WebGurus did a fantastic job for Inn-Flow, starting with a thorough alignment workshop to ensure everyone was on the same page. They refreshed our branding, giving the logo a modern update and creating a suite of new branding assets. The style guide they developed was incredibly useful for maintaining brand consistency. 
Their approach to website design was impressive, focusing on functionality and aesthetics across various devices. The high-fidelity prototypes they provided gave us a clear preview of the final product. They also designed some great social media templates that aligned well with our updated brand image. On the development side, WebGurus excelled with a custom WordPress theme that was both user-friendly and visually appealing.

User engagement on the website also improved, as seen in the increased average session duration and pages per session, thanks to the user-friendly design and engaging content. The branding overhaul, including the logo refresh and new branding assets, led to enhanced brand recognition, reflected in higher engagement rates and brand mentions. 
Importantly, the redesigned website achieved a lower bounce rate, suggesting that visitors found the site more relevant and engaging. I’m the executive director of Obesity Matters, a nonprofit organization. We’re dedicated to providing evidence, information, and credible resources to accept a community of people who live with obesity. We incorporated the company two years ago.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebGurus?

We were looking to develop a website for the organization.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we first signed up with WebGurus, they provided a mood board to show us how the site would look. Then, they developed the WordPress website and took care of the design. Since we deal with a highly stigmatized community, we wanted the website to be warm and welcoming because research sites are often cold and clinical. We also wanted to make it user-friendly and easy to edit so we wouldn’t be bugging WebGurus all the time.

Additionally, WebGurus guided us through the process and added third-party suppliers to the site. For example, we have payments going through Stripe to process them efficiently.

How did you come to work with WebGurus?

My son worked in tech. One of his colleagues gave me WebGurus’ contact information, and we reached out to them.

We’ve spent approximately $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2020. We launched the website in February 2021, but they still do monthly maintenance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have 18,000–19,000 users, and the page loads quickly. Moreover, we’ve gotten a lot of positive responses from sponsors and people who deal with our website. Even if our sponsors have their own patient programs, they want to link them to our website because it’s compelling and welcoming. For example, one of the biggest publishing houses in Canada partnered with us and said our site was one of the best they’ve seen. In addition, another big sponsor is using our website to do a whole PR campaign around a book.

How did WebGurus perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent, and we have open communication. We have meetings every two weeks. If we need to do anything, we can contact them. We can also send them a message if something urgent comes up. We mainly use emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

WebGurus is very efficient and quick; they know exactly what we need. Also, they have an excellent design perspective and are easy to work with. They’re courteous and patient.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The initial development took a bit longer. However, it was due to other factors, and it wasn’t such a big deal because we were still in time for launch.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Setting up meetings is good for keeping the project on track. Since everybody is busy these days, we initially communicated via email. However, we saw that we could get lost in translation, so we started having biweekly meetings.

I run a boutique visual design agency. With my team, we specialize in branding solutions for our clients — establishing a brand through the use of logo, web, and collateral design.

Márton and I had collaborated on a design and development project in the past. I had prepared the design and he (along with his team) built the functioning website. I was left impressed with his work then and wanted to find ways to work together in the future.

We had an initial kick-off where we connected on the existing design. He provided me with feedback on next steps before they could get started on development. He recommended the appropriate tools and way forward for the development.

After the launch, I've received a lot of positive feedback from our client. They were impressed with the ease of use and were excited to see the site live.

We communicated via email and set up calls via Márton's Calendly account.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I thought it was very useful to connect via Calendly. Márton making himself available through that tool encouraged easy communication, which made delivering feedback very helpful.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think there was some friction at the beginning in terms of communication but that was before I understood that setting up a Calendly call would be the best case scenario.

I'm head of digital of an Austrian / American art gallery that organizes exhibitions but also art fairs and other events.

All stakeholders of the two websites are very satisfied with the outcome. We received very positive feedback also from journalists and public media.

Users have loved our new site. The site design has been so effective that it’s allowed me to sell design services to others. We’re also ranking at the very top positions, which is a testament to the team’s SEO capabilities.

They performed very well. We utilized both Trello and Basecamp, so the project was handled in a very structured manner.

I’d encourage them to hire more people because demand is going to catch up to them

Be very specific about what you need. Projects like this require a little bit of foresight on your part, so make sure you have a good grasp of what you’re asking for.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a startup that connects consumers with brands using near field communication (NFC) enabled products. We embed small microchips in products so consumers can connect with them through their mobile phones. I’m the founder and CEO of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with WebGurus?

We were looking for a partner to build a prototype, MVP, and then the product itself. It was important for us to hire an experienced team with a web development background and strong UI/UX designers. There were tons of screens and design aspects of the project. Because this is a novel technology, we needed an experienced tech consulting partner.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I planned the project in advance, documenting their future responsibilities. So, I provided them with the product brief and workshops that detailed this complex project. From there, they designed and developed the entire product. I don’t have a development background, but they spent a lot of time working with APIs, VueJS, NodeJS, JavaScript, Laravel and JSON. At this point, they’ve rolled out a useable version of the platform. Companies are now using the product. 

They built my website for the company as well. For that project, they used WordPress and HTML coding. In their work, they used a broad range of web-based technologies with us.

We worked with 9–10 people  

How did you come to work with WebGurus?

In 2018, I needed someone to build a proof of concept mobile in the form of a mobile app connected to AWS. The product was for a local winery, and they partnered with me on that. We had a mutual business connection, so we started working together.

We spent between $80,000–$90,000 on their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2018, and they’re still involved in supporting the product with new features and implementations.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve received tons of positive feedback. Of course, some of the feedback pointed to small issues here and there. There weren’t any major problems.  

How did WebGurus perform from a project management standpoint?

We used both Jira and Confluence to manage our projects. They’ve used those quite successfully, so there are no issues from this side. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have broad web experience and really know their stuff. They’re also experienced UI/UX builders, which allows their work to look awesome. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They have broad experience but are hesitant to show it off. I’d recommend that they showcase more of their portfolio to prospective clients. This will help inspire new customers.

Know what you want to be built going into the development. They’re good at what they do, so things should go well as long as you manage the project effectively.

I'm the Manager of Brand and Web Design at Blueshift. Blueshift is an Intelligent Customer Engagement Platform in the martech space.

We hired WebGurus to create a new custom backend for our marketing website as well as to develop our web design system into usable blocks for the marketing team to be able to easily add and edit website content.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have an ongoing working relationship with WebGurus for design assistance and website updates. As Blueshift experienced rapid growth our website needed to be able to scale quickly to keep up with demand. WebGurus proposed creating a new lightweight scalable backend and developing our web design system.

The project had a hard 4-month deadline. We met regularly with the team to collaborate on design system updates and block implementation. We closely QA'd the project together and WebGurus led a massive manual content migration. They assisted from start to finish helping us launch and QA the website.

We worked primarily with two team members. A lead developer and design systems lead that also led the content migration.

We experienced minor bugs when we launched, but their team was able to resolve the issues quickly.
