We wanted to create a digital weighing scale, and they helped us achieve that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We first talked with their management. After that, we collected all requirements of the product and estimated them all. We then created the design for our product and their developer started to create our product and regularly kept us in the loop.

There is one platform for Android and every scale has a display with Android. The mobile and web app that they developed are in PHP language, and the desktop version is made using Python. Both the mobile and web application is synced to the digital weighing scale. 

VRG Soft developed an Android application, where there's a publication for creating the database. You can create an account on the website with your database and connect it with the digital scale. Then, you can update the database, make changes, and upload these updates on your scale.

For the people that don't have an internet connection, they can create a program to create a database and use a USB to connect to the scale.

Their team also held demonstrations occasionally, allowing us to check the progress of our product, give feedback to the developers, and request a change whenever possible.

Currently, they’re providing maintenance support for the app.

I work with six people from the VRG Soft team: a project manager who also served as a business analyst, a QA engineer, an Android developer, a PHP developer, a Python developer, and a designer.

How did you come to work with VRG Soft?

We found them online. We met with the CEO, who referred us to their sales department, wherein we got an estimation of the project. We then talked with the project manager. Their office was also close to ours, which would allow us to meet very often face to face and hold demonstrations. From that, we decided to work with them because we saw how their developers worked in the office.

We started working together in June 2021, and our engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In terms of quality, they’ve done an amazing job on the application — it had very minimal bugs. During demonstrations, they always showed us quality results. Overall, we’re very satisfied with the outcome of the app that they developed.

How did VRG Soft perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done an amazing job with scheduling and delivering the project. We expected the project to last for nine months, but they finished everything in seven. I’m glad they’ve delivered the project ahead of schedule and within our budget.

Initially, we used Redmine as the project management tool but eventually switched to Jira where their project manager describes every task with an estimate. We also have face-to-face meetings with their project manager on a weekly basis. We communicate daily via Telegram.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very communicative and responsive, and they solve our problems quickly. Apart from that, the quality of the product is very nice — you can tell that their QA engineer works hard. Their designer is also flexible in accommodating our requests for changes.

I don't think they need to do anything differently; I’m very satisfied with their work.

The team developed an Android app for parking management. They used Android cameras and video streams. They ran several types of an algorithm to search for the stream. We also had two different interfaces. One was web-based, and the second is a native Android interface to show the results and interact with users.

The Android product was specifically for a client that was going to use it on 10–15 devices. The other was for a computer-closed ecosystem that was an APK release to end users.

I was directly involved with three people. They did include others that I didn’t know of.

They developed a media player for personal use. The app makes it easy to transfer videos from a computer to a phone. Users can watch videos within the app, listen to them with the screen turned off, and export them into the camera roll for editing and sharing to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. It also includes advanced playback controls, including speed ratio and intuitive gesture controls.
