What challenge were you trying to address with TechProComp?

We needed help with our general IT services. Before we hired TechProComp, we were doing all the IT work in-house, which got to be a burden once we had more than five employees.

TechProComp provides us with general IT services. The team manages our software and hardware. For example, when we have a new employee, TechProComp sets up their monitors and laptops. The team can also remotely access our devices and helps us with cybersecurity. TechProComp has also provided us with off-the-shelf software solutions.

Thanks to TechProComp, my team doesn’t need to spend much time on anything IT-related. We just put in a ticket, and TechProComp shows up. Our employees can rest assured knowing that there’s someone on the other line who will address their issues in a timely manner.

Our IT infrastructure was old and had not scaled with the company, as we went from 30 employees to 130. Slobo and his team assessed our situation and came up with a game plan on how to accomplish modernizing our company’s technology. We started by upgrading our network. Tech Pro Comp replaced network hardware, improved wireless coverage, and enhanced cable management to ensure optimal performance, redundancy, and manageability.

Honestly, the only thing they could improve on is cloning themselves—because with service this good, we’d love to have them everywhere at once! Until science catches up, we’ll just have to settle for being spoiled by the best.

I’m the facilities manager for Salient Systems, a video management software company. We develop software that controls camera systems for many different companies, ranging from NFL teams to government buildings all over the world.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechProComp?

TechProComp stepped in to fill a big knowledge gap we had in the network side of our company. Before they came on board, we had a network administrator who had to leave. This person was more on the system’s side of things and had knowledge of hardware, VMs, and AWS, but he hasn’t too keen on Cisco or proper network security.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TechProComp has helped us fill the gap in our IT team. They help us configure our network and find holes in it to fix them, as well as with a wide variety of IT-related tasks. For example, we’re currently working on a firewall installation to better secure our network. Additionally, they’ve created a set of documentation for us on how to implement and change certain things related to our systems.

One of the important projects they’ve done for us has been helping us configure our WiFi security. They found a weakness in our WiFi setup that could have allowed someone to enter our internal network

Our IT administrator at the time found them while looking for IT companies in Austin, Texas. Most of our providers are local small businesses, and that wasn’t the exception when looking for an IT partner.

We started working together around April 2021, and our engagement is ongoing. However, our last project is booked for mid-August 2022 because we recently hired an internal network administrator.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

TechProComp has helped make our business secure. Since they joined, we haven’t experienced any vulnerabilities in our network. As a result of these efforts, they’ve given us peace of mind.

When our network administrator left the company, we were left with a large void in our network infrastructure. However, we know that Slobodan and his team are there, and they can address any issues if needed.

How did TechProComp perform from a project management standpoint?

TechProComp is always there when we need them. Whenever we call them, they’re very quick to respond and solve issues. Additionally, they’ve shown a great willingness to work after hours or on Saturdays to avoid interrupting our workflow. We typically communicate via phone calls, text messages, and emails, and they also use a project management tool on their end.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechProComp IT Solutions?

We’re a small company that moves fast, so when we need things done, we need them done immediately. Thus, we needed a responsive and reliable managed IT services provider.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

TechProComp is our IT partner. They’re in charge of everything, from monitoring our servers 24/7 and handling our building security to executing the hardware setups we need. Whenever we have an issue with our servers, equipment, or internet network, we submit a ticket to their helpdesk, and they call us right away.

TechProComp also guides us using our video cameras to help us sort server issues as fast as possible. Whenever we need to terminate an employee, they support the process by removing their access credentials to our secured systems. Additionally, if we need in-person assistance for hardware setups, they present in our offices the same week if not the same day.

My chief officers have also told me that TechProComp continuously recommends software updates or changes, providing feedback on which technology would be better for us to use. For example, around two years ago, they helped us move from one accounting software to another, supporting us and troubleshooting issues along the way.

We’ve worked with three people from TechProComp, including Slobo (Owner), an on-site technician, and a remote technician.

Slobo worked for our company internally, but he decided to open and run his own business. We could have looked for another in-house IT engineer, but given that he already knew how we worked, we decided to hire his new company.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Having TechProComp’s availability in coming to the site whenever needed has been really helpful. I’m also building a team that has grown from 4–19 members in a span of 4–6 months. Still, TechProComp has been able to set up the computer systems needed within 3–5 business days each.

Generally speaking, TechProComp has never dropped the ball; their customer service is outstanding. They always keep our systems up and running, and they’ve been very helpful as my team keeps growing.

How did TechProComp IT Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

TechProComp is very responsive, fast, thorough, and great at staying on budget. They always listen to us, provide great recommendations, and are willing to meet our needs instead of overspending on things they feel would be better.

TechProComp uses their own ticketing system to manage support requests, and our communication is very easy. Whenever a ticket has high priority, I quickly get support from their team via email, text message, or phone call; they’re always available. Still, their response and turnaround times are fast, no matter if it isn’t an emergency. They usually answer regular requests within 30 minutes to an hour.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TechProComp’s customer service is very impressive. One time, their owner was gone for over a month. When I knew he would be absent, I was worried about the performance of his team. However, they still performed phenomenally; we didn’t experience any hiccups during his absence. Additionally, TechProComp is very knowledgeable about the latest software technologies, so they’re very capable of providing input regarding technologies that offer the most value for the money.
