We needed someone to completely refresh our IT infrastructure.

Transputec provided us with a full audit of our IT system and infrastructure. We started with project planning and scheduling, which was then followed by testing and optimization. After that, we then implemented resilience or contingency testings.

Our main point of contact was a technical architect, and we also had support analysts who provided us with desktop, server, and infrastructure support.

How did you come to work with Transputec Ltd?

We’ve used quite a few different providers before, but they were the ones we’ve had the most success with. They came up with good solutions at a reasonable cost and delivered their tasks with minimal problems.

We invested around $250,000.

We worked together from April 2019–April 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They provided us with innovative and high-quality solutions, and their team was very easy to work with. They were also very flexible in accommodating some of our requirements without having to change the scope.

Their access to a broad range of resources and knowledge-base was wonderful.

Their project management was excellent. They consistently sent us reports and kept us updated throughout the partnership.

We’re impressed with the quality of their solutions, as well as their flexibility.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I suppose they could maybe reduce the pricing on their project management so it can be more accessible. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear with what you want, what your objectives are, and the scope of what you’re trying to achieve. That should include everything from the budget, timelines, and measures of success. I would also suggest adding an element of contingency because even though they were very flexible, I still think some aspects of the project could’ve been done quicker.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had previously dealt with Stephanie on a number of smaller purchases, and we found Stephanie to go above & beyond when we were in dire need.

We had a need for security skills that we couldn't provide in-house. As more of our users were working at home, we felt more exposed. Our anti-virus was good but not enough to protect us from more advanced threats - insider and outsider ones.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within days we were seeing issues that needed addressing. Many of these were easily addresses - poor practices by staff, password leaks, weak security. The reports and notifications allowed us to proactively address these quickly

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Response time was really fast. Information was processed quickly, and I felt communication was of a very high standard. They were patient, which was important due to their advanced skillset (compared to mine!)

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The solution was easily deployed to endpoints, and this solution is unique to ThreatSpike. They didn't bombard us with needless alerts, but ones that could be addressed quickly. The briefings I got were far superior to any other support company I dealt with. The solution was also suitable for those outside of the company network/perimeter

I'm happy with all aspects. I liked how they deployed it safely and quickly

We had been customers of Transputec for many years. The team was friendly and easy to deal with. They never said no to any request.

35 new servers delivered to Transputec to build, these were then sent to 35 stores and swapped out by a 3rd Party engineer on site with Transputec migrating databases from existing remotely. Those 35 servers were then brought back, cleaned, upgraded to Windows Server 2016 and sent back out to 35 more stores where the swap process was repeated

A few teething issues at the start of the project that our team had to rectify, but once identified these were corrected for later installs

Most communication done over email, with conference calls only when needed. The process was fairly smooth, and updates were prompt, if at times a little vague on details

Nothing unique, just a fairly straightforward job effectively done

Communication needs to be more detailed, a bit more care when delivering from the outset rather than mopping up issues as you go

Transputec worked with us to implement the Threatspike solution at a global level, whilst establishing a Security Operation Center that worked in support of our own Help desk. Included identification of reporting and alerting requirements and establishing the automation that allowed these to be driven through our ITSM.

Three resource, excluding the SOC. Project Manager, Lead Implementer, Account Manager. Helped agree deliverable and implement these, develop processes and procedures and establish the SOC.

Deployment including hardware was completed within schedule. Identified bugs were fixed quickly. Processes put in place which continue to work to today.
