Price point was a factor but we also looked for communication responses (ie how quickly they responded), their ability to offer editing services/copywriting, and reviews from previous clients.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We had worked with another company in the preliminary stages of the re-design. With them, we created a site map. After this stage was complete, we weren't happy with their service or their pricing so we parted ways. I reached out to Unite and a few other website designing companies. After going through a few different online meetings, we chose to proceed with Unite. I provided the sitemap we had drafted and they worked on getting some page templates set up. I drafted and provided content and Unite organized it into a functional website. Once they had a draft of a page done, Mike would send me the link, I would review and send him back my edits. The entire website was re-structured with new content.

I mainly worked with Mike (CEO), but also had training and correspondence with Colin (Designer).

Overall, Unite took our needs into consideration while developing the website. They successfully made the adjustments we requested while also offering their feedback on how they could make everything better.

Unite met all the deadlines they set. In fact, I was the one who held the timeline up more than anyone else. To communicate, we used emails.

Their communication level stood out. Mike talked well to me even though I didn’t know how website development worked — they communicated that to me so that I could understand what they were doing.
Moreover, they worked hard to understand what we were trying to achieve through the website. Even when they missed a target, they had no problem making adjustments to accommodate what we wanted. Overall, they were truly attentive to our needs.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Unite Interactive has helped us with all of our challenges. Initially, we had a few exploratory sessions where they learned what our company did. Then, they provided us with a proposal for how they would manage the project.
We liked Unite Interactive’s proposal and methodology, so we moved forward with the project. First, they built a new website for us from scratch, and they asked us to provide them with content to populate it, including service descriptions and staff portfolios. Later, they gave us access to a prototype URL so that we could see how the finished product would look before launching it to the public.
Currently, Unite Interactive is managing our social media presence and account. They also create marketing campaigns to optimize our positioning, and they create physical marketing campaigns as well.
Unite Interactive’s work has also involved branding to some degree. We provided them with our logo, which was already established, and they built our color and font schemes. Then, they started using those branding elements on our social media and Google Ads, building our marketing plan.
What is the team composition?
Our primary contact is Mike (CEO). He acts as the liaison between our teams, so I haven’t worked directly with any developers or designers.
How did you come to work with Unite Interactive?
I had a previous relationship with Unite Interactive because they built a website for a different company I own. Thus, for this project, I reached out to them and told them what we needed.
How much have you invested with them?
Our website costed about $10,000–$12,000 CAD (approximately $8,000–$9,500 USD). Additionally, we’ve spent around the same amount on their continuous support over the last three years.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in the fall of 2019, and we launched the site around the beginning of 2020. Since then, our site has been refined, changing content and some of the flows. Those services are part of Unite Interactive’s ongoing support.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
One of the results that we noticed immediately was that the number of visitors to our social media platforms increased significantly. For example, we noticed an increase in our LinkedIn visitors because people were being directed there from our site. Additionally, the number of subscribers to our site increased significantly as well.
How did Unite Interactive perform from a project management standpoint?
Unite Interactive’s project management is very good. During the development project, we didn’t have any overages, which was important for us as a small company. We used a document to track the progress of the website, but we didn’t use any additional project management tools. We communicate via email, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What I like about Unite Interactive is that they listen to their customers. They took the time to listen to us and what we were trying to accomplish, and they guided us through the process to help us make the right decision. To this day, they continue guiding us and helping us grow. Additionally, they’re very adaptable and flexible.

No, I don’t think so. Looking back at our engagement, whenever we had a delay, the responsibility fell more on our side for not being able to provide them with content or feedback quickly. They work very well, so I don’t think they have anything to improve.

For what projects/services did your company hire Unite Interactive?
Our website was not refreshed since 2013 and was outdated. We needed a new website that better reflected our branding and values of our company.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We looked at a number of proposals. After reviewing multiple proposals, we chose Unite. We chose Unite because they addressed our stated needs and delivered a very respectful respectful proposal.

After a series discovery meetings and collateral reviews, we agreed on a design. They regularly came back to us for our feedback and approvals.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
In total, we worked with 1 liaison/project manager. This worked great for us, as we had limited time to work on this website design. The process was very organized and timely. If there were any bottlenecks, it was from us, the client, not Unite
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Training was provided to our communications personnel to easily update the site as required. We continue to hear positive feedback.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow from Unite's side was managed very well.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The project manager was easy to work with and provided frequent updates. We really appreciated how well he listened to us. Unite took our established messaging and values and successfully translated it for use on the website. We were very impressed with the quality of the website.

None.

The company was a start-up company and seeking to develop a tailored software program to support the deal flow, documentation, and work flow process. The company engaged Unite Interactive to develop in partnership the software needed to manage the work flow of investment opportunities. The web based software also provided staff reminders for follow up tasks coupled with an innovative and unique dashboard to provide a visual account of the status of each opportunity.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We found the company extremely professional, knowledgeable, and experienced in the field to provide the company guidance as we developed our tailored software solution. During our discovery process, it was obvious through the interview process and quality of questions that Unite Interactive's management understood what was needed to develop a valuable solution. In addition, their attentiveness to detail and recommendations made it an easy decision to award the project.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Working through a discovery process, Unite Interactive helped map our internal investment process. As we mapped this out, we discovered that some of our processes could be enhanced through the use of technology thus increasing the efficiency of the staff and process. At this point, a document was provided that outlined the project, its deliverables, the technology, and the value of the project.

There were two people who worked with us being the CEO and the software engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The software has managed our process to ensure every step of our approved processes are completed and documented.

Many of our interactions were either face to face and/or over the telephone. These discussions were followed up with an email to confirm understandings.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was impressed by the depth of knowledge and their ability to communicate the solution in a way that I understood. These factors coupled with their genuine desire to meet our expectations created an environment where I trusted the company to look after our best interests. I'm proud to say that after all these years, I continue to highly recommend United Interactive.
