**The Review** — Jun 1, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The client is exceedingly satisfied with STRV’s high-quality work, which is a success. In just one year, the app gained 150,000 active users. The team works closely and communicates daily and weekly through Slack and video calls. Overall, they stand out for their excellent performance as partners.
""We have nothing to complain about STRV. They’re excellent in their work.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a product owner for the My Porsche App, which is the central app for Porsche customers who want to connect their smartphones with their vehicles.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

Back in the day, Porsche had several mobile apps for customers. STRV was hired as part of a team to combine these several apps' most important features and bring them together into one.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV staffs one of several product teams. They serve all required domains of a fully self-empowered team: Design, Android, iOS and Backend development plus QA. Those members closely work together with Porsche's product management.

What is the team composition?

We have designers and seven developers overall.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between €1–€1.5 million (approximately $1.2–$2 million USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in January 2020, and our relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app went live in the summer of 2021; we now have 150,000 active users. From a company perspective, that's a tremendous success. There’s always room to improve, but we’re really happy so far.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re from Prague, so they’re an offshore partner. They’re comparably cheaper than all the other vendors we work with, so there’s nothing to complain about in terms of budget.

Moreover, we constantly work with them. STRV is busy with our daily work, and it’s an ongoing process. We meet daily, and there’s a prototype once a week. We mainly communicate through Slack, and each morning we have a video call.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked in software development for eight years, and I’d never experienced a provider that always delivers such high quality on time. Usually, if you have a large provider that bring all types of people to the table, you can have someone who isn’t that good. However, we have nothing to complain about STRV. They’re excellent in their work. It’s a bold statement, but these people are currently one of the best people we’ve worked with so far.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing they weren’t able to provide was additional backend support at short notice. We tried to get more people, which is currently impossible because the whole market in Europe has a shortage of backend developers. Other than that, there isn’t anything in particular.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If it’s possible, visit their office in Prague.

