Their project management was highly organized and efficient. They consistently delivered items on time, often meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality. Regular updates and clear communication were key components of their approach, ensuring that I was always aware of the project's progress.

In terms of responsiveness, they were quick to address any of my concerns or requests. Whether it was a need for additional revisions or urgent tweaks, their team was flexible and accommodating. The project involved applying our new visual brand to our existing website. We provided Veza with updated designs for nine of our pages plus global styles updates. The work also involved creating the backend and frontend of a pricing calculator.

Whenever updates were done in any of the web pages they would share the staging version for review. They suggested to use a feedback tool to submit feedback which made that process smoother.

Their project management during this project was great, they were responsive, proactive at communicating progress and our feedback and requests were always acknowledged promptly. They were also very proactive at suggesting alternative approaches or improvements during our calls.

They went out of their way to help us meet our deadlines. We knew this project had a very tight timeline but they committed to it and we felt we could rely on them which is so important when working with external partners. By having team members across different time zones it’s easy to get immediate assistance when something urgent comes up.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Veza Digital could have done differently?

There was room for improvement on their internal QA however I’m aware that our tight timelines and extra work on this project didn’t allow the necessary time for that. Moving quicker was more important in this case.

Reflecting on our website redesign project, we set out to create a site that not only aligned with our company's rebranded visual identity but also effectively addressed the needs and questions of our buyers. Our goal was to design a website that would increase brand awareness and generate more qualified leads, all while ensuring a seamless user experience.

Our old site had several challenges that drove the need for a comprehensive redesign. It had a clunky navigation structure that made it difficult for visitors to find what they were looking for, and certain pages were not easily readable or scannable, particularly those related to customer insights. The outcomes from our website redesign project were encouraging. We saw an increase in organic traffic, suggesting that our updated content and SEO strategy were effective. Visitors spent more time on the site, indicating that the new layout and content were more engaging. A moderate reduction in bounce rates pointed to improved navigation and readability. Notably, conversions—requests for meetings with Sales—also saw a positive uptick. 
Overall, these outcomes suggest that the redesign was a step in the right direction, aligning with our rebranding and showing signs of delivering on our business goals.

Our project management process had its strengths, but there were also areas where it could have been more effective. Zoom meetings were our most productive form of communication for project management. They allowed us to discuss project goals, progress, and roadblocks in real time, fostering a collaborative environment. We also used Slack for day-to-day communication, which was convenient for quick questions and updates among team members.

To manage shared documentation and critical files such as content, images, and icons, we used Google Drive. This made it super easy to organize and share information across our two organizations, ensuring everyone had access to the latest resources and could collaborate effectively.

However, there were some challenges. Project timelines were often extended or missed, which led to our overall project launching many months later than planned. This often resulted from a loss of momentum part way through various efforts, causing delays and requiring extra effort to get back on track. While our communication tools were helpful, we found that consistent follow-through on project timelines and maintaining energy throughout the project's lifecycle were areas for improvement.

Despite these setbacks, the final outcome of the project met our expectations. The team demonstrated flexibility in addressing our needs along the way.

What impressed me most about this company was their deep knowledge of Webflow and their ability to translate complex design concepts into creative solutions. They seamlessly applied our new brand identity to the website redesign, capturing the essence of our visual and thematic goals while enhancing the user experience. 

Additionally, the team was incredibly friendly and approachable, which made working with them a pleasant experience. Their general availability was also notable; whether it was for a quick Slack message or a scheduled Zoom meeting, they were always accessible and responsive to our questions and concerns. While Veza Digital did a great job with the design and implementation of our website, there was one notable area where they could have improved. A key issue was project timelines. There were times when deadlines were missed or extended, which caused the overall project to launch later than anticipated. This was partly due to a loss of momentum at different stages, which could have been managed more effectively with tighter project management and greater transparency around progress with early-warnings when dates are slipping.

The outcomes here were binary - the site was delivered as promised and we are currently working with Veza ongoing optimization and management of the site. In terms of the quality of the design the site has received very positive reviews from key stakeholders, customers, and other vendors. We are very pleased with the outcome.

