I’m the CEO of Evolve Solutions Group, a consulting company that focuses on management consulting in the training, learning, and organizational development fields.  We work with mid-sized enterprises to design, develop, and implement learning and development solutions.

What challenge were you trying to address with Visible Logic?

We were in need of a brand refresh and had to focus on our audience and marketing activities. As a result, we hired Visible Logic to help us realign our brand, messaging, and approach with our target clients. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Visible Logic initially did a review of the marketplace. They looked at our products and buyers to better understand the key influencers and markets we were targeting. The team conducted an online survey of our clients, partners, and known organizations to our company. 

They then used the data they gathered to develop a report on the key messaging preferences of our clients and partners. Apart from that, the report talked about what our partners saw in terms of our brand and what they thought about our company.

Based on that report, our team worked with Visible Logic to determine our next steps in terms of rebranding and messaging. Some of the tasks were redoing our logo, creating a new color palette, and creating a library of images and icons — these were representative of what the market expected to see from us. Beyond these, the team worked on photography and print collateral.

I worked with Emily (Owner) and another person who worked on the design and creative aspects of the project. They were my main points of contact.

I knew Emily from before; we worked together in the past. She was one of the three vendors that I considered for this project — Visible Logic was an automatic inclusion in our list of vendors. Their pricing, availability, and client management and communication made them an easy choice for us.

Our investment was between $5,000–$10,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from March–August 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Anecdotal evidence proved that our new branding was much more palatable. It attracted more attention — the brand, messaging, and color scheme spoke to the audience much better than before. As a result, the client and partner perception of our company improved significantly.

Moreover, our branding materials and collateral became much more professional-looking. Our team had a much clearer idea of what our message, vision, and values were, all of which aligned with the expectations of our clients and partners. 

How did Visible Logic perform from a project management standpoint?

Visible Logic’s project management was great. Everything was managed on time and on schedule. We were always informed about when to expect things — there was great communication around project timelines. To communicate, we used emails, phone calls, and Zoom. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility was impressive — the services we specifically needed were available. Our company had worked with various other firms for design, visuals, marketing, and advertising, but the Visible Logic team was the only one that put together a solution that truly worked for us. Overall, their key differentiator was that they could truly meet the client’s needs and provide working solutions to their customers. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren’t any. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You absolutely should work with Visible Logic. They’re good at what they do and great at client management. The team has great communication and collaboration skills, so I highly recommend them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Visible Logic?

We needed a website to promote our educational offerings.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Visible Logic has initially helped us refurbish our logo to incorporate our new branding goals. We’ve wanted the website’s design to be symmetrical with our new logo, so they’ve derived the color schemes, fonts, and themes from the logo’s design elements as they’ve conceptualized our site. On top of our branding preferences, we’ve also needed a single-page website to feature all our offerings.

Their team has also produced a promotional video for our social and emotional learning programs as part of our branding efforts. Upon completing the post-production modifications, they’ve launched the videos on our website.

Our main point of contact is Lauren (Account Manager), and we’ve worked with two other resources from Visible Logic’s team.

One of our board members introduced Visible Logic’s team to us.

We’ve spent about $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with their team started in April 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I can’t share any quantifiable metrics at this point as we’re still trying to recover and maximize our sales in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. From our team’s perspective, Visible Logic has utilized their skill set strategically to meet our branding and production needs. The videos they’ve crafted accurately capture our institution’s core vision — we’re impressed with how they’ve managed to deploy creative production solutions despite pandemic-related restrictions.

How did Visible Logic perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicate via Zoom. Visible Logic is a communicative and proactive team that understands our goals. Additionally, they’ve taken their time to study our business, which has enabled them to craft tailored solutions for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re most impressed with their responsiveness and self-motivation, which have made the process more manageable despite the challenges we’ve met.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re a small team that strives to expand their network — I feel like they’ve overpromised a bit during the scoping stage. Although I don’t see it as an issue, we’ll appreciate more transparency next time.

Trust their credible team to meet your needs and show genuine interest and care for your business.

I’m the volunteer race director for a marathon in Maine put on by a nature club.

What challenge were you trying to address with Visible Logic?

We needed help with marketing and advertising.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Visible Logic helps us define how the event should be marketed, to whom, and where. To do this, they define the aspects of the event that we think are most appealing.

Over the years, they’ve helped us create a new logo, marketing calendar, and advertising and social media plans.

Because we’re a destination event, they develop messaging about how were more than just a race. Rather, we’re an event in a city known for its restaurants, breweries, and recreation opportunities.

While one of our volunteers handles our social media accounts, Visible Logic creates the content and graphics that we post, ensuring that they align with our branding. They’ve also done SEO, PPC, and SEM work.

Finally, they developed a new website from scratch for us and maintain it.

What is the team composition?

Typically, I deal with three people: the owner (who has the skill sets that our team needs), the account manager (who I deal with most), and a support person. The latter tweaks the website and handles the more mechanical stuff.

How did you come to work with Visible Logic?

I knew Emily (President) as a friend and runner. They’re a local firm and were in competition with a national firm for this project. Visible Logic’s proposal showed a greater understanding of what we needed. The other volunteers made a unanimous decision to go with Visible Logic as well. Their work was individualized for the Maine marathon, while the national firm delivered a template with a few minor tweaks.

How much have you invested with them?

