The project aims to improve the PROSUMIO app by integrating gamified learning tasks. PROSUMIO UG provides the prototype of the educational app as a basis, which makes it possible to promote sustainability skills across disciplines with individual learning tasks and real, collaborative activities. 
By adding gamified elements to existing learning tasks, the competitiveness of the product is to be strengthened and templates for creating classic types of learning tasks are to be provided for teachers. In addition, individualizable learning badges are to be implemented to enable teachers to support students individually.

Voypost's project management is top-notch. I didn't have to chase on anything and just had to concentrate on giving feedback.

Although we had a change in brief a couple of weeks into the project, we did find that the designer onboard could have presented more design options. We did end up contributing much more to the design than needed.

They could work on a better handover process from the web developer to our team. Other than a written doc and some videos, a call would have been helpful. We needed additional time for UAT and I believe a two week period is essential. Other than that, happy with the outcome.

We worked with Voypost to enhance digital Fuelfinance products by developing more advanced dashboards and automated business flows. We needed to extend our product functionality to meet the increasing demands of our users. Voypost helped us with custom software development (web and mobile) of new product features and capabilities. They created powerful dashboards and automated processes specifically designed for the financial services sector, including SaaS, construction, and other SME businesses. 
Also, as far as I know, they created a few APIs to receive some specific data from external sources. We chose Voypost because of their good reputation and recommendations from other companies. Additionally, one of our employees has a personal connection with Voypost's CEO, Nikita, which influenced our trust in the partnership. What I personally liked about Voypost team, they want to reach an extra mile in their work and provide more value than a regular development process.

We communicated with them daily, just like with remote team members. Updates on sprint progress usually came on Mondays or Fridays. We used Monday.com for task management and had sync calls. Also, we were making good use of Loom for recording key updates. The team was responsive, and they proactively reached out to us show the progress, no issues.

What I can definitely highlight, it’s their commitment to going the extra mile in every task, proactively suggesting new ideas, sharing key industry updates, and involving a Business Analyst to polish our ideas. Sometimes we followed their advice, sometimes we didn’t. But it’s all about the approach and desire to make things better. My team and I really enjoyed it.

We were developing a large platform that helps non profits better communicate with their supporters. We needed someone that could help with our mobile app and our website. The goal was to build out about 15-20 features that were parallel on our mobile app and website. We needed authentication, email sending features, custom reminders, a social media posting experience and more. We had designs ready and just needed someone to build.

our project went from 30% complete to 80% complete in 6 months. It was a large project and many things were accomplished and well organized. One of the things done was getting our mobile app ready for our private beta team. This was a big milestone for such a large project and only a few developers.

They delivered on time. I was very impressed with their commitment to our schedule and how hard Vasyl worked. They listened well to our needs and were very thoughtful in different parts of the development process.

Project management style is very interactive and hands on. Utilise Slack for communication and other project management platforms allowing clients to stay on top of project progress, milestones, and timelines.

We were impressed with the hands-on nature and attention to detail of the project team, from budget and estimate preparation, to staffing, and ongoing project management. Also willing and able to go over and beyond specs of project by suggesting areas for improvement and most optimal route to project completion.

Also had direct access to CEO as and when needed for higher level discussions—and to provide feedback when necessary. Another very impressive quality was their solicitation of feedback of where and how to improve and what they could do better in future engagements.

Perhaps relatively less use of some project management software that may (or may not) be relevant for certain projects or clients with less technical skillset. However, this has to be judged on a case by case basis.

I’m the CTO and development manager of Shape Digital, an agency that manages custom application development and transformation projects for clients. Our projects go from rebuilding e-commerce websites and making integrations with typical platforms to building brand new web-based or mobile applications.

What challenge were you trying to address with Voypost?

A client of ours had a backed ERP system on their website, but the website was outdated. Thus, they wanted to build a new website from scratch, for which they required custom development due to their backend system. As a small agency, we mainly work with third-party providers and outsource a lot of our development work because we manage a lot of projects. For this project specifically, we hired Voypost to help us out.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Voypost helped us create a brand new wholesale e-commerce site for our client. We started the project with some introductory meetings. Then, we provided them with designs and detailed requirements, after which they started the development process. Throughout the project, they delivered various features as they finished them for us to test them. Whenever we found bugs, they fixed them, and they moved on to the next phase after our approval.

As far as technologies, the website was built on Next.js. Our client had quite complex requirements for their site’s search engine feature, so Voypost helped us create the software architecture for that feature.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the owner and founder of the company, who was present in the initial meetings and touched base with us at various points of the project to see how it was going. He also provided assistance with some of the architecture requirements. We also worked with a project manager, who was the liaison between their developers and us. Voypost’s development team included three developers, a technical lead who reviewed their codes, and a QA analyst who supported testing.

How did you come to work with Voypost?

