I am the CMO of a network software company, and we provide B2B technology.

What challenge were you trying to address with VisualWebz, LLC?

We wanted to deliver a new message into a crowded marketplace that relied on traditional technologies. We also wanted our website to thoroughly explain our technology, as our buyers tended to desire in-depth information rather than face-value selling points.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

VisualWebz is developing a couple of sites for us using WordPress —focusing on three areas. First, their team oversees creative development by listening to our technological ideas and coming up with feasible solutions. This is a back and forth process of discovering the optimal ideas for the project. Second, their team creates a system that makes it easy to update, manage, and add information; This helps us develop meaningful changes in a quick timeframe. Third, they manage the website 24/7 to safeguard against attacks and security issues; They update the software and websites to make sure everything is running smoothly.

What is the team composition?

My primary contact is the principal of the VisualWebz.

How did you come to work with VisualWebz, LLC?

I created an ad on a third-party website and received a couple of bids. I also asked other colleagues for references and interviewed some vendors over the phone. VisualWebz’s principal really impressed me with his understanding of the subject. He was originally born in England and brought a great level of comfort to our exchange.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $150,000 —$200,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the engagement in 2013 and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

During our first year with VisualWebz, our leads and sales from our website were twice the sales from our salesmen. We received a lot of contacts through the site and it helped reduce costs as we needed fewer salesmen.

Our newest website processes everything online and is a software as a service (SaaS). It processes purchases, supply, and management—saving time and money.

How did VisualWebz perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is fantastic. Their principal is incredibly quick to respond, and I never feel uninformed about the progress. In the beginning, we contacted each other via phone 2–3 times a day. Then, we moved on to regular 30-minute morning calls. Now, there are no problems and only contact each other for unexpected problems.

Their team quickly organizes tasks and uses simple methods like online spreadsheets, so everyone can stay connected. They maintain a good understanding of our business. We use Microsoft Dynamics, conference calls, and email to ensure this. The biggest problem I have is not with them, but with our own team members—who change their ideas last minute. Even with our last-minute decisions, their team is flexible to our needs and will even work through the night if needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

VisualWebz is exceptionally cost-effective and is honest about their work. If there’s anything we don’t like, they take the feedback and improve. Their billing is brilliantly organized, and we never have problems with budgeting or negotiating hours. Their team makes things simple, easy, and are a pleasure to work with. I have no hesitation in hiring them again and again for future projects.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They don’t code in HTML and use WordPress. It’s brilliant, fast, and works well, but HTML might be necessary for our creative projects in the future.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a shot and show them your project. They'll probably do a good job. Make sure to estimate the impact it will have and how much it's going to cost.