We invest around $20,000 per year with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since February 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our event has grown every year while many competing events have had difficulty maintaining numbers and shrinking. Our runner surveys have given us a world-class net promoter score as well. Everyone who attends is every pleased with experience.

In terms of metrics, our social media presence has grown, and our pre-registrations have gone up by 86%.

How did Visible Logic perform from a project management standpoint?

They keep me informed at every step and excel at meeting deadlines. Beyond that, they’re responsive, easy-to-work with, and proactive — raising opportunities I haven’t thought of yet. I only have positive things to say about them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Visible Logic provides personalized service. Sometimes other vendors are too busy with other clients, and you can feel that. I don’t feel that energy from Visible Logic, as they treat me like I’m their only client.

They bring experience that is hard to find in volunteers. We’re a nonprofit with no paid staff, so their wealth of knowledge helps us to market the event.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This is a joke, but they could donate their services for free but they’re too small to afford that.

Be upfront with your expectations and then let them respond. They’re responsive and usually very on-target.

They built a website for our business and are currently giving maintenance to it. Visible Logic has also been helping us with customer email collection, couponing offers, logo design efforts, graphics, signage, layout, and the slogan for our business.

We’ve been working mainly with Emily (President) and DeAnne (Senior Designer and Developer).

How did you come to work with Visible Logic?

Emily was one of our customers; she told us what she did and showed us Visible Logic’s website. We then set up a meeting with her, and things went from there.

I'm the CEO of Literacy Tech Inc, and we are an EdTech company. We're building a web-based independent reading app for educators and students in grades 4–12.

What challenge were you trying to address with Visible Logic?

We needed help with web development and marketing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Visible Logic helped us set up our company’s branding and website. To start, they helped ground us by taking our vision and breaking it down into manageable pieces that were also financially attainable. In the process, the team identified our target market, thought up a name for our app, and created our logo. They also sent a style guide and images to use on social media and our website.  

Afterward, Visible Logic went on to design and develop our WordPress website. It has a payment system that is integrated with HubSpot and a plugin called Gravity Forms that allows us to collect forms. They offered us many options and their opinion on them, and we chose the technology to use based on that. Content-wise, the Visible Logic team handled it all. They applied stock images and created marketing videos. Additionally, they helped us write the copy and made sure that the wording was how we wanted it.

They’ve since helped us gain more funding for the app. Together with the Visible Logic team, we’re currently in the product development stages of the second version of the app.

Our primary contact was Emily (President). We also worked with three other teammates: a web developer, a copywriter, and a HubSpot expert.

We found them on the Internet. Visible Logic won the Top Gun Pitch-Off in 2016, so we chose them.

We’ve spent between $20,000–$30,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in November 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Visible Logic has been instrumental in helping us win Top Gun and get funding from the Maine Technology Institute (MTI). We wouldn’t have been able to get funding if we didn’t have a name, logo, or any of the marketing pieces the Visible Logic team created for us. Overall, we’ve gotten over $120,000 worth of funding that we wouldn’t have gotten if they didn’t help us look like a well-established, professional company.

How did Visible Logic perform from a project management standpoint?

Visible Logic’s project management has been excellent. They’re very realistic and meet all their deadlines. Furthermore, they’re very honest and upfront about what they can do while remaining very flexible to changes. We used Google Docs when we were writing the draft of the copy. The team then uploaded it to a dummy site for us to look at and approve before they make it live on the site. 

Additionally, their communication skills and response times are excellent. We communicate through Slack, email, and phone calls. We also use Google Meet and Zoom to check in and work through things. We’ve never met in person because of COVID-19, but the team was able to adjust well. Visible Logic has done an outstanding job even without meeting with us in person, and the project has worked out really well. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Marketing used to be one of our weakest areas, and Visible Logic’s guidance has helped us work through that. There’s a lot to learn, but we trust them to give us intelligent options to choose from. It’s a nice balance between them giving us advice and us making the decision. They helped with the decision-making process while letting us have a voice as well.

Visible Logic is also really competitive with its pricing. The team’s flexibility allows them to help their clients get what they need at a price point that they can afford. Overall, they’ve brought us to where we needed to be. That’s why we want to develop a long-term relationship with them. It’s been a very positive and fulfilling partnership for both of us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think they could do anything differently.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you work with them, it helps to solve the short-term problems along with the long-term ones. That way, all the elements of your organization are connected and integrated in a way that fits really well.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our company selected Visible Logic before I joined, but as a newly installed CEO several years back I obviously had the task of deciding what was working and what needed fixing. The relationship with Visible Logic was clearly working so it was definitely not an area that needed changing.

We have worked with Visible Logic on an ongoing basis for years, but we've also worked with them on multiple sub-projects. Optimizing the website for speed, adding new sections, or updating the home page as just a few small examples. We've never actually met with the Visible Logic folks in person, but the projects always work out. Well planned, well-executed - just an overall great team to work with.

We have worked with multiple people over the years. No one has ever disappointed.

Our website continues to get kudos for content and design. It's never done, but Visible Logic helps keep us looking relevant.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent. As noted above, never meeting in person has not been a challenge or slowed down work. Projects are well planned and executed according to agreed schedules.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Like any company, we've had our occasional "stat issues" come up. Visible Logic has always found a way to find a resource to help us out. In short, they've always had our back.

If I'm being reasonable, nothing I can put a finger on. They just get their work done.

We then started on colors and logo that reinforced the branding agreed upon.
