I’m the founder and CEO of Tee Time. Our main mission is to bring equity and inclusion to the game of golf. We’re developing an app that will enhance and empower individuals to play the game together. Ideally, it will be a community app. Additionally, we sponsor and organize golf tournaments.

We needed help developing our app. It's not my area of expertise, so I needed help in this area.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Technology Rivers has helped us develop our app from scratch. Specifically, they've developed the framework and building blocks for our app. They’ve taken the project from start to finish and helped bring our idea to life.

Moreover, the team has worked on the concept design and overall functionality. They have also given insights into the framework and the app's flow. We’ve built the app for iOS and Android and used Figma to put the app's framework together.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with six individuals, including the project lead. Some team members have worked on functionality, while others have worked on visualization.

A former classmate referred me to Technology Rivers. I reached out to them. We basically had a cold call; their lead followed up and engaged me in conversation. From there, I felt comfortable engaging with them and asked about the next steps. We put a proposal together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Technology Rivers has successfully completed the app. In fact, we’re about to launch the app, so we don’t have any downloads yet. That will be our next phase.

How did Technology Rivers perform from a project management standpoint?

Technology Rivers’ project management is outstanding. They’ve worked quickly and efficiently. Not to mention, they have been receptive to our thoughts and ideas.

Communication-wise, they’re on top of it. We stay in touch through email and Slack. This tool has been great since it allows us to touch base and quickly make decisions on the fly. We also have consistent calls to stay on task and figure out what’s needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their speed is impressive. Technology Rivers has put the project together quickly. In fact, they've made changes to the functionality and concept within a matter of days. Overall, I have been blown away by the level of communication they provide.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing Technology Rivers can improve. I’ve never been disappointed. I have been fully impressed by their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come prepared with your idea and know it inside and out. The project will run smoothly if you have a lot of detail and know your answers well. Know how to get to the endpoint, and this way, Technology Rivers will do their work even better.

The scope of work will include requirement analysis, user experience, visual design and development of the Konsuld platform (responsive web app), AI development support, as per the application requirements shared via concept document and requirement spreadsheet.

Their project management was very good in terms of communication and updates. It took a little while and some efforts to line up Jira and synching up between internal TR and Konsuld to provide full visibility (per our CTO). No big concerns, just a process to work through. Technology Rivers is very responsive from a project management and communication perspective, and TR leadership has right presence and involvement.

On-boarding process and confirming whom in the team plays what role; that isn't always clear to me as the client CEO. Probably much clearer to our CTO.

We wanted a mobile app to share with health care providers so they would have resources and tools at their fingertips.  We asked for the app to be up and available by June 2024. Development of the app included connecting to documents, videos, podcasts, and helpful links.

Mobile app is available on Apple app store and Google play store.

Tech Rivers did a phenomenal job of interpreting our needs/wants for the app. We met with them weekly to assure timely delivering of the app.  They met every challenge, made every requested change, and continuously fed us information through Slack between meetings. They are a very experienced team, and their customer service is fantastic!

I am the owner of Knowolol, a small startup.

What challenge were you trying to address with Technology Rivers?

We needed their help with our mobile app. We used another company to create our app, but after a year of working with that company, the app they delivered wasn't very good. Thus, we parted ways with that company and searched for another company that could help us redo it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we provided Technology Rivers with what we had so far but told them that we wanted to start from scratch because the current app wasn't very good. the prior company had made an iOS version only, and we were looking for a hybrid version.

Therefore, Technolgy Rivers started building a new app completely from scratch for us. This included brainstorming, going through a whole development process, and testing the app. Although we already had some ideas for what we were looking for, this was a collaborative development process. Now, we have a product in both the App Store and Google Play. As for the technology stack, they used hybrid software to create the hybrid app.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with 4–5 teammates from Technology Rivers, including Ghazenfer (Founder & CEO).

How did you come to work with Technology Rivers?

We were looking for companies online. When we came across Ghazenfer and Technology Rivers, we signed with them. It seemed like they had a really good experience doing similar healthcare apps. Additionally, I saw a lot of consistent recent reviews of them, and all of them were very positive.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around April 2024, and our engagement is ongoing. However, we're not working as closely as before due to a personal financial issue. Still, whenever we have issues or questions, we go directly to them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Compared to the first version of our app, our new app doesn't crash, works consistently, is more accurate, and has a more natural UI that flows and works better. Basically, it is what we originally wanted. Additionally, according to the feedback we're getting, the second version of our app is definitely a step up, as it has represented a vast improvement.

