We needed help with web app development for our business. Another developer had built a basic first version of the platform, but our relationship with that developer wasn't great, so we looked for another provider.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vasudev Innovative Software has developed our web app using JavaScript, PHP, and Laravel as their main tools. In terms of the process, we've started by providing them with documentation regarding our requirements and the platform the other developer created, which we've used as a starting point. We're currently in a testing phase, and the site is offline because we plan to further develop its features.

Regarding functionalities, the platform enables our users to directly upload the invoices they want us to finance so we can review the information, set the pricing, and then fund them. The platform then generates a letter for the supplying entity that sold their products or services to our user to sign and acknowledge the information as correct. Consequently, if we pay them, they take all legal responsibility for that. We can also track everything through the platform from an admin portal to see information and status updates on whether we paid it or not. The actual payment itself happens outside of the portal. 

Furthermore, there are three different portals on the platform. There's one for a buyer to log in to, another for our suppliers, and then there's one for the admin, which is us.

What is the team composition?

We've been working with a senior developer and a junior developer from Mission Automate's team. We also communicate with Alex (Founder) on a daily basis for regular updates.

We found them through Fiverr and decided to go with them after we tested them out.

So far, we've spent £13,000 (approximately $16,000 USD) with them for this project.

How did Vasudev Innovative Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Vasudev Innovative Software's communication is good, and they stay on budget. They fill out timesheets so we can see how much time they've spent on each task, which we like. We also write up the scope and make videos for each item, explaining how it should look. Regarding communication, we use Slack, where we share media back and forth and get daily status updates to see the direction they're taking.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like that Vasudev Innovative Software's team is transparent with where they're at.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their team could be clearer regarding how long things will take so we can have a clearer vision. In addition, when we give them ambiguous information, sometimes their development tasks go the wrong way. Still, we know that no development will be perfect from the get-go.

Working with them has been great, and we’ve been able to communicate with them to provide our vision. Overall, they’ve been able to satisfy our goal through their innovative software.

They’ve delivered everything on time. Regarding communication, we use scheduled meetings and Zoom.

Their team asks the right questions to translate our ideas into the product, which is important.

I don’t think they can improve anything because their work has been great. Nonetheless, I suggest they go bigger to reach out to more customers.

First People is a First Nations Talent Network based in Australia. I am the owner of the company and am responsible for high level decision making including playing a key role in the development of our platform.

We approached Vasudev Innovative Software to assist us with building an online platform designed to better connect First Nations talent with employers, jobs and opportunities around Australia.

Our goal was to create a platform that was simple to use, aesthetically pleasing and included functionalities that most jobs seeking sites don't have.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We approached Vasudev Innovative Software directly to gain an initial quotation. They responded in a timely manner with a quotation that was hard to decline. We sited examples of their work which made the decision easy to accept the services agreement to begin work.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had an initial kick-off meeting to discuss the scope of our requirements. Vasudev Innovative Software then responded with a quotation and subsequential services agreement which was reviewed discussed and agreed prior to work.

The work was broken up into milestones and each time a milestone was hit, funding was released from our escrow account to Vasudev Innovative software. The platform is Wordpress based, written in PHP and includes features like a jobs map, talent network, messaging feature and more.

I dealt directly with Vini, Vasudev Innovative Software's team lead and various developers for specific technical queries. I found it very efficient to deal with one team lead who then delegated tasks as required.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have only just soft launched our site and are currently conducting SEO activities to assist with our official launch in the coming months.

We communicated through a 3rd party messaging platform that proved to be efficient as my correspondence was always addressed in a very timely manner.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Vasudev Innovative Software was very impressive to work with in a variety of ways but the things that stood out were not only the quality of their work but their patience and flexibility around last-minute development change requests from myself. I appreciated their patience and flexibility the most throughout the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There have only been minor design changes along the way that were quickly addressed.

I’m a solo founder and was getting more work than I could handle. I needed a software engineering team to help in developing products.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vasudev Innovative Software has been helping us with the entire software development life cycle of a CRM for a dental billing company that used three different software to run their business and wanted to use just one.

Vasudev Innovative Software has helped in terms of planning, project management, putting the different items in sprints, sizing them, developing them, and even testing. I've given them wireframes for several projects, but we decided to use a template system with the CRM project.