**The Review** — May 27, 2025

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to STRV's support, the client has deployed the new infrastructure and code. The team has been attentive, has responded quickly to any issues, questions, bugs, or code reviews, and has handled the project well using GitHub and Microsoft Teams. Overall, the team's expertise has stood out.
""Everything has been handled well.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm an executive at a gifting company specializing in floral e-commerce. We have a centralized brand where we serve as a direct-to-consumer business to fulfill special moments across the U.S. for gifters looking to send a gift.We also have a decentralized model where we act as Shopify for local florists. We provide the entire e-commerce stack, including websites and marketing services, so these local shops can bring their domain and we host their website and give them the latest technology to run their business.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?We have an internal development team, but we're small. Our biggest need was twofold: one on the DevOps side, and we didn't have anyone dedicated to infrastructure and architecture maintenance, as well as the frontend in Next.js.We were in the middle of a project to upgrade our existing tech stack from a legacy model from 15 years ago with CakePHP, and we wanted to modernize our tech stack into the 21st century with Next.js. We were looking for a proven expert who could guide our internal team and take the burden off of all that infrastructure and architecture stuff so that we could focus more on feature building.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?STRV provides custom software development. We structured a few different phases of the project and created mini SOWs for each phase. The first one, they came in more as a consultant; they were just analyzing what we had done and provided recommendations to help guide our team. We quickly realized that what was going to be even more helpful was for them to code alongside our team. The key technologies used to build this solution are Next.js for the frontend and all the infrastructure for the backend. We've used Playwright tests for end-to-end testing, and all the AWS infrastructure is needed to get everything ready. We also use Terraform for deployment. We're in the final phase of work right now, which is a three-month support retainer. Our team now has full ownership, but we can email you to request help or services. What is the team composition? We work with Ash as our main point of contact, Vitaly as the frontend engineer, and Tomas as the backend engineer. How did you come to work with STRV?We were talking with Vercel because we were trying to figure out whether we were going to host on Vercel or AWS. Through looking at the partner program on Vercel's website, we found STRV. In those conversations, they recommended specifically Tomas and Vitaly as the best two to help with this project. They were one of the few ones that checked all the boxes we were looking for. When I spoke with Ash, the partner and managing director, there was an immediate synergy; we got each other, and it clicked from that point forward. How much have you invested with them? We’ve invested between $150,000–$200,000.What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in November 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The biggest thing that was measuring success was unblocking our team and getting to the point where we were able to deploy all the new infrastructure and the new code. We've met biweekly, and there has been a lot of good feedback. The ultimate test has been to get the system end-to-end up and alive, and we've been able to do that. I've already been very pleased with the work they've been doing and all the learnings our team has been having because of the engagement. We've hit that milestone, which has been significant. We've definitely had a lot of issues, and part of what they've recommended is a complete refactoring of what we've built. This put the onus on our team to do some rework, but this is now setting us up for a much more scalable and better code base. Anything that has come up, any issues, questions, bugs, or code reviews, they've always been very attentive and have replied quickly to get us back on track. How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?Everything has been handled well. We've used GitHub for documentation and infrastructure pieces, and we've handled everything through regular meeting syncs and GitHub. We've used Microsoft Teams as the primary day-to-day communication channel. What did you find most impressive about them?Their expertise has been impressive. Anytime we've encountered a problem and had a question, there has been a breadth of expertise or things that they have seen with other clients. They have seen a lot more than our team has, and that breadth and depth have been really helpful. Are there any areas they could improve? Some of the communication has been a little too direct. A lot of our team members who aren't used to that style of communication sometimes felt like we were doing something wrong. That is the only change in style that we had to get used to.Do you have any advice for potential customers?I communicated really well with Ash from an outside perspective to ensure the project was running smoothly. Internally, I had my lead developer on the project, ensuring he was giving me updates and getting what he needed from STRV.The recommendation would be to create enough structure so that things are moving along, but not too much so that it slows down from a bureaucracy standpoint. So, for example, in our use case, JIRA would have been overkill, but keeping things organic and light was super helpful.IAnd like I said, the great thing was that STRV was very, very responsive. Any time that we had a team's message or anything, there wasn't a lag or delay. Even though there was that time difference between the states and where they were, they were always jumping on and helping us through.

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm the COO and co-founder of Mustard, a company that offers a motion analysis app.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?We needed software development services, including UI/UX design, frontend development, and QC to build a golf product. Our goal was to create an MVP we could release to the marketplace.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?STRV has helped us build a golf product from scratch. The team has gone from an idea to a beta app to a product launched in the market. STRV works with our backend developer and computer vision team, who have built the app's backend using Ruby on Rails. What is the team composition? We've worked with a product manager, two frontend developers, a designer, and a QA engineer, as well as various teammates from STRV's business team. How did you come to work with STRV?STRV reached out to us. We talked to the team for a long time and got comfortable with them. We understood STRV was in it for the long haul and met them in person in Los Angeles. We talked to about nine agencies in our search and narrowed it down to STRV because we saw the great design work they had done with previous apps they had developed. STRV's Clutch reviews were helpful, and we also saw the types of developers they would have on the project, which was helpful. How much have you invested with them? We've spent $150,000 on the MVP, and overall, we've spent around $350,000.What is the status of this engagement? We started working with STRV in December 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?STRV has successfully launched the app's first version on the App Store. Our metrics are production metrics related to our internal team's vision. STRV's work quality meets our expectations and has integrated the whole team so that we all work well together. We learned from working with previous agencies to not keep several projects ongoing, so the fact we're still working with STRV tells how happy we are with their work. How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?STRV has delivered the MVP and launched the app's first version on time and on budget. STRV communicates well with us. We've added the team to our Slack and use Jira for product management. We also use Google Docs for requirements. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Veronika (Product Manager) has been wonderful. She has put together the whole project and integrated the team. Veronika provides accurate estimates. Are there any areas they could improve?STRV has excellent designers, but design can be a roadblock, and we could use more design hours. However, the team is in the process of hiring designers, and this may not be an issue for much longer. Do you have any advice for potential customers?New clients are in good hands working with STRV. Customers will find a partner who is upfront and honest with them, trying to get the work done in the best way possible.

