Token is very involved in the community and has worked with KWO on smaller projects in the past! When it came time to take on a larger project we knew that Token understood our festival, organizational culture and project needs.

After a couple of visioning and discovery sessions, Token captured the main goals of the project in a document and created a tool for us to organize and prioritize our content list. Once we had provided the guidelines Token provided some wireframes for review - followed by first design concepts! We continue to work through the project with Token and look forward to an amazing finished product!

Our organization is at a unique crossroads of being steeped in tradition while trying to embrace new technologies and ways of connecting with our visitors. Token has been patient and thoughtful as they guide us into new territory, taking the time to learn about us and understand our challenges and our aspirations as an organization and event. They're just as excited about bringing our project to life as we are - and it makes all the difference!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Our first design mock up didn't feel like it meshed well with other established brand pieces we have in the market. A quick conversation with our Token Team and we were all back on the same page!

We were fully aware of who was working on what and were free to ask as many questions as we wanted to. The CEO also remained available throughout to provide support.

So far, the Token team has hit all its goals in web development. They're mapped out a meticulous path to the end result. We look forward to the final product.

The entire team is very articulate and clear in its communication. They're expressive and good at managing each project separately. They create teams using Google Hangouts and all updates are provided immediately via that channel.

They also share detailed documents via Google Drive. They keep team members on track using Asana.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their enthusiasm and the ability to find effective solutions quickly and with ease are notable in the workflow. They never panic, in fact they welcome challenges and get right into the process with open mindedness and tact.

I think they work too much :)

I own and operate a company called Naturally with Love. We create all-natural heat and cold pouches. We’ve been in business for 3–4 years now.

Our main problem was our online presence. We didn’t have a substantial website or marketing plan. We wanted to expand our business to sell online instead of focusing on the local craft shows that started us.

Their team created our logo, flyers, all of the graphics for our email campaigns and social media platforms. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Token Creative Services provides updates constantly. Since they integrated the website with Shopify, the platform provides data. We can track online sales versus in-person sales. We definitely drive off of our online sales now.

How did Token Creative Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We hold calls and video chats, which Gmail invites us to. They communicate constantly about digital efforts on a weekly basis. When one step’s complete, we follow up with what would be next.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their lead time and understanding are impressive qualities. They compromised to be on my schedule, working evenings and weekends. Not working just Monday–Friday was substantial. They’re clear and honest about progress and timeframes. Their team’s never dishonest. I’ve always received deliverables in a timely manner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could share the other services that their team has.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a discussion and ask them all of your questions to help them map your business’s growth. Make sure that they’re answered. They’re honest and willing to give you the information.

We were looking to have well-branded content across the board. When you see some of our posts, everything looks the same. Our company has crafted a type of image and content we like to produce. Everything within the scope of work has to be branded to meet our very high standards.

We work with 5–6 members of the Token Creative Services team on a fairly regular basis.

We had known about Token Creative Services for quite some time. They are close to the Chamber of Commerce and so is our owner. Our teams had a lot of connections. After searching online, they were one of the top companies in our area so it ended up being a bit fo a no brainer.

Our ongoing engagement with Token Creative Services began in November 2018.

A lot of their work is geared towards marketing efforts, such as social media posts or click-through rates on our website. We ended up scaling back on our budgets, but we’re very happy with their work. 

How did Token Creative Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Token Creative Services is incredibly communicative and quick to get back to us. They have a very organized system for their project management, with a dedicated project manager for your account. We just aren’t at the level where we use our project manager as much but it’s very effective because they can step in and deal with all that administrative work. They make sure things are on track.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most unique thing about Token Creative Services is how they leverage their small size. They bring a level of intimacy to the engagement that’s incredibly special. Token Creative Services has all the knowledge of a larger firm, but they have the quick response rate of a smaller company. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’ve excelled in every area.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Reach out and talk to them. I know they offer a consultation off the bat. Getting a good conversation going is important, even from the beginning they had a lot of suggestions about our business. 

For example, they had the idea to send a stuffed animal to our clients. That way they create social media content for us by taking pictures of it in their office environment. At least find out who they are and how they can benefit your company.

I am the president and CEO of NaturalSci Regulatory Consulting Corp. We help prevent natural product recalls by providing product licensing or labeling compliant services to natural health product brands like vitamins, sports nutrition, cosmetics, and veterinary health.

What challenge were you trying to address with Token Creative Services?

Before we started working with them, I had spent zero dollars in marketing efforts, simply choosing to build our business through referral relationships and strategic alliances.

We had developed to a point where I was ready to put money into marketing and refresh the look of our website in order to really ramp up our engagement, and I needed to outsource backend Google management to somebody for that.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with a creative session with both full teams together, and they really took the time to understand our vision and our target clients. We wanted to work with someone who knew what our company culture was, and they really understood that.