How did Technology Rivers perform from a project management standpoint?

We've had a lot of Zoom calls and communicated via Slack back and forth, so there has been a lot of dialog to come up with the final product. Technology Rivers is very honest and realistic, which is very helpful. Instead of setting really aggressive milestones, they've been honest about what they think they can do.

Using Slack is new for us, but it has been helpful as well because everything is there, including all our prior conversations. If I have any questions, I can always refer to those conversations and see our past discussions. In addition to that, Technology Rivers has delivered on time and on budget.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

The entire team has done a really good job. One of the things that I appreciate is that Ghazenfer has remained involved throughout the project. During my first experience with the other company, we met the CEO, and we were very excited by what he promised. However, after signing with them, I basically never heard from him throughout the process.

In comparison, my experience with Technology Rivers has been great because we've been able to speak with Ghazenfer, and he has provided us with ideas and walked us through the entire journey from start to finish, which has been very helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate that Technology Rivers has been very quick to answer my questions. I can just ask a question on Slack and have all their team members see it. That way, whoever is working on that part of the project feels comfortable to jump in and answer it. This has prevented miscommunication issues, as I'm directly talking to all their team members and getting immediate feedback, which is helpful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything Technolgy Rivers could improve on. We've basically talked about our problem and defined what we wanted, and they've pretty much followed through. They've done exactly what they promised, so I don't have constructive feedback.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Make sure to know what you want. App developers are obviously there to help you, but you need to have a clear vision and be able to make decisions. They won't make decisions for you, so you need to have a good idea of what you're looking for.

We needed help with web and mobile app development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Technology Rivers has provided web and mobile app design and development from scratch. Based on my concept, the team has created hi-fi wireframes to create the flow and aesthetic look of the app. The team has taken those wireframes to code them and take them through a QA process before launch.

In terms of features, the product allows users to create a profile, invite people, connect their LinkedIn and Facebook profiles, and find other people available within certain tags and locations to interact with.

Someone referred Technology Rivers to us and chose them for this project because they had the experience, resources, and price range we were looking for.

Created Client Portal which tracks usage of multiple service codes and hours service was provided. Many reports can be run including running service hours used per county by client. Created Employee Portal which collects data on each client's progress towards treatment plan goals and tracks hours of service provided to create invoicing and payroll reports.

Many additional reports can be run for HR purposes such as providing benefit packages to those who qualify. Created Treatment Plan portal which allows a professional to create an individualized treatment plan for each client which meets the standard criteria. Created reportable event feature which allows team members to be notified in a crisis situation.

Ghazenfer is very involved in the oversight of the project. He has quickly grown the development team as my vision grew to accommodate my needs. The development team is fantastic! They take much pride in their work and it shows. They listen carefully to our needs and take the time to learn the ins and outs of all of the details of our business to help us better achieve our goals.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Technology Rivers could have done differently?

I can't think of a single thing they could've done better. Technology Rivers has exceeded all of my expectations.

I’m the former CTO of Phone2Action Grassroots, a software offered by Quorum. Quorum is a software development company that provides a platform where nonprofit organizations can launch their advocacy platform. Organizations can also create an advocacy program to engage with their user base and reach out to their local legislative body through the app.

What challenge were you trying to address with Technology Rivers?

We needed to develop a mobile application since we didn’t have a development team at the company. We had developed a previous version of the app, but it was rudimentary, and we wanted to use the same backend servers so our stakeholders could get all relevant information in the app when they met with legislative members since laptops aren’t allowed at those meetings.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Technology Rivers developed an app for iOS and Android devices using our endpoints on the backend to deliver data to the end user. The app allowed users to search for legislative members, schedule meetings, take notes during the meetings, and follow up on these meetings in real-time through the app.

I worked with one senior developer from Technology Rivers. 

How did you come to work with Technology Rivers?

I knew Technology Rivers’ owner personally and knew he was in the development line of work. After checking Technology Rivers’ references, I engaged with them.

We invested around $50,000–$75,000 with Technology Rivers.

We worked with Technology Rivers from May–December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The mobile application that Technology Rivers developed significantly benefited our business since it allowed us to compete with companies that already had an app. Technology Rivers helped us deliver on our product roadmap since we didn’t have a development team. 

How did Technology Rivers perform from a project management standpoint?