- Industry: Manufacturing

**The Review** — Apr 9, 2024

**Feedback Summary**: Though the app has not been launched yet, the client has been satisfied with the work from STRV and has received positive feedback. The team has supplied strong management and delivers on time. The client has been impressed with STRV’s flexibility and ability to understand issues quickly.
"“We think we get a lot of value for what we pay.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I am a senior applications engineer for a semiconductor manufacturing company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?We were looking to modernize our equipment because some of our UI components were becoming obsolete, and we wanted to create something new. Our goal was to base our UI software on an Apple product which is considered unusual, so we knew we needed external expertise.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We initially provided STRV with a detailed list of our requirements and a basic idea of what we wanted the software to do. Based on this information, they began designing an iOS-based app. What is the team composition? We work with about four individuals from STRV. How did you come to work with STRV?The decision to work with STRV was made before I joined the company. How much have you invested with them?I think it might be around $300,000. What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in June 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We don’t have any concrete metrics because the product is still not out of the testing phase. However, what we have tested has received positive feedback. Their work is very good; we have run into a few bugs, but they are more on our side than STRV's. How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?Everything has been delivered on time. There have been a few pieces of the project that we didn’t plan for that have caused some problems, but they aren’t major. We are under the impression that their team is very well-managed because everything flows smoothly. What did you find most impressive about them?We have been particularly impressed with the first project manager we worked with and one of our developers. The team completes work quickly and responds promptly. They work in an agile manner and are enjoyable to work with. We appreciate STRV’s flexibility and ability to understand the issues we’re facing quickly. We think we get a lot of value for what we pay; the experience of working with STRV has been very pleasant. Are there any areas they could improve? We’ve struggled a bit working with an iOS product, but that’s an industry-wide issue. We wish STRV had a bit more of an understanding how little iOS is being used in silicon industry and designed a small introductory "crash course" for Macintosh and iOS platform. That would have helped tremendously in our company-wide adoption of the STRV products as well as the general customer adaptation.Do you have any advice for potential customers? We’ve had a really good experience working with STRV, so we would recommend their services to anyone. Collaborating with software companies can be a little different, and the working hours can be odd, but you should just focus on the project. Focus on project management as well because you need to ensure that everyone is aligned. There can be a gap in understanding concepts between engineers, and you want to make sure that communication flows well.

"“They produce what we envision.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the chief educational officer of an edtech startup. We’re working to create an app that helps families manage their technology use with their children.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?We needed to develop an application. Our goal was to manage technology reduction and assist families by encouraging alternative activities within the family, especially for the youth.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?STRV has developed a mobile application for iOS and Android. We initially presented a brief and historical data. The team worked with us to create a comprehensive plan. What is the team composition? We’ve worked with people in various roles at different project phases. However, we’ve had about five primary contacts. What is the status of this engagement? We began our partnership in March 2023, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We haven’t completed or released the project to the public, but STRV’s timeline has been incredibly reasonable. Although we’ve had some challenges, STRV has ensured that everything is in order to move forward. How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint? They’ve been timely and prompt with setting and meeting goals. When we need to adjust things on our end, they’re flexible, gracious, and patient. The team has also worked within the budget. The project has evolved over time to include different layers, but they’re always clear about what the application should be. STRV allows us to understand the changes we want to make before we adjust things. Overall, the project has been smooth and straightforward. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Fran (Product Manager) has been incredibly patient. Sometimes we fail to follow up on important items, but he continually prompts and reminds us what he needs from us.What did you find most impressive about them? They produce what we envision. Are there any areas they could improve?I came on late to the project, but I know the founder had a different team working with STRV at some point. Some of his original vision for the project was overlooked, but when he sat down and clarified what he wanted to the current team, they incorporated what we needed. I don’t know if that’s an area of improvement for them or a communication issue on our end.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Communicate clearly upfront and clarify your vision. Make sure that everyone is on the same page.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What specific goals or objectives did you hire STRV to accomplish?Build a mobile app

