the past who need to be told how to do things over and over again, that isn’t the case with Webpop Design. I tell Alan what I need, and he’ll do it right the first time. 

How did Webpop Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Not only did he hit all of the deadlines, Alan even helped keep me on track at times. He’s super organized and will remind me about things I need to get done. It’s improved my productivity more than ever. Our teams use ClickUp and email to collaborate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a lot of integrity and deliver exactly what they promised. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I’ve worked with hundreds of people and this exceeded all of my other experiences by far.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Take advantage of Alan’s feedback. He’s very good at directing the project and understanding your vision. In the beginning, spend time talking through the project in detail and asking each other questions. That was a very important part of the process.

I needed help with web development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created my website. The team integrated Google Maps to show which locations I’m willing to travel to. There are also specific triggers on drop-down menus on my site; when someone clicks on them, I get an email directly. They added pictures, too.

What is the team composition?

I worked with one person from their team.

How did you come to work with Webpop Design?

I found them via a Google search. They gave me a one-on-one consultation and I decided to work with them from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent £3,800 (approximately $5,100 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018, and we wrapped up in March 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The site is perfect for what I wanted. It’s gotten great feedback from clients and others in my industry. It’s also made it simplified the booking process. I’m really happy with it because it saves me from getting loads of calls while I’m doing my day job.

How did Webpop Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re really good and managed everything. The team was always efficient and was able to help me whenever I needed it even after we finished. We used Skype to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When I told them I needed things done within a couple of months, they got it done. It was an efficient process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t really complain.

My advice is to go for it. They’re a great company to work with. I’m delighted with my website.

I’m the director of UK Carp Tech, a carp fishing competition website.

What challenge were you trying to address with Webpop Design?

We needed someone to design and develop our website — our platform is a competition site where people buy tickets. It was an old, basic site, so we hired Webpop Design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Webpop Design gave us a complete overhaul and built a new site from scratch, creating it from the ground up. It’s a WordPress website and was built using WooCommerce. There are also a lot of features involved, built using CSS.

They’ve created all the pages, functionalities, and the actual designs of the whole site, and we changed our logo, too. They’ve also recommended a payment gateway for us to switch to.

I work with Alan (Director).

How did you come to work with Webpop Design?

I found them on Upwork as a freelance web designer. They had good ratings and their rates were competitive, so I went with them.

We’ve spent $20,000 on the engagement.

We started working together in February 2020 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site came out better than we expected — it is a really good platform. After having the complete overhaul done, we saw a significant boost in sales — we’re tracking all of our customers through Google Analytics so we can see that. We wouldn’t be where we are without Alan — I tell him that all the time and he’ll be my web developer until he quits.

How did Webpop Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been exceptional. I can talk to him any time of the day through Skype and email. As soon as I tell him there’s an issue, he is there for me within a few minutes, even if it’s late at night.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I love Webpop Design — we wouldn’t be where we are without them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t even think of an area for him to improve. They work well — we don’t need to look anywhere else. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for a professional company to get the job done, they might not be the cheapest but their customer service and actual work is second to none. Don’t look elsewhere — I’d recommend them to anyone.

When I took over the company, I wanted Webpop Design to maintain our website. The platform hadn’t been maintained properly and a number of plugins needed to be updated.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Webpop Design maintains our WordPress website to make sure everything works together. The platform’s complex because it’s where people purchase licensed downloads. Their team updated plugins and implements additional ones as needed. They’ve also upgraded the website to the most up-to-date version of WordPress.

I’ve only been in touch with one person from the team.

We called around and a colleague brought Webpop Design to our attention. I called, asking for a reference.

Our engagement started in October 2019 and their work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their team has found a solution to every problem I’ve given them. We haven’t tracked metrics other than that the site’s working well. That’s all I’ve wanted really.

How did Webpop Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Webpop Design’s absolutely superb. Their team responds and completes work quickly. If I’ve got a problem in the evening, they’re often onto it straight away. I’ve never had an issue with tasks lingering.

What did you find most impressive about them?

With a previous provider, they would book a job to be completed two weeks down the road when we needed it done now. There’s a significant difference in response time with Webpop Design. Their team will get a job done straight away.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, every contact with them has been absolutely superb.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate openly and be clear about what you want. I genuinely advise people to work with them.
