How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were recommended this vendor by a trusted advisor. We selected them because they were extremely strategic and creative when it comes to both campaign optimization and CRO. They are also have unparalleled knowledge of the Facebook platform and had worked with businesses similar to ours. I confirmed that we wouldn't be pawned off onto a junior account manger despite our size, and we were not. There was senior level oversight the entire time.

We were seeing a dip in FB performance starting with the IOS changes in 2021 and our current contractor was not able to overcome the changes. We needed a more strategic team with a direct line to Facebook that could help get performance back on track.

We work with 3 people on our account on a day to day basis, all are quite experienced and senior. I also have access to executive leadership at the agency whenever needed. They have been really thoughtful with who is working on our account and involved in performance regularly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to stabilize acquisition costs and drive volume without increasing CAC.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely effective. We have weekly meetings to review the account, progress, and plans. We are also big slack users and have slack channels dedicated to Webistry where they are extremely responsive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The constant flow of new ideas and emphasis on testing. Typically, after you work with an agency for a while, it becomes a little stale and there aren't a ton of new ideas. Even after over a year of working with Webistry, they come to me every single week with new ideas and new strategies to test. They are in our account every day looking at data and trying new things. I liked that they leveraged their expertise across all their accounts.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nope. I love working with them.

For paid ad set up, the brand team submits creative assets, supporting copy, ad date/time, ad budget, retailer product link, and all other set up needs via shared Google file with Webistry.

Webistry then uses all material received from the brand to set up and turn on ads directly through Facebook. On a weekly basis, the Webistry team meet with us (the brand) to review metrics/ad performance through our Dashboard (site) and recommends optimizations based on performance.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Since my employment at Briogeo (7 months) we've worked with 5 Webistry team members: Head of Growth Accounts, Paid Media Team Lead, Paid Media Analyst and Marketing Coordinator, as well as direct hands-on support from the President and Co-Founder.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since my employment, we've been testing an array of paid ads across retailer.com. Our learnings have helped us better understand the type of creative that resonates with particular audiences that ultimately help us drive more qualified traffic to site to convert.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We meet on a weekly basis to review ad performance across all retailer accounts. The Webistry team is effective in communicating key results and optimizations. In addition, they are extremely responsive via email and are clear in the brand's requests. I rarely find that I need to provide additional clarity during ad set up.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Webistry is very hands-on and supportive. I find the team to extremely accessible and quick to respond. They provide clear recommendations and insights, many of which help to inform executive leadership. Updates are quick and seemingly instantons, which is critical to support paid strategy.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Webistry created marketing and advertising materials for my company, including various landing page experiences for different customers from Google Ads. Most of the content Webistry created was written, but they also developed visual assets, including photographs. They produced 4–5 30-second videos, handling everything from scriptwriting to audio mixing. Webistry’s team also repurposed existing materials to create landing page content. The content Webistry created was then posted on Facebook and the landing pages.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

For the sales funnels Webistry was working on, we saw a 20% higher conversion rate than before. Webistry completely exceeded my expectations, and I am 100% satisfied with their work. 

How did Webistry perform from a project management standpoint?

Webistry met all deadlines and stayed within the initial scope of the project. They adapted well to the changes we made as the project progressed. We communicated via Slack channels and had weekly Zoom meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Webistry’s small team has a lot of agility and adapts quickly to what the client needs. Their team is accommodating, which allows the project to move quickly and avoid delays.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

The downside of moving quickly with Webistry was that the scope of work wasn’t as well defined as it could’ve been — we spent about a month doing extraneous work. All of those issues could’ve been avoided if we’d spent more time scoping the project at the beginning of the engagement.

I’d advise customers to spend a lot of time scoping the project with Webistry.

Webistry is a highly skilled team — they’ve built strategic solutions and run successful campaigns that have improved our reach and engagement. We’ve dealt with funnel-related issues during the marketing project, but those have been on our team’s end.

We communicate via Slack and Google Meet. We’re satisfied with Webistry’s project management approach. They have dependable organizational skills, and they execute plans strategically.

What challenge were you trying to address with Webistry?

We were selling the travel version of our supplements after COVID-19 lifted and needed help with social media marketing and landing page creation.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In terms of landing pages, Webistry created the most beautiful and stunning designs using Unbounce. Afterwards, they integrated Shopify into those pages.

We also did loads of digital ads with Webistry, including Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, and Google Ads. Beyond execution, they helped us strategize what products to focus on and pivot to, as well as perform customer research. The travel supplement industry changed a lot because of COVID-19, and Webistry helped set our new priorities regarding products. Specifically, they helped us switch from powdered vitamins to capsules.

What is the team composition?

There were three people involved. We spoke to the founder a lot; he was our main point of contact and also the project manager.

How did you come to work with Webistry?