**SOLUTION**
How did you find STRV?Clutch SiteWhy did you select STRV over others?High ratingsGreat culture fitHow many teammates from STRV were assigned to this project?6-10 EmployeesDescribe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.First STRV managed the production of an initial design and Figma prototype. They subcontracted the design work, but I was very happy with the work of the subcontractor, so I don't consider this a negative. This lasted about 2 months. I was impressed with how quickly STRV's product manager grasped the concept of our app, and I was also impressed with the intelligent recommendations he gave to improve the idea. Next, STRV built a minimum viable product, which took about 3-4 months. We released it to a small group of beta testers and refined the idea from there. This was a product without a paywall that contained the core features of the app. STRV's developers did a good job handling the tricky parts of working with Apple and Google's app store submissions while making sure our company was still the full owner of the app. Next we launched the app publicly, after about 11 months of work and beta testing. The app was very well-received by our customers, and reached #33 on the Apple's app store charts overall, and #1 in the Reference category. Hundreds of thousands of people downloaded the app and we experienced no significant issues. The backend and frontend worked beautifully and customers were very impressed with how polished the app was at release. After about two more months, we introduced a paywall and started collecting money. STRV is still helping us build features. We're been partnered together for about a year and a half at this point. The app will probably be finished after two full years, and we plan to retain STRV to maintain the app after that.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? The app has over 30,000 five star ratings right now, and our customers have repeatedly told us how much they love and are impressed by the app. Our subscriptions are consistently growing. We have very few bugs or issues that need urgent attention.Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs? The product management has been excellent. Lucas understood our product very quickly, and was able to communicate our expectations to the rest of the team clearly. Not only did he understand the product we wanted to build, he is able to regularly provide intelligent suggestions to improve the product. I feel like we couldn't have a better product manager even if we hired someone ourselves. When Lucas was on vacation, STRV made sure we had another product manager to fill in so no work was lost, and I felt that product manager was excellent as well. I am always aware of when features will release, the app released on the date we agreed on, and important deadlines that I set are respected. What was your primary form of communication with STRV?Virtual MeetingEmail or Messaging AppWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company?I'm impressed by how quickly they understood the concept and how valuable their suggestions have been. I know a lot of companies claim to do this, but with STRV I really do feel that they're part of our in-house team. I also found it impressive how STRV is able to flexibly replace or add team members as the project requires without delaying or negatively impacting the project. Are there any areas for improvement or something STRV could have done differently?I'm not convinced STRV always needs the amount of people they have included in our SOWs, but instead of pulling those people off the project to save us money, STRV finds work on the project for them. This isn't the end of the world, because the work is always good, but it makes me struggle to believe that STRV is taking opportunities to keep the project affordable for us. Specifically, once we had a designer on the team who didn't have work to do at that time in the project. Although technically this should mean we don't pay him, he was assigned work that really didn't need to be done. When I asked if he was really needed, they said "yes of course", but when i really made an issue of it, they took him out of the next SOW and guess what, we didn't need him for months. This was an unfortunate incident that made me wonder about the need for roles that I know less about, like backend or frontend engineers.