This was a big project as our site had been in-place and largely unchanged over a decade. We had set and agreed to some aggressive timelines and had to adjust. In the end, it was the right thing to do and expect this experience will help guide future projects. I continue to work with Veza on an ongoing basis and their attention, pace, communication, and focus on our stated goals is both appreciated and admirable.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We received weekly summary emails of our conversations, but in general, we didn't have clear outcomes each week which led to a lot of confusion, lack of next steps for client and consultant, and no clear follow-up. When the project started we were introduced to a tool called the project "pod" powered by Trumpet. It seemed like a great tool, but after our kick-off meeting it was never updated or used.

Project management appeared to start out well with the use of the "pod" and weekly summary emails, however, once the project got going management of timelines, deliverables, and communication of client feedback, decisions, etc. was poorly communicated to the internal Veza team. 

We actually had very productive and collaborative calls with the design team and the dev team and Veza responded to our needs during those calls. However, after each call, it felt like no one communicated or touched base, and during the next call we were left reviewing some of what we discussed the call before. 

Furthermore, the timeline had to shift a bit and that was fine, but what was not ok was that the agreed-upon shifted deadlines continued to not be met. It felt like the project manager wanted to tell us what we wanted to hear versus what was actually realistic. It was probably 3 or 4 times that the final deadline shifted and still no management effort to meet these new deadlines. Created real issues for me and my internal team's expectations.

After a while, it was clear that the team was really struggling to meet any deadline and so I had to reach out to the founder. We met to do a reset and align on clear expectations. Our project manager changed and we pushed ahead. Once we got to QA & launch it was a real struggle to get Veza to complete the feedback we discussed / recorded in the QA document. 

There were also some tasks I assumed would be completed as a part of the website project, i.e. tasks that you assume a website design team pays close attention to. Unfortunately, there were a variety of these kinds of tasks that were not properly tended. The biggest of these were: 

1. design responsiveness (our mobile site still does not function properly and if you resize a window text still overlaps) 
2. file sizes for proper load times 
3. blog/cms setup (this is still messy, but we are working to fix it on our end).

Veza started out really strong with its sales and kick-off organization, but this quickly changed as the project progressed. They also appeared to have strong design acumen. The Veza founder did a great job talking to my founders in the sales process, but unfortunately, this kind of customer service did not continue into the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Veza Digital could have done differently?

Opportunities for improvement: 

• Project management - started out strong, but was very weak across the entire project 
• Attention to detail - especially in the QA phase, had to repeat updates multiple times before they were executed 
• Adherence to timelines - timelines shifted many times; they need to set more realistic deadlines 
• Need to improve communication efforts - both externally with the client and internally with their team

We launched earlier this year with a very basic yet clunky wordpress website. We brought Veza Digital on as a technical partner to re-design and build our website.

We searched online globally for design and web development agencies and shortlisted 4 companies. After speaking with each, we chose Veza Digital based on their experience in webflow, depth of knowledge in web ux, and enthusiasm for our sector. Their cost estimate was on the higher end of other quotes we received, however we felt confident in the team's technical capabilities to help us long term based on their portfolio.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there, the team delivered a sitemap, followed by high fidelity wireframes for the site. After a few iterations, the team designs and developed our website on webflow. The team also shared in-depth tutorials to help us understand how to update and maintain the website.

We had a dedicated project manager as our main point of contact. As we picked up during the summer months, we also had a back-up project manager - both were across details of the project. We also had a lead designer and developers working in the background.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our overall site speed has considerably increased despite more content on our site. The site is easy to update and both internal and external stakeholders have complimented the website. Furthermore, the website is future-proof, being responsive to mobile and tablets and changes/new pages are much easier to spin up when needed.

We had a dedicated slack channel to communicate with the project team. We were also sent a weekly update from the team via email.

The speed and professionalism of the team are mention-worthy. The project which could have easily taken 6 months to 9 months was completed within 6 weeks. Furthermore, the team are very responsive to feedback.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While the team are really responsive to ideas and feedback, there isn't a neat way to capture this - it's either shared in meetings, slack or email. Introducing a way to direct this feedback could limit the amount of adhoc comms that come through via the different communication channels we use.
