Digital Marketing for Craft Chocolate Brand
"Their personalized service has been very appreciated."

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the CEO of a boutique craft chocolate brand. We manufacture and retail single-origin chocolate made from Nacional cacao. Our primary channel is D2C via our website. We also offer wholesale, corporate gifting, and chocolate tastings in Ecuador.
For what projects/services did your company hire Webistry?
We were looking to reach a larger customer base and hired Webistry to establish and manage our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, followed by Google. We also looked to Webistry for support with building custom landing pages and creative content.
How did you select this vendor?
We identified Webistry through a blog article they authored on the Unbounce platform website.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Webistry conducted initial keyword and market research and recommended that we start advertising first on the Facebook platform. They also built a number of campaign landing pages on the unbounce platform. We have continually grown the scope and scale of our work with Webistry since first working together.
What was the team composition?
I've worked closely with one of the co-founders (Jon) as well as our account executives and ad buyer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We saw very strong results during 2020 and the first quarter of 2021. Following the Apple privacy changes our ROAS has been affected disproportionally as the majority of our customers are iPhone users. Since mid 2021 performance has been unpredictable but Webistry has worked hard to find creative strategies to unlock growth. They have also been willing to restructure the format of the partnership or go the extra mile with creative work.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It's effective. We receive monthly reports and bi-weekly status calls.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their personalized service has been very appreciated as well as the team's willingness to go the extra mile to produce beautiful creative work when it has been required.
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
Nothing comes to mind right now.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.

What challenge were you trying to address with Webistry?
Webistry was hired to build and manage paid ad campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, and Google to help generate sales.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They set up ad accounts on Facebook and Google and put together strategies. They also help with content and manage and launch our ad campaigns. We collaborate on creative assets and content.
What is the team composition?
We work primarily with an account manager and a creative designer. We’re also in contact with one of the senior executives.
How did you come to work with Webistry?
They were recommended to us by another company that had worked with them. They asked about our needs, and we explained what we were trying to do. They put together a proposal for us, which we discussed and approved.
How much have you invested with them?

What is the status of this engagement?
We initially worked with them in 2020. The current project we're working on started in June 2022 and is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The first time we worked with them, we saw good growth in month-to-month online sales. This time around, we have been underperforming; this is not their fault, but we haven’t seen the same results. We believe they work hard on our behalf, but we’re still far below where we’d like to be.
How did Webistry perform from a project management standpoint?
Their communication is strong from a project management standpoint. They’re consistently on schedule and budget. They have an engaged team who communicates and manages the process well. We typically communicate via Zoom and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Webistry has strong communication and is willing to work with us to find solutions. They’re flexible, and they adjust the budget as necessary. They’re good at managing their time and their attention on our company.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We don’t have any recommendations at this point.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re a good company to work with and have a great team. Make sure they’re a good fit for your company and clearly communicate your goals and needs.

I am the Chief Digital Officer for a clean haircare brand.
For what projects/services did your company hire Webistry, and what were your goals?
We were looking for support managing our paid search and paid social conversion media campaigns, and wanted a partner who felt like an extension of our in-house team, who were equally invested in growing the business and driving results.
Our goals were to increase efficiency (lower CPA) and increase sales volume from our paid campaigns.
How did you select Webistry and what were the deciding factors?
We brought on Webistry as they came highly recommended, are extremely adaptable and client-first, and are true industry experts, always on top of all the industry trends. They also provide competitive and flexible pricing/SOWs.