We found them on a job posting website. We looked at a few different partners and selected Voypost because they seemed the most suitable for us; the way they worked seemed to fit our needs. We also had quite urgent requirements, so we had to get started quickly, and they were available to start working immediately.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Voypost in August 2021, and they completed the project in March 2022. After that, we engaged in a two-sprint maintenance contract, the first sprint cycle happening in May 2022 and the second in June 2022. The site is now complete, but we might engage with them again for future changes based on our client’s requirements.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

A month after the site was launched, our client provided us with the following success metric: they went from making $1,000 per day on sales to $10,000. It was an impressive result.

How did Voypost perform from a project management standpoint?

Voypost’s project management was very good. The project was quite challenging due to the client’s strict requirements; they changed their mind a few times throughout the project. Still, Voypost was very flexible and adjusted to the changes as those kept coming. We also adjusted the management process a few times according to the difficulty of those changes, but they seamlessly adjusted their style to meet our needs.

I had weekly video conference calls via Google Meet with the project manager, but I also communicated directly with the developers to speed up the process when small changes or questions were needed. Voypost used Monday to manage the project, and we internally used Trello to manage the tasks and their progress. On their end, I know that the development team had daily meetings with the project manager because they provided us with details of those meetings, including a review of what they had accomplished for the day. They provided us with those details over Slack for us to provide feedback as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Voypost provides high-quality development work. As a small agency working with different providers, we don’t always have positive results. However, working with Voypost, the technical quality of their deliverables was never a concern for us; they really stood out for that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Considering the challenges of the project, Voypost did a great job overall. We had a recap meeting to discuss the good and bad things about the project, and the majority of the improvements we agreed on for future projects were around streamlining our communication, improving our processes, and setting better expectations. The project wasn’t as organized as the projects they were used to, so it took them some time to adjust. Still, improvements were needed on both sides, so I wouldn’t hold them entirely accountable for that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure that your business requirements are clear and that you can communicate those effectively. Doing that will result in a more efficient process, and there will be less back and forth.

I’m the chief product and technology officer (CPTO) of Parqio, a technology startup.

What challenge were you trying to address with Voypost?

We needed to develop our product as quickly as possible to roll it out in the market. Around the third month of the development process, we brought in Voypost to help us out.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Voypost came in to help us with mobile app development. However, their scope has expanded since then, and they’ve also helped us with web app development and backend development.

As for the mobile app, Voypost has built it from scratch using React Native, making it compatible with iOS and Android. They’ve also built the web app from scratch using React and Node.js. It works as the administration app that helps us manage our products, but it also allows users to manage their locations.

In addition to those projects, Voypost offers ongoing maintenance, and we leverage their development resources through an open-ended contract. Thus, whenever we have new projects, their resources come in and do the work. For example, they’re currently helping us with hardware development, more specifically with IoT Raspberry Pi projects.

We found them on a website, so they were kind of a referral. We’ve been very fortunate to have them on board.

The app developed by Voypost has reached around 8,000 users since December 2020.

How did Voypost perform from a project management standpoint?

Voypost is performing well. They work directly with me, so I’m the one running the project management. Still, we have very tight sprint cycles, and their team works very well and delivers good work on time. Initially, they offered to manage the project, but I declined because I wanted to keep a close relationship with the development team.

We use Kitemaker to manage the project. As for communication, initially, we used Slack to communicate, but we then moved to Keybase.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Voypost’s biggest strengths are the recruitment, hiring, and training processes they have in place. They put a lot of emphasis on upskilling their team and making sure that they’re constantly learning and growing, which is very valuable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We’ve had a very constructive and productive relationship, and I’m currently considering bringing them into a different project for a different company.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have very clear scope and task descriptions to minimize the chances of misunderstandings. Additionally, have multiple sprint meetings and follow up on each sprint cycle because the best way to leverage a remote team is to have good communication.

We searched and interviewed with a handful of vendors, VoyPost were the only ones to really understand our position being a young startup and being lean with our current MVP build. We were also impressed with their technical ability and recommendations from early conversations.

We had an account manager that was our main source of contact and had excellent communication skills throughout. There were also multiple front end developers and other technical colleagues helping with code quality and tech architecture.

It's too early to tell currently but I'm confident our production bug count will plummet as a result of VoyPost introducing best practices, TypeScript and testing to our tech stack.

We agreed on using monday.com as a ticketing board and a weekly demo from our account manager. We were able to make constant contact to the team and our account manager through slack.

As a small start up we were slightly hindered with our lumpy MVP, VoyPost were aware of this and took this in stride, adapting to the limitations to stay on budget and on the timeline. As well as this their constant communication and code quality met and exceeded our expectations.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Possibly the only confusing aspect was paying through upwork, as we were new to upwork too the initial contract setup was sub par. I think both parties have learned from this and this will be better in future.

It’s hard to say. They aren’t the cheapest on the market but once we started working with them we realised that the price was equal to the quality delivered.

We shortlisted multiple companies and set up calls. After these calls we decided Voypost was the best fit for our project team. They had a similar working flow.

Our team delivered the development roadmap, architecture and prototype, which was discussed with Voypost beforehand to discuss the optimal stack. We met all deadlines for the timeline of the project. Voypost delivered great work and took on a lot of tasks. They never failed to deliver and when there was something that had to be done for a certain time (demo or deadline) they would put in the extra hours to ensure completeness.
