I hired Tech Exactly to develop a mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Tech Exactly is developing an iOS and Android mobile app for us. Their primary work has revolved around developing the framework of a workout tracker app, integrating an algorithm-based progression display viewer.

Initially, we had a meeting with Tech Exactly, during which I outlined what I wanted. I provided them with an in-depth, detailed description of all the aspects I wanted the app to include. Tech Exactly spent that first call listening and asking questions where necessary.

Then, we had a second call with them, where they showed me what they could do and what they wanted to do based on my brief. After that, we had a third meeting, where we combined the insights of the two previous calls and made an agreement to move forward with the project.

I've interacted with at least 5–6 teammates from Tech Exactly. I don't know how many more team members are involved, but I know that they're quite a big company.

How did you come to work with Tech Exactly?
Tech Exactly was originally one of the 10 different companies I approached based on an online search. The main thing that made me choose them over their competitors was the range of work they had done. Although they hadn't done a lot of work with companies in my particular industry, they had done a lot of work in different industries, focusing on mobile app development. Moreover, their cost-effectiveness was a factor in choosing them.

What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around August 2023, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
My business itself is in its infancy, so we haven't noticed a significant impact on it due to this engagement. Still, the business is heavily reliant on this particular app. Nevertheless, everything has been very good so far. Tech Exactly has met and surpassed our expectations.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?
Tech Exactly is open to suggestions and always available to chat. There's a time difference between us, but it hasn't affected the development process or any day-to-day communication, which is good. The team has also delivered on budget.

Regarding the timeline, we ran a little bit late one time, but the delay was caused by a miscommunication issue. We've also experienced the ongoing, normal issues related to the development process.

What did you find most impressive about them?
The thing I like the most about Tech Exactly's services is their ability to take information and create something that originally was only in my head. They've been able to develop components for the app without a blueprint; they're very skilled in that regard.

Are there any areas they could improve?
There's nothing Tech Exacly could improve on.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Make sure you have a very detailed brief because it'll help the development team have a better understanding of what you want. The aspects that have taken the longest to develop have been the aspects for which I haven't provided a detailed explanation. This has caused us to go back and forth a few times to get things right.

The project is on going and so far they are doing a great job. Well organized as a team, good comminutions, milestone deliveries on time. Good UI/UX, great app features. etc

Great project manager. Weekly follow ups, time management and great communication.

Very organized and good follow up on projects and milestones. Responsive to owner's requirements. They are good and experienced developers.

More emphasis on tracking and time management. But in general it is just perfect team to work with.

Tech Exactly has developed a website for our therapists — all the work that our therapists do are incorporated within the website. The team has worked on everything. They’ve provided recommendations for the website’s plug-ins, HIPAA-compliant software by third parties, and audio-visual software owned by another third party. They provided me with options for each of those.

I worked directly with around five people, including the company’s owner. We had weekly calls with the two project managers, who had integral roles in the development side of things.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

What Tech Exactly has created is excellent. The site is extremely user-friendly. From start to finish, the team has been friendly and involved; they come up with great and innovative ideas. The best part of working with them isn’t only their communication and constant involvement but also their independence in terms of coming up with ideas, flows, and processes. 

Overall, they’ve been truly innovative. Since I don’t come from a tech background, I find this to be truly helpful. They’ve given me a lot of suggestions and ideas along the way. 

How did Tech Exactly perform from a project management standpoint?

They use a couple of communication platforms to share information with me. We have a Slack channel; they use Basecamp, which is a little more user-friendly in terms of sharing documents. Most of our communication takes place through one of these two platforms and weekly meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

From a business perspective, financials are important. Tech Exactly is cheaper than some of their rivals. Apart from that, their web developers are impressive. They have a wide range of products they’ve developed for other companies. Their resources pull their experience and knowledge of those business models and markets, and they then combine all ideas together to know what works best and what doesn’t. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. Their communication is great, and their price is good.

If you need a mobile app, you should go with them. They’re outstanding; they’re cost-effective, don’t ask for extreme prices, are reasonable, and deliver quality work.
