I’m the head of Cosmetology and Dermatology at Tas Med. We’re a pharmaceutical company producing differentiated, high-quality medicines for chronic problems.

We needed to develop an internal ERP solution and a Salesforce mobile application.  

What were your goals for this project?

We set out to build an integrated, real-time view of our core business processes (order processing, inventory management) with the ERP. The Salesforce app would give our representatives instant access to our company’s data.

After an extensive online search for custom software development companies, we shortlisted several based on their customer reviews and work history. We reached out to Walkwel and they followed up with us proactively. Several detailed discussions about our business and users convinced us to assign Walkwel the task.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Walkwel handled end-to-end application development including design, animation, development, integration, and deployment. The ERP covers all of our business departments, tracking resources and process status for customer and purchase orders and employee payroll. Medical field representatives used the Salesforce mobile app to select a doctor or retailer from a list and update their visit information with brands prescribed and gifts distributed.

What was the team composition?

Walkwel dedicated seven team members to our portal. We worked with a project manager, a business analyst, two full stack developers, a UX/UI resource, a tester, and a system admin.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The ERP has centralized previously dispersed processes and magnified our monetary gains by reducing overhead. Regarding the Salesforce application, our representatives report that its dynamic interface is efficient and easy to use.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

They used project management tools including Zoho and GitHub, which made it easy to deal directly with their team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their problem-solving ability was outstanding, as was their comprehensive delivery of all requested modules.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, not that I saw. They should keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with them on future requirements.

We sought to expand our campus digitally by exploring technical solutions. Walkwel Technology did a deep dive into our organization to understand our business requirements before suggesting a university management system (UMS). 

What were your goals for this project? 

We wanted to streamline all of our processes via a digital campus, so Walkwel Technology developed a custom software solution to increase our productivity.

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online for potential candidates and shortlisted a few who matched our requirements. Compared to other vendors, Walkwel Technology had a rich portfolio for custom software development within the education sector. After a meaningful in-person discussion, we decided to move ahead with them. 

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail. 

Walkwel Technology worked with us to build a secure, robust, and scalable UMS. Initially, they created a proof of concept (POC), which was a clickable prototype to show the potential user value our system could provide. Their business analyst then presented a handbook that contained a detailed description of our entire product. From there, they developed an MVP that could securely issue and manage certificates via blockchain technology, and we’re now discussing further development options.

The team consisted of six members, including a solution architect, a business analyst, two full-stack developers, a designer, and a QA specialist.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Since going live, the software has minimized our overhead and manpower reliably by streamlining our objectives. Our users have also regularly praised its professional look and user-friendly feel. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it? 

They implemented an agile project management methodology carried out over Jira and Skype. The team was always proactive, asking questions and acting quickly to meet our deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were a true business partner. The team was as excited for the project as we were, and they were open to giving us suggestions on how to improve our product.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, not at all. I would love to see them achieve new horizons.

PhD - Online is an EdTech ERP that helps high-level university authorities coordinate PhD programs. As a senior business consultant, I handle the business operations for our online portal.

For what projects/services did your company hire Walkwel Technology?

We hired Walkwel Technology to create our ERP from scratch, including design and development. The aim was to have a functional platform that universities could use to automate and manage the work involved in running a PhD program.

What were your goals for this project? 

They needed to build our ERP using a flexible technology stack so that it could easily integrate with a university’s existing tools (e.g., account management, payroll, deposit fees). By having an API-driven architecture, we could easily extend each API in the long run.

How did you select this vendor?

We reviewed Walkwel Technology’s portfolio, which featured strong projects within the education field. After sending our queries to the sales team and having recursive discussions, we signed an NDA and started the project.

Walkwel Technology developed our ERP solution from the ground up, handling the creative design, development, deployment, testing, and digital marketing.

The idea was to create an online platform where universities could manage the entire process behind running a PhD program. With our product, universities could keep track of courses and coordinate admission logistics with minimal manual effort. 

What was the team composition?

They assigned a dedicated project manager along with 10 specialists, including a business analyst, a Scrum master, three developers, two high-end UI/UX specialists, a QA tester, and admins.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The quality of the product was great. The user interface was simple, elegant, and user-friendly, which helped students access their information easily. Thanks to the ERP, we were able to secure our first university client within 17 days of launch and have seen a good response from the market. We now have over 5,000 active users after only eight months. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it? 

Walkwel Technology followed an agile methodology, using Jira and Zoho to ensure a smooth process. These tools allowed us to see a complete report on work status. In addition, the project manager kept us updated between development stages and strictly followed timelines. 

What did you find most impressive about this company? 

Their agile process kept everything transparent, whether it was a piece of code, a design, or a strategy. We also found it easy to work with their project manager because he was knowledgeable enough to communicate each step. 

Are there any areas for improvement? 

No, not that I can think of. So far, it’s been good.

We hired Walkwel Technology to develop a beta version for initial release of a chat website. The website's core functionalities were to include text chat, video chat, and mutual interest matching.

How did you select this vendor?

We selected this vendor because of their overall ratings on a contracting website.

The project entailed developing a chat website based on existing design exemplars. The site's core functionalities were built in AngularJS.

What was the team composition?

We co-managed the project and provided the designs to the vendor. We had a web developer who was responsible the website and a management team who contacted us via regular Skype chats.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

The project was divided in various milestones, all of which required payment either upfront or during implementation. To date, the website, along with the milestones involving its core functionalities, still contain several major bugs the vendor has failed to resolve.

How effective was the project management?

It was initially very supportive and helpful. However, as the project progressed and we encountered several recurring bugs, the management became less supportive and no longer treated us as a client.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The web developer was friendly and supportive. The managers, however, were single-minded, purely focused on revenue, and inattentive to our goals and needs. They were ignorant and blamed us for the quality of work delivered.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

They can improve their overall management structure as well as their communication channels. They can also implement a different cost structure that allows clients to pay at the end of a project, rather than one that requires payment for incomplete milestones.

Company Responses

The initial project was an AngularJS website with text chat. Throughout, Mr. Sheldon continued increasing the requirements, and despite additional overheads, we kept working since the client was already invested. He got ultimately got a multi-thousand dollar project completed for less than $1,000. Mr. Sheldon's review states he has wasted his time; however, he got a very good deal at this price.

The project came to us via a contracting website. After some time, Mr. Sheldon started privately messaging our developer, asking him to work independently outside the company for his project. Things went poorly since it's against our company’s ethics. Mr. Sheldon tried to get work done without the agency (i.e. us). We took up the matter with him and he retorted by threatening to defame us. So we decided to stop our work immediately. The website was already up and running, with its original features working properly.

However, he continued contacting us for free after-delivery support and not paying extra.

We have many satisfied clients in 16+ countries (Mr. Sheldon admits he chose to work with us after seeing ratings on the contracting website). Our other clients have good things to tell about us. We have been in business for over 5 years with a team of 50+ IT professionals, all due to positive reviews from our clients. We are devoted to customer success, but only if done professionally and ethically.

I only had to provide specifications to Walkwel Technology, and they took care of the rest. I found it easy to work with their team.

It would help to consider time zone differences and country-specific holidays in advance of a project.