Technology Rivers met deadlines and stayed on budget. We had a good communication cadence with regular calls and updates through Slack. Overall, our communication was really effective. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with Technology Rivers’ flexibility to turn around work quickly and respond to our requests. Additionally, Technology Rivers’ ability to effectively communicate the project’s updates and status was really great.

I can’t think of anything for Technology Rivers to improve.

I recommend to give Technology Rivers as much upfront information as possible. Treat them as a partner instead of a service provider, and this way, they’ll provide the right and optimum solution.

I’m the owner of an energy management company that works with other businesses to reduce energy expense costs and help them transition to new technologies for energy production.

What challenge were you trying to address with Technology Rivers?

Our customers had been requesting a customized energy dashboard. We developed a generic dashboard in-house six years ago to allow engineers to interact with meter data in real time. However, we noticed that there were newer web applications out there, so we decided to update it to make it more user-friendly and allow users to customize their dashboards so that they could get the information they wanted immediately. Thus, we reached out to Technology Rivers to help us out.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Technology Rivers has helped us develop the frontend of our energy management dashboard. We’ve been in charge of backend development, and they’ve been in charge of UI/UX development. As for the technology stack, they decided to use React after our initial discussions and discovery process.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with four people and a lead developer from Technology Rivers. The lead developer is my main point of contact in between meetings. Additionally, I originally reached out to their owner, and I’ve had a lot of interaction with him throughout the project. During the initial stages, he acted as the project manager, but we later transitioned to an actual project manager in charge of scheduling our meetings with the development team.

How did you come to work with Technology Rivers?

I had invested a small sum into a friend’s company. They were using Technology Rivers to develop their web app, so being part owner of that company, I already had some indirect experience with them. Thus, when I needed to update my company’s energy management software, I got in contact with Technology Rivers’ owner and had some discussions about what we were trying to accomplish. They were the obvious choice.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent approximately $80,000–$90,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2021, and our engagement is ongoing. However, the project is on hold from my end until I compile a list of user feedback.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Thanks to Technology Rivers’ work, the page load speed of our product has improved by around 95% compared to our legacy product’s loading speed — it is a lot faster now. We deal with 30,000 data points; still, it loads very quickly.

Moreover, seeing our ideas come to fruition thanks to Technology Rivers has been outstanding. Throughout the project, we’ve thrown them ideas of what our app users would like to see on our product, and we’ve had quick discussions where they’ve figured out how to implement them. Their turnaround time for coming up with solutions and making those abstract ideas a reality has been very quick.

How did Technology Rivers perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m more than satisfied with Technology Rivers’ performance, and I’m very happy with them. We use Slack to communicate and Jira for project management. On Jira, we can see what they’re doing, and they use it to track their progress and tell me their current tasks. We also use Google Docs to keep track of items and Balsamiq to create mock-ups.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Technology Rivers’ personable nature is outstanding. Initially, I felt very comfortable reaching out directly to their owner to talk about the project. Additionally, I really appreciate their flexibility. I initially didn’t have a clear understanding of our project’s end goals, but they’ve been very accommodating to different ideas and changes throughout the process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any complaints about their work. If I had to restart the project, I would still choose them.

Technology Rivers handles many of our software development lifecycles, including the UI/UX designs. They’ve worked on the wireframes of our software's front- and backend sides — they’re involved in everything related to software development. The technologies they use include React.js, .NET, PostgreSQL, Python, PHP, and AWS.

We’ve worked with 5–6 members from Technology Rivers. One is a project manager, and there are 3–4 developers working behind the scenes.

One of my advisors referred me to Technology Rivers. He knew their work from before, and we needed their services. As a result, we engaged them.

So far, we’ve spent around $100,000.

The partnership started in June 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

We’ve launched our platform with Technology Rivers’ help. Our company is about to have a funding round, and we’re raising about $2.5 million — you can attribute this to what the Technology Rivers team has done. 

How did Technology Rivers perform from a project management standpoint?

Our communications are great. We mainly communicate through Slack and have video conferences and telephone calls. I can call them whenever needed; they’re always available if I need anything or have to talk to them about something.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Being a non-technical founder, I have a vision of what I want. Technology Rivers has far exceeded my expectations of them. They’ve taken my vision and implemented it based on their experience and expertise.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I haven’t encountered any problems with them; they’ve always been available when I need something. As an early-stage startup, we’re always looking out for our costs, but we understand that they’re also running a business.

Be available. There will be a lot of back and forth in the beginning because they need to figure out what you want and how best to deliver it to you. Communicate things and be available so they can provide recommendations that might be better than what you originally envisioned.