They were recommended to us by Unbounce. We read a case steady of theirs describing how they reduced CPA from $100 down to $1–$2, and I knew we had to work with them. They were very impressive, and it justified their higher than standard cost.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent at least $15,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July 2020–September 2020. Though we’re not currently working with them, we want to be working with them in the future on more digital ads. When we pivoted our products, we ran into a snag with the quality that caused us to stop running all ads. Once we stabilize our offering, our aim is to work with them again in the future.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Webistry was really good, but the metrics from the ads weren’t great. We were paying $100 for a $30 average cart value, so we pretty quickly had to turn the ads off because we couldn’t afford them. We learned that it had taken them about a year to get the cost from $100 to $1 or $2 for the company from their case study. We didn’t have the budget to carry on spending that much money on ads that weren’t converting even though we knew they could have gotten us there.

The landing page is converting really well, however, and we ran a successful subscription program off of it. When people reacted with mixed feelings to our product, Webistry helped us pivot to a new offering.

It wasn’t their fault that the product needed reworking, or that we didn’t have the necessary budget. Webistry’s team drove traffic, and the traffic converted. There was just a market-fit problem. We were 100% satisfied with Webistry.

How did Webistry perform from a project management standpoint?

They were brilliant, and I think they are probably the most professional agency that I have ever come across. We communicated through old-fashioned email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They build phenomenal landing pages. I wouldn’t even begin to attempt to build anything in Unbounce without them. They were just fantastic.

They managed to do something which I don’t think other agencies have done: integrate Shopify into a landing page so that a customer can buy a product without having to go to Shopify.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I generally can’t think of anything. They were truly exceptional.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Because they offer landing pages and digital ads, you want to go to them with a clean slate and ask them what they think you should do. If you go in with an open mind and let them create the best strategy for you, then I think you will get the best out of them. Let them work without interfering. You won’t be disappointed.

We’ve then witnessed that their team’s work has helped get the word out about our business, so we’ve decided to assign more tasks to them. We’ve seen an evident increase in our conversion rate since Webistry has started supporting our marketing pipeline — their ability to drive positive results to our business is our main success metric for their work. The quality of their deliverables has encouraged us to trust their team to offer us more services.

We mainly communicate via Slack. Webistry is a highly responsive team that takes both our needs and feedback into account. They come up with different ways to give us a seamless experience when we provide feedback on their design work, and they quickly implement changes based on our requests. Overall, their accommodating and humble approach accelerates the entire process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Webistry has the perfect balance between good design and marketing skills — it’s hard to find this in the works of other service providers, but their team is definitely on top of the game.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything off the top of my head — Webistry is an enjoyable and uncomplicated partner to work with.

Have a proper onboarding process and outline all your requirements and goals with full transparency to streamline the workflow and avoid sudden structural changes. We missed the opportunity to follow this process, so we ended up adding more tasks as our timelines progressed.

I am the Youth Friendly Program Lead at Apathy is Boring, a non-partisan charitable organization in Canada. We are a youth-led organization that aims to support young Canadians in becoming change makers in their everyday life through redefining civic participation and democratic engagement.

There was a kick-off meeting, we went through a list of target audience, they worked with our PR team to make the list and set goals, we met a few times to go over budget and timelines, they did research on our products and our mission and values, built the ads and submitted them for approval, ran the campaigns, midway check and performance report, re-working of ads with new adjustments, final closing meeting with final ads campaign report with recommendations.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to test out different types of ads for our services and program that led us to know that engagement ads to a wider audience was more successful then generic awareness ads targeting specific groups of people on LinkedIn.

Pretty effective it, we put a lot of trust into their team and they came through.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very open and eager to know more about our services and our mission as an NPO. They were super attentive to our needs and were always ready to listen to our voices to make sure the ads matched what we were looking to explore. They also made sure that we were aware of all the parameters of the work and the pros and cons of our choices to we could make informed decisions about the types of ads we wanted to focus on.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Maybe we should have ran more test ads in the beginning and landed on an landed on something that worked and ran that successful ad for the 3 months of engagement. However, given the limited budget we were working with, it's understandable that we couldn't invest right away in testing.

Webistry has successful cases with our parent company in Canada. This vendor is familiar with our industry, business model, and product line. So our U.S. team started working with them to extend the cooperation from Canada to the U.S.

They helped us build up the content structure for our account, which incl. the evergreen ad, product category, dynamic inventory, testimonial, etc. Then they work with our internal content manager to prepare content and set up ads. They run multiple tests to select the best performer. They helped us to improve audience targeting, ad schedule, bidding, content, and creatives, etc.

We work with one paid media specialist. Their copywriter prepares copies for us. Their VP also supervises our project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our Facebook's Cost per lead improved from $60 October, 2019 to $30 June, 2021. Those are the ads with lead generation purpose and use our website as a landing page, which does not include lead from ads.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Besides reviewing performance from Facebook manager. Webistry developed a dashboard for us. We can check the most updated information from the dashboard. We have regular bi-weekly meetings to review ad performance, plan new ads, and brainstorm. For daily communication, we use emails and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have the most updated knowledge and skillset in the digital market. They gave us much professional advice and shared with us a lot of insights.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Hope they hire a Spanish copywriter as well because we target at Spanish speaking audience in Miami and other South Florida area.

We were able to create content quickly and efficiently. We wouldn’t have been able to deliver this much content without them. The quality of their work is impressive.

We used Airtable, Google Docs, and Slack. As long as we had a process in place, they were able to work quickly. Even if we didn’t have a clear outline, they were still able to make it work.