**Feedback Summary**: The client is happy with STRV’s work. The team is highly creative when it comes to resolving issues. They’re solution-oriented and collaborative, allowing them to help the client meet their goals. Moreover, they’re transparent in terms of timelines and budgets and flexible in meeting stakeholders.
"“Their collaborative and problem-solving skills are excellent.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the senior director of digital marketing and technology for Barry’s. We’re a boutique fitness company with 85 locations across the globe. Our development partners help bring this gym experience to life for our clients. We utilize B2B technology to make this happen and integrate all of our systems together.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?We hired STRV to be our development partner.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?STRV does custom development for us, including backend, frontend, web, iOS, and Android development — they do it all. When we have a new piece of work, our teams discuss what we’re trying to accomplish and talk about high-level requirements. I work with their product management team to scope out and estimate the work. Then, they present their proposals back to us. We agree on a solution and SOW and start the project from there. We’ve done everything with STRV. They’ve built our entire digital fitness app, our backend admin and CMS, the frontend consumer-facing web app, and our mobile apps. They’ve built these front scratch on top of our booking management system. However, they’ve also inherited platforms and helped us maintain and improve them. They’ve built a few different middleware for us as well. Where the project requires it, we work closely with their product design team to make designs come to life. For instance, we’re currently doing a key feature change, and we’re working with their design and product teams to make it happen. We’ll send the project to the engineering team afterward. What is the team composition? The team composition depends on the scope of work. It depends on our timelines, budget, and what is the right team size for a particular project. My primary account contacts are Tyna (Senior Product Manager) and Ligia (Director of Client Services). How did you come to work with STRV?Our company’s relationship with STRV predates my joining the company. I didn’t make the decision to hire them, but we decided to continue using them as our primary development partner. How much have you invested with them? We’ve invested over $1 million. What is the status of this engagement? We started the partnership in April 2022, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We haven’t had any technical issues with STRV. One example of their resilience is when one of our partners accidentally deleted our entire staging instance a week before the launch of a new feature. This could have derailed the entire project, but Tyna came up with a creative solution and found a way to test and release the feature on time. In other words, they’re highly collaborative even if the issue doesn’t come from their side. They don’t worry about where it comes from — they simply stay solution-oriented around us and aim to hit our business goals rather than letting issues cause more issues. Overall, the quality of their work is excellent. They have clear queries and documentation, and their members are willing to take critiques and feedback. They iterate consistently to ensure the quality of their outputs is beyond the standard. How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?STRV has been highly transparent in terms of deadlines and budgets. We’ve been paying attention to that, and they’re highly collaborative in that sense. We’ve had some tight deadlines, but they’re honest with us about what’s realistic and what’s not. We collaborate to find the best ways to meet our needs in the most effective manner. Tyna and Ligia are truly collaborative partners in the way they deliver solutions that meet our needs. We’re grateful that Tyna is available as a knowledge resource for us since she knows so much about our ecosystem. For tools, we mainly communicate through Slack. They do use Jira to manage projects, but we aren’t as involved in Jira on a daily basis. They’re also great at putting together ways to best articulate our goals whenever we need to communicate with business stakeholders. What did you find most impressive about them?Their collaborative and problem-solving skills are excellent when compared to other providers I’ve worked with, so I highly recommend them. Moreover, they’re highly flexible in terms of scheduling and meeting with our partners. Their resources are willing to work across time zones to meet necessary parties. Are there any areas they could improve? No, there aren’t any. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Treat STRV as a partner and work on solutions together. Be clear about your objectives and collaborate with them to figure out the best technical solutions to meet those needs.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?STRV was responsible for working on a specific feature set within a product. We had 2–3 calls with STRV to determine our needs. Their team helped us with specific parts of delivering the robot and worked side by side with our team. We worked with engineers who were experienced with data, analysis, and visualization and were interested in Web3. The engineers worked on the frontend of the solution. What is the team composition? We worked with two engineers from STRV. How did you come to work with STRV?We’d heard about them previously and had been impressed with their work. They were also referred to us, and at that point, we decided to move forward. What is the status of this engagement? We worked together between February–May 2023.

We now have more than 250 users since launching three weeks ago. How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint? The engineers and product and project managers joined our weekly sprints and daily meetings; STRV worked as a part of our team. The team worked remotely for the most part, but we met in person a few times. STRV stayed on budget and within deadlines. We used Linear for project management and Slack, email, and Around for communication. What did you find most impressive about them?Their ease of integration was incredibly smooth, and they got up to speed quickly. STRV had strong communication skills, and they collaborated effectively. The team was professional and kept our needs in mind throughout the engagement. We were impressed with their ability to put together a team that was passionate about our project and the level of experience they brought to the engagement. Are there any areas they could improve? There’s nothing we can come up with. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Clearly scope the project and communicate your expectations because that will make the whole process easier.

