I’m the CEO of a personal care brand and benefit corporation. Our flagship product is a patented menstrual cup. We do outreach in developing countries to help girls stay in school.

What challenge were you trying to address with Urtasker?
We were looking to open a sales channel on Amazon. It’s challenging to navigate their platform from a seller standpoint, so I knew that once I started digging around, I would need to find someone with experience to help me flawlessly launch the product there. I also wanted to get the product listing to rank on the platform.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
It’s a multi-step process working with Amazon. We hired Urtasker to help out with everything from building out an optimized product listing and brand storefront, getting Amazon approval with our FDA registration, and helping with the trademark registry for the brand. Their team also worked with us on keyword optimization to implement keywords into all different aspects of content.
We provided them with a Google Drive and Dropbox full of our company brand assets, including logo, brand color, and photography. We also provided copy, messaging, and previous keyword research we’d done.
They run our ad and marketing campaigns. Their team is constantly running analytics and reporting for us while proposing new strategies to help us improve our ranking on the platform. They’re currently launching a review strategy to help us build up reviews.
What is the team composition?
I work directly with three people, but there have been multiple people working there. They have design and copywriting services.
We have an account project manager that helps the communication flow between all of the other team members. The other two people are my technical points of contact. All of them oversee everything that’s outsourced to different members of the team.
How did you come to work with Urtasker?
After seeing the challenges of the Amazon backend and knowing that I didn’t have the bandwidth, I searched on Google to find freelancers or consultants to take care of it for me. Urtasker’s website popped up at the top, which showed me that they were skilled at keyword research and SEO when it came to their own business. That was a good indicator that they could do it for someone else’s business.
I filled out the inquiry form and then started vetting their services. After seeing they were a good fit within the right budget, we moved forward.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Every week, I can see our milestones, and it’s clear we’ve done a lot in three months. Through the analytic reports, I can see how we’re moving in the keyword rankings. Sales are also increasing. I look at keyword ranking, organic search ranking, and conversions.
Another part of the strategy is brand awareness. We want to see how many eyes are coming to our product listing on the platform. We measure those metrics month after month, and we can see gains there. We also have technical deliverables we look to accomplish every week. Urtasker is dedicated to hitting those deadlines and ensuring that we stay on track with the entire scope of work.
How did Urtasker perform from a project management standpoint?
From a project management standpoint, they’re amazing. Our account manager is one of the best I’ve ever worked with.
Because of Amazon’s detailed process, their team outlined key action steps and milestones for each week. They also provide an agenda before each meeting and a task list at the end of each meeting. We meet weekly to go over and chip away at them. We have overarching long-term and short-term strategies. It takes a huge stress off to know that there is an extra set of eyes looking over everything that we want to accomplish within the set timeline.
For communication, we use Microsoft Teams along with our weekly hour-long video meeting. Once a month, I connect with our account manager on a higher level to see how everything is going.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I don’t know if I can pinpoint one thing, but their level of expertise is impressive. Their team can translate their expertise into an effective work plan that helps us achieve business goals.
I like working with people that are consistently assessing and analyzing how they can improve system processes. I feel like that is being done with our meeting time, project work, and individual work, improving our efficiency.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’m not sure. Urtasker keeps me on my toes. I get pulled in a lot of directions as a startup founder, but they’re very on top of things. I have to be mindful about how I invest my money, and Urtasker is incredibly economical and accessible.

I’m the director of operations at Osiris Organics Inc. We’re a small company with two brands.

