We’ve worked closely with Unified for many years to create a website that reflects who we are and to create an online experience. From the very beginning, Unified took time to understand our brand, our story, heritage and what makes us special. Our website allows us to share our designs, craftsmanship and family story in a more engaging way, whilst offering our customers a clear user journey online where they can either purchase online or enquire for a personalised experience. Unified have advised us on our digital presence and have developed our website to keep it best in class, modern and clear to navigate as well as incorporating the brand identity through UX designs on Shopify.

We wanted to launch our website ahead of Christmas and decided to launch in the October that year which was met on time.

Unified took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve such as increased online sales, modern website, clear back end system, secure and with a great UX design.

We had frequent calls to discuss progress and a project timeline

We had some bespoke requests, so working with Unified to understand these and how they could be achieved was very easy.

A set budget for the website project was very helpful as we knew from the start what would be possible.

This project involved the seamless migration of our e-commerce platform from Magento 2 to Adobe Commerce B2B. The primary objective was to enhance the platform's functionality, improve performance, and provide a robust infrastructure tailored to the needs of a B2B environment. 

Successfully migrated all data, including product catalogs, customer information, order history, and other critical business data, from Magento 2 to Adobe Commerce B2B. Implemented optimizations to enhance site speed, reduce load times, and improve overall user experience.
Transitioned the hosting environment to Sonassi, a high-performance hosting solution tailored for Adobe Commerce and they configured the new hosting environment for optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. Also performed comprehensive testing, including functional, performance, and regression testing, to ensure a flawless transition.

This project ensured a smooth transition to Adobe Commerce B2B, delivering a scalable and high-performing e-commerce platform tailored to our specific business needs.

The project management overall met our expectations, though the journey had its challenges. Initially, there were some issues with communication and timeline clarity, which led to delays and a slower start than we had anticipated. However, as the project progressed, the team demonstrated a commitment to delivering a quality outcome.

They maintained a professional approach throughout the process, addressing our concerns and adapting their workflows to better align with our expectations. While the project took longer than originally planned, the final deliverables met most of our requirements, and the quality of work was up to standard.

In the end, the team successfully completed the project and ensured most of our needs were addressed, showcasing their capability to deliver on their promises despite initial setbacks.

The original timeline was a bit overpromising, and their pricing is on the higher end of the market.

SIKADA is the distributor of Salt-Water Sandals in the UK, EU, and Asia. We sell durable, water-resistant leather sandals across B2C and B2B in various colors and styles. Our sandals are known for their craftsmanship and heritage.

What challenge were you trying to address with Unified?

We needed help with Magento upgrades and Shopify builds.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Unified has worked with us on Magento 1 to Magento 2 upgrades, Magento to Shopify builds, and general assistance across our sites. For the Shopify build, Unified personalized a bespoke theme using e-commerce best practices and specialized must-haves for our multi-territory business. Once designed, they worked to ensure the new site was user-friendly for customers and compatible and fully integrated with external platforms, including NetSuite. Unified also worked with us to ensure each site was fully localized for our cross-territory needs. 

For the Magento upgrades, Unified ensured our site was fully updated to Magento 2 and built bespoke page builders to ensure the CMS was user-friendly for our company. Shopify was launched in 2020, and our site maintenance is ongoing with them.

What is the team composition?

We have a pod of four teammates, but we’ve had expertise from other highly experienced members of Unified along the way.

How did you come to work with Unified?

We were originally with Diligent, who merged with another company to become Unified. We chose Unified over other options because of our long-standing partnership with key employees in the company and their impressive credentials with expansion.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked with Unified for many years, and our engagement is ongoing. The Shopify launch was in 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have multiple fully functioning sites that generate revenue and work as expected. The new Shopify site has far better UX and mobile experience, which was a priority for us. We always have a dedicated team member on hand to assist.

How did Unified perform from a project management standpoint?

Unified’s project management has been fantastic. We primarily communicate using the JIRA platform and Teams meetings. The team is proactive and flexible to requirements. They’re always willing to take the time to talk or explain.

Unified has a dedicated team with a variety of expertise across the board, including design, build, best practices, analytics, and digital marketing.

What was the scope of work done?

Unified helped us redesign our website from the ground up, from design to the actual build. They delivered a new style guide and frontend redesign of key pages in the e-commerce journey. They also implemented a Magento Hyva frontend theme and a Storyblok CMS for key CMS page types. Additionally, Unified implemented Akeneo PIM to manage product information.

The website usage and Google SERPs ranking improved after the project. We also received lots of positive feedback from customers and general website users.

How did Unified perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was excellent, and Unified delivered on time despite some late change requests from ourselves. We kept in contact via email and Slack, and we also held regular project meetings via Teams.