**Feedback Summary**: The client has been satisfied with STRV’s high-quality work and excellent performance. The marketing website is currently functioning well, and the referral program will soon help attract new clients. Moreover, the team delivers on time and communicates well through Slack and email.
"“They’re not the cheapest option, but their work is high-quality and significantly better.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chief people officer for a consumer sports stock market. We’re a licensed gambling product in New Jersey, but people can download the app throughout the US.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed someone to build our marketing tools from the ground up for our website and application.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we tried STRV for a month to see if they were able to build a piece of marketing tech stack. Then, we expanded the engagement and kept their team to build the rest of the marketing tools, such as referral programs and marketing promotions. Our team has provided specific design parameters, but STRV builds the code and tech stack from scratch. We’ve allowed them to determine the best way to build the tools we want, and they’ve used Go, Swift, and Kotlin.

STRV continues to build additional marketing tools. Every time we come up with a new idea, promotion, or referral program, they develop it. They’re currently in the process of building our referral program.

What is the team composition?

They operate as a squad; we’ve worked with about six people. The squad includes a product manager, a backend engineer, an iOS frontend engineer, and a QA engineer. We recently added an Android engineer.

How did you come to work with STRV?

A fellow entrepreneur used them to build out his consumer app. When we said we needed to find good engineers at an affordable rate, he recommended STRV. He introduced us to the founder, and we enjoyed our conversation with him, so we signed up. The founder mentioned that they also worked in squads, so it was clear that they’d be a good fit. We liked that they took the same approach as us, so there wouldn’t be disruptions in the workflow.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent $250,000. We expect to spend another $100,000 between now and the end of January.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2022, and our relationship is ongoing. We expect the project to run through the end of January 2023.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our company started from scratch, so the outcome is the marketing website that we’re currently using. When we launch the referral program, we hope to see an uptick in the number of new users and deposits on our site.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They always complete the work on time, and we communicate well via Slack and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Overseas companies are often more affordable, but the quality of the engineering work is significantly less. However, STRV has struck a nice balance; they’re not the cheapest option, but their work is high-quality and significantly better.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only painpoint has been their work hours; we’d like more flexibility with their work schedule. Since we have engineers on the East Coast and the West Coast in the US, there’s only a two-three hour window where everybody works simultaneously which isn't the most efficient way to work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We’ve had to be a bit more directive than anticipated, but it’s probably because they work with clients who aren’t as empowering as we are. We’d be okay with what they do as long as they stay with our guardrails.  We want them to tell us how best to build the product vs. wait for us to give instructions on every single step.

"''STRV leads a straightforward process and is a quality partner with strong engineers.''"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an engineer at an educational technology company. We connect teachers, partners, and students to communicate with each other.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed to increase our mobile engineering capacities.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve been working with STRV to augment our developing resources. To jumpstart every sprint, we tell them how we work and our expectations, and they start working independently but also contribute to the overall codebase improvements. For our most recent project, STRV has been helping us upgrade our messaging system on the iOS front, which involves updating the data model, implementing the UI, ensuring performance, and adding collateral features like reactions and scheduled messages.

Regarding tools and technologies, their team has used Swift, SwiftUI, and Core Data.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with Martin (CTO) and their engineering and project management teams throughout the partnership.

How did you come to work with STRV?

Someone referred them to us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2015, and the engagement is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to their work on developing core features, our app has been around the top 10 most downloaded apps in August and September, contributing to our app’s revenue and putting us in the top 20 paid subscriptions on the iOS App Store as well.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

Martin has been great in delivering our requests within deadlines and budgets, giving input, and providing helpful feedback. Regarding communication, we use Zoom, email, and in-person meetings — they’re very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their high-quality engineering team is their best attribute; they’re responsive, flexible to our education season schedule, and easy to work with. In addition, STRV also responds to our requests to change the engineering resources they provide.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — STRV leads a straightforward process and is a quality partner with strong engineers.