I also give them large user stories, and they help me break them down — so far, we've done about 4–5 projects together.

We've worked with 5–6 developers, but I'm mainly in contact with their project manager.

I found them on Fiverr, started on a small project with them, and they did a great job. After that, I decided to give them something bigger.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My customers are delighted with their work. Vasudev Innovative Software does the QA testing, so when it gets into production, there are very few system bugs. For every 20 stories, there may be a bug or two, but the QA process usually catches them before our customer does.

How did Vasudev Innovative Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is good; we sometimes have delays because the project takes longer than they think or our customers change the requirements.

Regarding tools, we use Jira for our project management, and I've given access to our customers so they can see what's going on and provide feedback. In terms of communication, we use Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

If there's an issue, they deal with it head first — they take problems seriously and fix them immediately.

I recommend they stop using junior developers.

Have a clear idea of what you're trying to accomplish. They can help bring your vision to life, but you must know what you want.

I’m the co-founder of InnCommander Inc. And we’re creating an ERP function for the hotel industry.

We were looking to build a software solution for the hotel and tourism space.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Vasudev Innovative Software has been effectively our offshore development team in building our ERP solution. They’ve been responsible for the actual development of the product based on our requirements.

Since we’re a startup, we’ve adopted an agile approach, with all of our wireframes and design elements being done by a separate group — The Vasudev team then helps us bring those wireframes to life. There are a lot of different pieces that they’ve been mapping out bit by bit, since we’re trying to build a very complex enterprise-level platform.

What is the team composition?

On a daily basis, we work with three people. We have a project manager, a frontend developer, and a backend developer. We’re actually thinking of bringing in a second set of front- and backend developers as means to grow our footprint.

We found them through Fiverr, but we’ve since moved our relationship off of that platform because it was a bit restrictive in terms of how you can work — more importantly, the payment method was certainly more complicated.

We started talking around October 2020, but the ongoing partnership officially started in November of the same year.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As we started getting more comfortable engaging with Vasudev Innovative Software, they’ve been hitting home runs — you never know how good a team is until they deliver the first milestone. Once they started hitting those marks, we knew they had the vision for the development of our product. They understood the design principles we were looking for, and the aesthetic we were trying to create with the app.

One thing I’ve also been fortunate with is they’re very patient and they schedule calls frequently. They really make sure they understand each of the functions we need, and they’re very open to feedback. We have a really good cycle right now where we work with them to look at defects, and clear them out to make sure that the production code is solid.

How did Vasudev Innovative Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We originally had a dedicated project manager through them, but due to COVID-19, he had to step down from the role. Luckily, Vasudev (CEO & Co-Founder) stepped in right away and took over as project manager — he's had a positive effect on the ongoing development.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed with their level of cooperation. We really wanted a development partner for the long haul, and for a startup situation like ours, they’ve really proven themselves.

Are there any areas they could improve?

From a requirements perspective, I think they should just watch for the quality of the code.

I believe it all boils down to understanding your product before you go to them. I think that’s what helped us build a strong design foundation for our product externally.

They developed two iOS apps, two Android apps, and one web admin portal. We’re 90% completed, and we spent hours figuring everything out before we started. They used Swift for iOS, JavaScript for Android, and Laravel and PHP for the web portal.

There’s the head of development who is also the owner and CEO of the company, and 2–3 people each for iOS, Android, and the web portal.

A friend referred them. I was a little skeptical about sending money to strangers at first, but that passed as soon as I got the first app up and running.

They delivered a great quality product and great customer service. It was an amazing process with the head of the development team, who’s a great person to work with — we’re still working together.

Project management is very good. They’re very communicative, well organized, and quick. We have a lot of design revisions, but it’s being taken care of — it’s very nice to work with someone that’s completely responsive and professional. We use GitLab and communicate via Skype.

They’re well familiar with how to work across different platforms for one project.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve. Even during the pandemic where India is facing massive cases of COVID-19, they’re always responsive on things I need urgently, and that’s really admirable.

With eyes shut, I’d recommend them to anyone that needs web or app development. I’m very satisfied and you can trust them.