From there, Token Creative Services came up with a design plan for our website and once we approved it, executed on that. Then they took our information and infrastructure and optimized it for organic SEO, and then started to maintain other SEO efforts as well.

I am mostly working directly with the two co-founders, and they kind of run the show, but I am also in contact with the person running the backend for our Google Ads and a project manager as well. I would say they probably have about four people on the project in total.

I’ve known the co-founders for a little while now. We met through a community event at the Chamber of Commerce, and we developed a friendship. I had actually hired someone else to manage my social media, but when I was ready to put real money into the marketing side of the business, I knew that I could trust Token Creative Services with the full image of my brand.

We have a very niche market, so we have about a 13% click-through rate on our website. We’ve been tracking all the inbound calls and contact forms that have come from their ads and been converted into deals, and we can tell that it has been a really good investment so far. I know they have very specific, complex charts with more exact numbers on that, but I haven’t memorized them.

How did Token Creative Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They do an excellent job of knowing exactly what’s going on at all times. Our project manager gives me frequent updates about what they’re doing, what’s coming up next, and what I need to be focused on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had both teams fully involved from the start, and everyone was able to collaborate and brainstorm on what we should do. Their approach has been like that throughout the engagement. They are very collaborative, and I’ve just been blown away by their willingness to take the time to learn about our industry and what our underlying business goals are.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could potentially make their lead tracking and success metrics a little bit more CEO-friendly, but that’s never been a problem because of how up to date they keep me.

If you have a particular vision or something you’re trying to express, you should have open communication with them because they are receptive and really want to execute exactly what you have in mind.

I'm the general manager of a private, nonprofit, affordable housing provider. We have 764 rental properties in the city of Kitchener, and we rent those out at affordable rates.

What challenge were you trying to address with Token Creative Services?

We had an outdated website, and we wanted to modernize our organization’s branding. We had a strategic plan where we identified that we wanted to be a landlord of choice. So, we wanted a brand and website that would portray that to the public. 

We also wanted the website to serve as a tool for our clients to get information, submit repair requests, and interact with us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped shift the look and feel of our organization to reflect that we’re a housing organization that’s focused on the people living within our housing. For example, we changed our verbiage from “units” to “homes.” They also changed our logo, photographed ID tags for our staff, and had lanyards for business cards created.

The team developed a new website from scratch. The new site had much of the same content as the old site, but a different design. They also developed a board portal so we could send board packages to our board members electronically. We have hired a resident engagement coordinator to work with Token to further enhance the website.

What is the team composition?

They bring in specific people for their expertise at certain times.

I started out working with Mohsan (CEO, Token Creative Services). Another employee did creative work on our logos and the layout of our website. Jordan (Co-Founder, Token Creative Services) and another employee named Jordan did the programming work. 

How did you come to work with Token Creative Services?

Since we’re a nonprofit using public funds, we did an invitation to bid. I received three quotes from three companies. Token’s pricing was the most competitive for what they could provide. 

They took the time and effort to understand what we wanted to achieve instead of simply responding to the invitation with a boilerplate response. The other bids were really well done, but Token seemed to go the extra mile.

How much have you invested with them?

Originally, we were quoted around $5,000, but we didn’t end up spending that much. They manage our website on an ongoing basis, and that costs around $800 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in 2016, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The resident engagement coordinator receives traffic reports about the site, but I believe we’re getting more traffic. (We’re not really using the website to market ourselves because the need for affordable housing is so great.) Also, the board portal has made it much easier for our members to log in and pull down their package.

Token really understands who we are, what we’re all about, and how we want to project ourselves as a people-focused organization. Beyond the technical matters of creating a website, they really understand the messaging we want to convey.

How did Token Creative Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We usually communicate via email. For presentations, they’ve come in to present the website to the full staff as well as their proposal to the board. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re energetic, flexible, and a real pleasure to work with. They understand that our best-laid plans aren’t necessarily going to come to fruition in a particular period of time due to issues like staff constraints.

It was nice to support a company that’s starting up because they went the extra mile to work with us as a client. Also, their creativity has been very much appreciated.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had a few glitches with the programming of the website in the beginning. But, since then, they’ve made significant strides.  

During our first try, there were things that weren’t AODA compliant (e.g. permissions on the bottom of a website). However, they’ve learned this as they’ve matured. We didn’t know that you needed to have all that done, either. We’ve both advanced since then.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Potential customers should be really clear about the audience, the message you want to convey, the image, and the look and feel. They will come back with some creative suggestions on how to achieve that. 

There’s never been a time where they’ve said: “No, we can’t do that.” They will even work with our software company to troubleshoot problems.