Please describe your company and your position there.
MyHeritage is a platform for family history research and discovery. I manage the display advertising team.
For what projects/services did your company hire Webistry, and what were your goals?
We hired Webistry to manage part of our Facebook ads activity, and drive ROI-positive traffic via Facebook ads to our website.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We had discussions with several agencies, and chose Webistry due to their ability to understand our business KPIs and goals, and the way they approached user acquisition. They also seemed to have an expertise in testing on Facebook that we lacked.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
We first went through a planning stage, where they learned about our product and acquisition funnels, and planned a strategy and budget for the first few months. Then they launched the activity and slowly ramped up while making sure they were hitting our targets every step of the way. When I requested that they focus on a certain metric, they made adjustments, and shifted their focus to match our goals. They delivered results and reported them to us in a transparent manner, keeping me in the loop any time they wanted to try something new, or run with a new video etc.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
A campaign manager and team leader. We also indirectly worked with their studio to produce new creatives.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The Facebook campaigns ran efficiently and within our budget constraints. They continuously tested new creative concepts and targeting ideas, and reported on the results in a precise manner. Their creative ideas were fresh and different from things we had tried in the past.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had a meeting once every two weeks, and communicated on an ongoing basis over slack. They are very responsive and pleasant to communicate with.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They understood our business thoroughly, without needing additional explanation, and they always highlighted the metrics we care about most.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The performance unfortunately did not quite reach our targets in all regions they were given a chance to target, but that's not due to lack of expertise, more due to market conditions..

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the VP of Marketing at Uniform Teeth. Uniform Teeth is a tech-enable orthodontic practice with clinics across the US.
For what projects/services did your company hire Webistry?
Webistry ran our Facebook (Meta) marketing.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were recommended this vendor by a trusted advisor. We selected them because they were extremely strategic and creative when it comes to both campaign optimization and CRO. They are also have unparalleled knowledge of the Facebook platform and had worked with businesses similar to ours. I confirmed that we wouldn't be pawned off onto a junior account manger despite our size, and we were not. There was senior level oversight the entire time.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We were seeing a dip in FB performance starting with the IOS changes in 2021 and our current contractor was not able to overcome the changes. We needed a more strategic team with a direct line to Facebook that could help get performance back on track.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We work with 3 people on our account on a day to day basis, all are quite experienced and senior. I also have access to executive leadership at the agency whenever needed. They have been really thoughtful with who is working on our account and involved in performance regularly.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were able to stabilize acquisition costs and drive volume without increasing CAC.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Extremely effective. We have weekly meetings to review the account, progress, and plans. We are also big slack users and have slack channels dedicated to Webistry where they are extremely responsive.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The constant flow of new ideas and emphasis on testing. Typically, after you work with an agency for a while, it becomes a little stale and there aren't a ton of new ideas. Even after over a year of working with Webistry, they come to me every single week with new ideas and new strategies to test. They are in our account every day looking at data and trying new things. I liked that they leveraged their expertise across all their accounts.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nope. I love working with them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Trade Marketing Manager at a Hair Care company, a clean, natural and effective hair care company for every hair type, texture, and need sold at Sephora and Ulta amongst other retailers. I am responsible for strategizing and executing brand marketing tactics at a retailer level.
For what projects/services did your company hire Webistry?
Webistry is Briogeo's media agency to support paid advertising set up and optimization for retailer.com.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
N/A - Contract existed before my employment
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
For paid ad set up, the brand team submits creative assets, supporting copy, ad date/time, ad budget, retailer product link, and all other set up needs via shared Google file with Webistry.
Webistry then uses all material received from the brand to set up and turn on ads directly through Facebook. On a weekly basis, the Webistry team meet with us (the brand) to review metrics/ad performance through our Dashboard (site) and recommends optimizations based on performance.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Since my employment at Briogeo (7 months) we've worked with 5 Webistry team members: Head of Growth Accounts, Paid Media Team Lead, Paid Media Analyst and Marketing Coordinator, as well as direct hands-on support from the President and Co-Founder.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since my employment, we've been testing an array of paid ads across retailer.com. Our learnings have helped us better understand the type of creative that resonates with particular audiences that ultimately help us drive more qualified traffic to site to convert.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We meet on a weekly basis to review ad performance across all retailer accounts. The Webistry team is effective in communicating key results and optimizations. In addition, they are extremely responsive via email and are clear in the brand's requests. I rarely find that I need to provide additional clarity during ad set up.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Webistry is very hands-on and supportive. I find the team to extremely accessible and quick to respond. They provide clear recommendations and insights, many of which help to inform executive leadership. Updates are quick and seemingly instantons, which is critical to support paid strategy.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
