What challenge were you trying to address with Studio East?

We were looking for full-service, hassle-free, professional digital presence services. This was a new business, and we had no idea about branding, domain hosting, website, etc. We wanted to have a professional-looking internet presence that still communicated our quirky personality.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of work?

Studio East provided full-service branding and website development. We started with a blank page and ended up with an identity, a brand, a domain, hosting, a website, corporate materials, an email address, and ongoing support services. They started with interviews and documented what we had in mind. Then, they generated several different motifs and brands and worked with us to adjust and redefine until we had something we were delighted with. They also helped us trouble-shoot some pre-existing IT issues… this was outside the scope of their mandate, but I really appreciated that they helped anyways.

We found them through a referral.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them around August 2024. They finished the heavy lifting quickly and efficiently. The website is up, and we consider the branding exercise complete. However, it's great that Studio East is available to provide ongoing support services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We consider the website and branding a success. We've heard that the website matches our personality. It's professional, but it's still lighthearted and fun. This was not an easy balance to achieve, but the Studio East team did a nice job of it.

How did Studio East perform from a project management standpoint?

Studio East delivered on time and responded well to our needs. We changed our minds a few times, but the Studio East team handled this professionally, with patience and humor. They provided very clear communication regarding the timeline, budget, and deliverables. The delivery was consistent with the expectations. We communicate via email and video conferences.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Studio East's team communicated well with each other, so I never felt like I was speaking to a new person who wasn't already up to speed and briefed by their colleagues.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, it was a pleasure to work with them.

Studio East designed and developed a fully functional, performant, and visually appealing website. The website didn't have many features or functionalities, but it effectively conveyed what our business was about and the diversity of our recruitment process. We gave Studio East full creative discretion over the design choices.

We worked with Studio East from July–September 2024. In addition, they have a flexible and rolling contract with us.

Our client base has increased by 40%, and we've seen a 15%–20% month-to-month revenue increase since January 2025. The site conveyed our business identity: it's all about the name, its immortality, and the driving force behind everything, 'the people'

How did Studio East perform from a project management standpoint?

Studio East delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. We primarily communicated via video calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In pretty much every case, the best deal you make is before you sign the contract. Where Studio East stood out was their energy, not just prior to but throughout their working relationship with us. They were a breath of fresh air.

They did a lot very well indeed.
