We have increased our exposure to potential customers resulting in more quotation requests coming in than what would usually occur by phone. This has been a definite success for us.

The feedback from our clients with both the desktop and mobile layout of our site, the feedback provided throughout led to meeting our exact needs from the start of the project and 90% of the people we surveyed gave very favorable commentary after seeing all the changes.

I’ve worked with over 100 companies and I’ve never seen a group of individuals work so diligently to meet the goals on time with constant and frequent meticulous attention to detail. 

They were so consistent with communication without controlling the project as they always wanted to ensure each phase met our needs and captured the essence of what we are trying to convey. I’ve never seen a company pay so much direct and personal attention to the needs of the client so consistently. 

Our needs, questions, and concerns were responded to within 24 hours and if there was going to be any delay, they would inform us immediately.

The previous question answers this, but i would add that the individual attention paid to our needs were so personal, it made it SO easy to work collaboratively with Unite.

NO! They were exceptional and of the 100+ companies I’ve worked with between Canada and the United States, 99% of them could’ve done something differently— not these guys!

Our website was outdated and it did not properly showcase our abilities to potential clients. We hired Unite to re-vamp our site and hopefully draw more (industry targeted) customers.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Price point was a factor but we also looked for communication responses (ie how quickly they responded), their ability to offer editing services/copywriting, and reviews from previous clients.

We had worked with another company in the preliminary stages of the re-design. With them, we created a site map. After this stage was complete, we weren't happy with their service or their pricing so we parted ways. I reached out to Unite and a few other website designing companies. After going through a few different online meetings, we chose to proceed with Unite. I provided the sitemap we had drafted and they worked on getting some page templates set up. I drafted and provided content and Unite organized it into a functional website. Once they had a draft of a page done, Mike would send me the link, I would review and send him back my edits. The entire website was re-structured with new content.

I mainly worked with Mike (CEO), but also had training and correspondence with Colin (Designer).

Our new website looks great and showcases our abilities much better than our old one.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Mike was great to work with and always and consistently provided timely feedback. Once we established a routine for editing, the process worked really well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I liked their knowledge behind the SEO scene. I also liked that they kept things simple but still listened to my feeback.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing that I was a bit disappointed by was the completion timeline. Once the project and editing was started, things were good but, at the beginning, it seemed like a really long time before we could see any progress.

Unite built a brand new website for us from scratch and added new features to it. We collaborated on how the website should look. I wanted the site to be SEO-friendly to generate traffic, and they came up with all the keywords they used. Our team also wanted the site to be brighter, more colorful, and more user-friendly. They also put a video on the site’s homepage for users to see.

We worked with Mike (CEO) and Colin (Senior Web Developer). 

How did you come to work with Unite Interactive?

We searched online for local teams to make sure they could focus our efforts on our local market. Our team interviewed Unite via a video conference, where they showed us the things they did in the past. What truly attracted us to their services was their work with other general contractors. That was good because we wanted to make sure that our partner had an understanding of our industry. Because of that, we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $10,000–$12,000. Our team made 3–4 payments of $3,000 throughout the engagement. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from May 2021–March 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website’s quality was great. I showed the unfinished version of the website to a prospective client to show him what it could do, and he said it was fantastic. His reaction alone was great for us. Moreover, our own feedback on the website was positive. 

Overall, Unite took our needs into consideration while developing the website. They successfully made the adjustments we requested while also offering their feedback on how they could make everything better. 

How did Unite Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?

Unite met all the deadlines they set. In fact, I was the one who held the timeline up more than anyone else. To communicate, we used emails. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication level stood out. Mike talked well to me even though I didn’t know how website development worked — they communicated that to me so that I could understand what they were doing. 

Moreover, they worked hard to understand what we were trying to achieve through the website. Even when they missed a target, they had no problem making adjustments to accommodate what we wanted. Overall, they were truly attentive to our needs. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there weren’t any.

Working with Unite is a good move. Make sure you have a full understanding of what you want to achieve. Be open to their suggestions on how they can improve your product.

I’m the managing director for Castellan Information Security Services Inc, a provider of information security services, products, and professional consulting to our market share.

What challenge were you trying to address with Unite Interactive?

We wanted to establish our social media presence, have our website redesigned, and optimize our search engine results.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Unite Interactive has helped us with all of our challenges. Initially, we had a few exploratory sessions where they learned what our company did. Then, they provided us with a proposal for how they would manage the project.

We liked Unite Interactive’s proposal and methodology, so we moved forward with the project. First, they built a new website for us from scratch, and they asked us to provide them with content to populate it, including service descriptions and staff portfolios. Later, they gave us access to a prototype URL so that we could see how the finished product would look before launching it to the public.

Currently, Unite Interactive is managing our social media presence and account. They also create marketing campaigns to optimize our positioning, and they create physical marketing campaigns as well.

Unite Interactive’s work has also involved branding to some degree. We provided them with our logo, which was already established, and they built our color and font schemes. Then, they started using those branding elements on our social media and Google Ads, building our marketing plan.

What is the team composition?

Our primary contact is Mike (CEO). He acts as the liaison between our teams, so I haven’t worked directly with any developers or designers.

How did you come to work with Unite Interactive?

I had a previous relationship with Unite Interactive because they built a website for a different company I own. Thus, for this project, I reached out to them and told them what we needed.

How much have you invested with them?

Our website costed about $10,000–$12,000 CAD (approximately $8,000–$9,500 USD). Additionally, we’ve spent around the same amount on their continuous support over the last three years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in the fall of 2019, and we launched the site around the beginning of 2020. Since then, our site has been refined, changing content and some of the flows. Those services are part of Unite Interactive’s ongoing support.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One of the results that we noticed immediately was that the number of visitors to our social media platforms increased significantly. For example, we noticed an increase in our LinkedIn visitors because people were being directed there from our site. Additionally, the number of subscribers to our site increased significantly as well.

How did Unite Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?

Unite Interactive’s project management is very good. During the development project, we didn’t have any overages, which was important for us as a small company. We used a document to track the progress of the website, but we didn’t use any additional project management tools. We communicate via email, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I like about Unite Interactive is that they listen to their customers. They took the time to listen to us and what we were trying to accomplish, and they guided us through the process to help us make the right decision. To this day, they continue guiding us and helping us grow. Additionally, they’re very adaptable and flexible.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think so. Looking back at our engagement, whenever we had a delay, the responsibility fell more on our side for not being able to provide them with content or feedback quickly. They work very well, so I don’t think they have anything to improve.

The key to our successful engagement was ensuring that we communicated what we wanted to accomplish from a business perspective and listening to their advice. They’re the experts when it comes to building social media presence and marketing campaigns.

Working through a discovery process, Unite Interactive helped map our internal investment process. As we mapped this out, we discovered that some of our processes could be enhanced through the use of technology thus increasing the efficiency of the staff and process. At this point, a document was provided that outlined the project, its deliverables, the technology, and the value of the project.
