Additionally, they provided post-launch support, including handling change requests and assisting during the rollout phase.

As a young company, our priorities and goals often shifted, and it could be difficult to convey when we needed a broader, long-term solution versus a more immediate, stopgap approach.

While this is a common challenge for external teams working with fast-moving startups, it would have been great to explore ways to more effectively align on these shifting priorities in real time. That said, we recognize this was as much on us to clarify as it was on Vangwe to adapt, and their willingness to adjust to our feedback was always appreciated.

Given the complexity of the Web App for Parliamentary Alerts, a more comprehensive tutorial or walkthrough during the first-time user experience could have eased the learning curve. This would have ensured that users could more quickly harness the full potential of the platform without feeling overwhelmed by its advanced features.

One of our clients was a company in South Carolina that focused on the outdoor sports space. Years before, they released a product pointed at a very lucrative part of the market. It did well for a while, but then they let it languish. The challenge was to take some of the insights from that previous product and build an MVP that would be new and compelling to the market.

Vangwe has built a mobile application. They’ve done the frontend and backend in React Native for flexibility. We initially designed most of the app and UX, and they’ve developed it from that point.

We’ve worked with nine people so far, including Agustin (Co-Founder & CEO) and Mateo (Co-Founder & CTO). We had 3–5 people on the initial team, and then we expanded the scope. There are 2–3 people working on the frontend and other two on the backend.

It was a referral. We mainly chose them because they seemed to want the work. We could tell that beyond the technical aspects, they functioned more like a partner than an outsourcing company. Their questions had to do with the purpose of what we were doing so they could ultimately add value in ways that we didn’t anticipate from a technology group.

The app has been out for a week, and it’s been a soft launch, so it’s pretty early to tell. However, they’ve done an excellent job building many different aspects of the app that could lead to success. We’re starting to get good data on the different types of experiences. In general, they’ve brought important nuance that will yield the right kind of data so that we can make good decisions.

How did Vangwe perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication is very clear, and they’re good at doing what they say they’ll do. Also, we value a thoughtful timeline, and they’ve been excellent at delivering according to it, plus or minus a little variability.

We primarily use Slack, and it has worked very well. Since we’re based in New York, the client is in South Carolina, and Vangwe is a distributed team across Europe and South America, that’s the most efficient way to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really feel like partners. We’ve worked with other companies, and they might have been good technically, but they felt like a third-party company. Vangwe isn’t like that; they understand what we’re trying to accomplish.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have complaints. They’ve done an excellent job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as forthcoming as you can about what you’re trying to accomplish, the genuine opportunities, and potential obstacles. Getting it all out there requires trust, but Vangwe is an incredibly trustworthy group. You can feel comfortable opening up about everything you know and sharing information with them. They’re problem solvers, so they’ll use it to build good products.

Vangwe successfully delivered a fully functional platform that met the original scope and requirements of the project. The development milestones were achieved as planned, and the platform was delivered on time, allowing us to move from concept to an operational product. While I’m not a technical expert, the platform's stability and readiness for client use clearly demonstrated progress and success.We didn’t track highly technical performance metrics internally, but from an operational standpoint, the platform's stability was reflected in the absence of critical incidents after launch and its consistent availability for users. It supported our onboarding and daily operations without disruptions. The platform enabled us to launch on schedule, onboard clients, and run our core processes smoothly, which was a clear indicator of its reliability and positive impact on operations.In the initial months after launch, we onboarded approximately 50 clients through the platform, and it processed around 1,000 transactions, demonstrating both early adoption and the platform’s ability to handle operational volume reliably.