I’m the sales manager of a windows and doors company. We’re a family-owned and -operated manufacturer, so we deal directly to the public.

We’d been working with bigger corporations for our marketing needs, but they weren’t giving us the attention we required. So we hired Token Creative Services to provide personalized marketing services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we first began working with them, they ran online advertising campaigns, including social media marketing and creating a landing page, home page, and contact page for us to revamp the site. From there, we signed a six-month contract with them. One item they created for us recently was a podcast. 

They currently run Google Ads campaigns and manage our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts, posting about two times a week. Recently, they’ve run a giveaway on social media. They did a lot of research into who participated and identified who could be a potential client from those who entered. They refined who could be a candidate that fit our target audience to have a chance at winning the gift card. 

Now, they’re handling the next stages of our website. This includes revamping the rest of our pages and moving everything over to a WordPress platform and designing it to make it user-friendly.

We’re regularly in contact with 2–3 people. When I was taking a business course, Curtis (COO, Token Creative Services) came to our class and gave a great talk. I knew we were looking for a better company that could give us more attention, so I decided to reach out for their services. They came to our office, gave us a good idea of their skills, and we ended up hiring them.

We hired Token Creative Services in March 2019 and have an ongoing engagement.

We’ve noticed a definite increase in traffic across our social media accounts. Before, we’d post something and I’d go a few months without seeing any engagement on it. Now, the posts they create highlight our work and drive a lot of traffic to our pages. Their giveaway idea ended up being very successful, earning over 500 participants. 

How did Token Creative Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We have monthly meetings and conference calls with them every month, and they send us statistics to review. Their team then explains everything to us and helps us understand what we’re looking at. 

We primarily speak over email, especially follow-up messages to touch base about once a week. They incorporate our feedback regularly to improve the campaigns and plan for the future. We’re local to one another, so we’ve done a few in-person meetings to get a better sense of certain projects, too. They’re very on top of communication with us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a young team with a new look on marketing, so it’s been a breath of fresh air. We like their view on the work compared to the more traditional firms that aren’t invested in our success. They truly know how to capture our target audience’s attention and we’re impressed with their approach. 

We appreciate that they’re always working to improve and find new ways to accomplish our goals. From the beginning, they told us they would only sign on to a project with us if it was the right fit, so we knew they would be honest and invested in our engagement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At this point, there’s nothing I would really change—they’ve been really good. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I suggest sitting down with them and hear their team out. They truly know what they’re talking about and everything is transparent. The best thing to do is to give them a chance.

I’m the CEO of DTI Logistics. We’re a freight forwarding company that transports goods by truck throughout North America.

What challenge were you trying to address with Token Creative Services?

We wanted to increase our sales and attract more clients. We needed help with expanding our digital marketing presence.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Token Creative Services started our engagement by creating posts for our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn profiles. After a while, we decided to take over that process internally and moved Token Creative Services to manage our Google Ads activities and our website. 

They updated our website and created a video to put on it. Before launching a Google Ads campaign, they created a landing page for our users to click through to. That way, visitors can easily get information and decide if we’re the right fit for them.

Google Ads initially penalized us because Token Creative Services didn’t secure our sites. They had to go back and do that before starting our campaign. We carefully monitor what works and doesn’t work, making tweaks and scheduling monthly meetings to look at our analytics.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Initially, it wasn’t a good fit. We had a rocky start where they didn’t seem to spend enough time on our project. I reached out to Jordan S. and asked what was going on. After that, something changed within Token Creative Services, and we started to see results within the last two months. 

We discuss our analytics every month. Last month, we did not meet our goals, and the month before, we saw phenomenal results. So, for this month coming up, we made more changes based on suggestions and adjusted our budget. We’re still working to align our analytics and how we measure leads, but we expect to get that sorted by next month.

It’s been a night-and-day difference between the start of the project and where we are currently, and we hope they keep doing what they’re doing now.

How did Token Creative Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate on an as-needed basis. Our internal analytics person works with Token Creative Services to align on metrics and what changes to make to improve our results. By having an internal person measuring their work on our end, we don’t have to wait until the end of the month to hear results and make adjustments. Otherwise, we have our monthly meeting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The changes that Token Creative Services makes based on their performance stand out. When the site’s not performing well or we don't see enough leads, we can trust that Token Creative Services is reviewing the data and checking it against our goals. We can then go to work and adapt things to meet next month’s goal. They now have the staff and expertise to meet our needs as a client.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. Their level of communication is excellent. I never have to chase Token Creative Services down for a monthly meeting. They’re now one step ahead of us.

Any advice for potential customers?

Tell Token Creative Services exactly what you want and what your expectations are. Be very clear and keep them responsible.
