We just launched the website, so we don’t have metrics yet. Nonetheless, the users’ response to the site has been positive. We’ve found some bugs, but Technotery has been there to support us and solve them.

Communication is excellent. Some of the deadlines were extended, but it wasn’t too bad.

We mainly communicate through phone calls, and sometimes we use emails.

We provide pharmaceutical packaging materials to various pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Founded in 2012 we have a customer base of more than 100 clients in the B2B space.

We wanted to document our range of products and create a refreshing digital presence for our company. Additionally we required an internal system for sharing documents and collaboration.

We hired Technotery to design and develop a fully customized content management system which can be used for our internal purpose as well as publishing content related to our products online.

We got a reference of this vendor via a partner company who had heavily recommended this vendor to us. They had a good track record and result-oriented approach. Their strategic approach to solve problems and excellent client communication were the key drivers to choosing them.

They designed, developed and configured a dedicated back-end for managing the content. They first began with the requirement gathering phase wherein they interviewed the stakeholders of the system. Then they created data structure and navigation workflow. After its approval they started creating standalone functional components and tested them thoroughly.

Finally they presented each component for user acceptance and after our approval they integrated the whole system along with the website. Additionally they setup the trackers for Google Search and Facebook Pixel and also helped us set up our digital marketing pipeline and social media presence.

What was the team composition?

The project team that coordinated with us consisted of four people - one project manager, one designer, one developer and one business analyst.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project was completed as scheduled and they performed very well - beyond expectations. Now we have an internal hierarchy who access the various components of the content management system to manage the internal communications/document sharing and publishing the content on our website.

The project management was very smooth and impressive. They complied with all the deadlines and additionally provided us with valuable suggestions and insights during the process.

The whole team was directly accessible for communication via the communication and project management tool that we used for coordination.

There is little they could improve, they did very well what was entrusted to them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Technotery?

We needed a company to help us to move to a WordPress-based website because it’s better for SEO.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Technotery helped us with domain migration, transferring all our data including, including photos, videos, text content, etc. They also assisted with improving the look and feel of the website. 

They first worked with us to understand what we were looking for. Every Squarespace feature has a corresponding add-on, and they took care of finding out what the corresponding add-ons were for us. Some of them didn’t have a clear support system, so Technoetery actually wrote to the creators of those add-ons to ask how they worked. They made the effort of reaching out to WordPress, our SIM provider, and others to make sure we had a seamless experience. After they figured out all the details surrounding compatibility, they spent almost three weeks in transferring the website from Squarespace to WordPress.

They worked on the CMS, frontend, and backend of the website. Once we found that WordPress could do more than what Squarespace can, we were able to do a lot of customizations to the look and feel. We got larger photos on the front page and also included videos, and were able to stack them into a 3x3 format. There wasn’t a lot of design work involved, but Technotery did handle a reasonable amount of it.

Technotery apportioned an account manager to be our main point of contact. They also assigned a designer and a developer.

How did you come to work with Technotery?

I had listed the project on Upwork and several people responded. Technotery was the only one that reached out and told us what they could do, how it would look, the timeframe it would take.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent 30,000 INR (approximately $424 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together from August until September 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were able to reliably migrate over 800–900 images from Squarespace to WordPress without losing anything. It really positively impacted our SEO ranking. We used to have only three landing pages on a Squarespace and we now have nine landing pages with different candid videos and photos, testimonials, a contact page, and more, all thanks to Technotery's expertise. They provided functional and reliable solutions and delivered within the established timeframe and budget. We’ll probably work with them in the future for SEM.

How did Technotery perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was really good. They always kept us informed and we had a common Google Sheet where we both tracked their performance. We also communicated over phone calls. While we did struggle at times with understanding the support issues they were facing, they were very reliable and clear when communicating.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were quickly able to grasp our idea and managed the project really well. Technotery's team was also willing to go the extra mile to make sure that a couple of add-ons that I had chosen would be supported in the future by reaching out to the corresponding support teams. It was something they didn’t need to do, but they did.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can improve their communication skills. They need to be a little better at explaining technical terms in a way that their non-technical clients can understand.

Clients should make the effort of establishing a clear set of desired outcomes. Technotery will offer several options of things they can do, but aren't good at helping clients choose.

pharmACE research laboratory is R&D firm associated with manufacturing of research based chemicals for pharmaceutical companies. I, Dr. Arpit Patwari is a full time working managing partner in the firm.

Just after the launch of the website, Technotery team started working on SEO for the website. Within around 4 months of launch we started getting inquiries from across the globe from major markets of our sector.

The project management was done quite impressively. We were constantly in contact with the team via Skype and Emails. The project manager gave timely updates about the various milestones of the project and details about the deliverable in each phase which was further put for user testing so that we can review the development milestones.