What challenge were you trying to address with Urtasker?
We were new to Amazon and wanted to promote our products through it. Amazon is a constantly changing environment. To be able to sell effectively on there, we really needed to understand all of the nuances of the platform. Our team brought on Urtasker to handle all of our day-to-day activities on Amazon.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our partnership is a consulting outsourcing agreement with a month-to-month contract. At the high level, their team is establishing the proper strategy for being successful to sell on Amazon and utilize the tactics to execute that strategy. We initially started working on launching and being effective with our initial products. Now, we’re optimizing those products and launching new products.
Upon the commencement of the engagement, Urtasker analyzed the market and products that we were selling into. They looked at other products that were successful in those areas and mapped out our strategy to better compete with those successful products. Then, they implemented tactics such as looking at effective PPC advertising and creating what Amazon calls enhanced brand content. Urtasker created different graphics and better videos to draw people to our brand.
Their team looked at pricing strategies with either specials or promotions to bring our products to the top. Urtasker has helped us make sure we ask our clients for reviews since Amazon is very reviews-centric. Beyond that scope, Urtasker is looking at new opportunities as we look at new products to develop.
What is the team composition?
Our initial discussions were with a salesperson but once we decided to move forward, we were transferred to an account manager. The account manager organized the team that includes two day-to-day team members and a supervisor.
How did you come to work with Urtasker?
They were recommended to us by someone we trust. They had worked with Urtasker for over a year and were very happy with their services. We contacted Urtasker and they got back to us right away. Our team looked at different programs that’d be a good fit for them and for us. I thought their pricing was very fair and that they were transparent with everything that was and wasn’t covered. If there was anything that we needed to adjust, they were very responsive.

Our ongoing engagement started in January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been very happy with their work so far. When we first engaged them, we were just starting to sell. In the first full month of our work with Urtasker, our sales increased by 50%. And then after the following month, sales increased by 100%. We saw very fast results. This month, we’re trending to increase about another 40%.
Urtasker really understands Amazon. While they’re helping us increase our Amazon sales, they’re also helping us to reduce our overall Amazon cost. Our overall Amazon cost has reduced by about 15% since we started working with them.
How did Urtasker perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is very good. We’re set up on Microsoft Teams to be able to communicate back and forth; we usually talk daily. Our teams hold a weekly review meeting to go over what’s been accomplished and what’s scheduled.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of Teams but I can work with it. I’ve talked to Urtasker about that, and we’re probably going to change the tool for how we manage the project. It’s not Urtasker’s fault or mine, it’s just the tool. It can be a bit cumbersome to work with.
We use Zoom for the weekly call, and it’s always been pretty reliable. We’re going to be moving to Trello for more of the project and task management side of things. Our account manager is very organized.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most impressed with their deep knowledge of Amazon. As I mentioned, Amazon is constantly changing so Urtasker is great at being on top of everything that’s involved. Having their level of expertise is super helpful. Secondly, I think they’re great at utilizing analytical tools with regard to Amazon. They look at markets, potential product sales, forecasting, and costing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The overall experience has been good. The only area for improvement is that Urtasker tends to occasionally be overenthusiastic and too quick to commit to something. Then sometimes, that task doesn’t get done. From my point of view, it’s more important to commit to the task and time frame. They always finish tasks, but at times they’re too aggressive on the time frame.
That comes from wanting to make the customer happy, but I tend to rely on the saying of underpromising and overdelivering. I understand that things take time, and Urtasker should set the right expectation. If something is going to take a week, make sure the customer knows it’s going to take a week to complete it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Spend some time to learn Amazon first so you can get a good idea of everything that’s involved. That way, you have a much better appreciation of what Urtasker is doing. On paper, it may seem like a task they complete isn’t hard to do but in actuality, it is hard to do. If you have a better understanding of Amazon going into the engagement, then you’ll understand what Urtasker is talking about as well as understand the challenges. You’ll appreciate the value of what they’re providing.

We’re hitting sales numbers that we’ve never hit before. Additionally, we’re continuing to make improvements month in and month out. Our ROI and sales metrics improve month-over-month and year-over-year. They bought into our product and are dedicated. Their team has been professional from the get-go. Everything was laid out, and there wasn’t any confusion as to what their job or our job was.
Our backend issues have also been resolved by Urtasker. Amazon suspends products for any number of reasons at any point in time. When we run into those issues, it’s nice to have people who know exactly what they’re doing and how to fix it. We had a major issue in January 2021 that almost shut the whole thing down. Urtasker was able to get us back up and running within 10 days.
How did Urtasker perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is fantastic. We do a weekly Zoom meeting as well as communicate every day via email and Teams. They’re timely and follow through on commitments. Urtasker consistently meets deadlines, oftentimes ahead of schedule.
There’s not one thing I throw at them that they can’t do. If it’s something they can’t or shouldn’t do, they’re honest and let me know. Ultimately, they’ll still leave it to me but I appreciate that they provide honest feedback. We have a great rapport and oftentimes complete each other’s sentences.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s great to have a dedicated professional who solely works for us and doesn’t work for any other platform. Our Amazon representative strictly doesn’t work for any other account, he just works on ours. He handles our account full-time and has constant access to management. If it’s Saturday afternoon and I notice a problem, I can get ahold of someone and they immediately start working on it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything. We’re working with individuals who truly care about the success of our brand.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Know exactly what you want, not just for today but from six months from now, a year from now, and two years from now. Be cognizant that results aren’t going to show up immediately. Even when you bring in a company like Urtasker, the expectation shouldn’t be based on a 48-hour turnaround; that will lead to disappointment. Have a plan in place and present it to Urtasker. They’ll help parse it out to produce the most effective results possible.

At this point, the sales aren’t great. That may not be their fault because I may have the stuffed animals priced too high. We’re currently not sure if Amazon is the right marketplace for products supporting charity. They’re trying their hardest to make sales work despite that.
They have offices in New York and Pakistan. Their team in Pakistan is super smart, but there can be a bit of a language barrier that prevents them from understanding our branding and goals. My products do very well on other sites, so I’m not sure if our lower sales are because of the Amazon market or because they don’t understand my idea clearly. I enjoy working with them, but we may not be completely aligned.
How did Urtasker perform from a project management standpoint?
They understand Amazon very well, and my team manager in New York is fantastic. Their delivery is generally good. However, because they’re coordinating our work with several offices, our timelines can get delayed. Sometimes that coordination time is frustrating because tasks wouldn’t be taking as long otherwise. We meet twice each month over Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re thorough in their work and understand the Amazon market very well. Amazon is a complicated site that presents daily challenges. They’re very good at identifying new challenges and opportunities on the platform. I like working with them. They’re a kind, smart team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Our Zoom meetings aren’t very efficient because my project manager in New York oftentimes has to translate what their offshore team is communicating. It makes the meeting longer than it needs to be. At times, they may communicate too often for me. It’s nice that they want to send me frequent updates, but I don’t need to know when they’re leaving for the day, for instance. That just ends up cluttering my inbox. There are some instances where things aren’t done as efficiently as I want, which is my frustration in this relationship.

Make sure to establish a good relationship with the project manager. They’re mostly focused on Amazon, so make sure Amazon is a worthwhile endeavor because it can be a lot of work. If your product isn’t right for Amazon, it may not be a good fit.

I'm the owner of Voltum. We're a small business with a candle holder product, selling it through several channels such as Amazon.

We needed help getting into Amazon and other online stores.

What was the scope of their involvement?
I told them I wanted to get on Amazon, and they walked me through all the steps needed to do so. Following their consultation, I took on implementation. They assisted with associated paperwork for selling online as well.

They have a project manager in New York. I also worked with three people from Pakistan, including Jawad (Quality Assurance Manager) and Muhammad (E-Commerce Consultant).

I found them on the internet, through a search. Their price is the same as others, but I liked that they offered a month-to-month contract. That was fairly unique in our search.

We've spent around $3,000 so far.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I am pleased. They've done everything I asked them to do. Their team offers great advice but, ultimately, does the project the way that we want.
When looking at my ratings against other products, ours is significantly better. They helped us communicate the value of our product, especially during the times of the pandemic, through our online listings.
How did Urtasker perform from a project management standpoint?
Even though we have a project manager in New York, I can deal with their offshore team directly when needed. That keeps misunderstanding to a minimum. They are accessible 24/7 and fantastic to work with.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They provide us with instant feedback. If I email them right now with a question, I will get a response within five minutes.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Right now, I can’t think of anything. I am very pleased with what they are doing.

There is no long-term commitment, so I would give them a shot. If they work for you, continue on with them and if not, move on.

Whatever we discuss, I feel confident in them. I know what I’m doing but can’t do everything by myself. I have trust in them, and I do.