**Feedback Summary**: The company is happy with STRV’s work, which has helped bring the firm’s vision to life. The team delivers tasks on time and within budget, promptly communicating issues via Zoom, emails, and calls. They provide fantastic guidance to the client as they work on developing a high-quality website.
"“We’ve had such a great experience with them and never had any hiccups or misunderstandings.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the asset manager for a private fund that invests in various assets.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

My responsibilities include project management of any assets we’re working on, one of which involves STRV. I work with them on web design and development for one of our projects.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve been working with STRV on creating a website and its backend. The team has done all engineering and advising for the website. For documentation, we’ve provided them with legal documents necessary for the site, such as the site’s terms and conditions and privacy policy. Our team has also shared with them some ideas of what we want to do.

In terms of features, the site is similar to LinkedIn. Users can create profiles for their careers, specifically in the entertainment business — we’re focusing on women's representation in film and television media in Hollywood.

Moreover, users can create profiles as someone providing film services or as a hiring manager. The idea behind it is to create a one-stop portal for people in the industry — specifically women and those who identify as women — to find jobs that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with two teams from STRV. Each team consists of five people. I mainly communicate with the project manager of each team. The other members are engineers and QA specialists.

How did you come to work with STRV?

I wasn’t the one who contacted STRV; my higher-ups did that, so I didn’t know who referred them to the team.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2021, and the engagement is ongoing. We’ve started the project from scratch, but we’re almost done now. We’re only wrapping up a couple of loose ends.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

STRV’s work has helped bring our vision to life. This is a dear project to us as we work in the entertainment industry, and we hope to bring change to the hiring process of women and those who represent women in the industry.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

The team has delivered everything on time and within our budget. When delays happen, the STRV resources are fantastic at communicating those things to us and helping us sort everything out. To communicate, we use emails; we connect through Zoom or our personal dialers and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

STRV provides great support in guiding us through the process. We’ve never created a website before, so we had no idea about the field. Their team provides robust explanations of how everything works, what’s the process like, and how long things will take. Whenever we can’t understand something, they always explain things to us well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. We’ve had such a great experience with them and never had any hiccups or misunderstandings. If we’re not on the same page, it’s quickly cleared up. Whenever there’s any miscommunication, it’s simply because we don’t know what we’re doing, and we rely on them to tell us how to complete our project — they’re great at it.

**Feedback Summary**: The client was highly pleased with the quality of the final design, which is currently in implementation. STRV's resources were skilled designers that also took the initiative to research the client's industry, competition, and related projects, incorporating their best findings into the product.
""They were able to take the best parts of everything and combine them into nice designs for us." "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We provide blockchain services to B2B clients and are building a cryptocurrency exchange for B2C clients. We also have some cryptocurrency mining operations that help companies invest. I’m the chief product officer.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

They provided me with design services.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We described our challenges, and they came up with possible solutions. Brainstorming took place with both us and the designer, but we didn’t have any specific requirements. We had some preferred colors, but we were rebranding as well, so we were basically starting from scratch. It was more of a collaboration on the creative part, and they executed on the design.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one designer and one project manager.

How did you come to work with STRV?

Their reputation preceded them. I knew about them in general and that they were successful in providing services to clients like design and development. I was hoping that they would provide high-quality service.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July 2021–April 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still working on implementation, so we don’t have any metrics yet, but the general feedback has been that it was a great cooperation with STRV. They were very professional and got straight to the point. There was no time wasted on meaningless tasks, and the designer we were working with was very talented and knowledgeable about our industry. We didn’t have to educate him, as he was doing his own research very thoroughly. They handed over the files in great condition. We were 100% satisfied.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

This is difficult for me to say, as we introduced a number of changes; there wasn’t a set timeline. Their initial estimate was correct, however, and they built a campaign around it.

Our communication was over Slack and Figma. We didn’t use any sort of management tool like Jira because my team was very hands-on. They were as well. We already knew who was working on what.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really appreciated the research that they did themselves, including looking at the competition and comparable projects, as well as our product from the user perspective. They were able to take the best parts of everything and combine them into nice designs for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At some point, they could have been stricter with us. STRV was very polite about everything, but there were some points when the developer could have let us know that an idea wasn’t going to be profitable. This may not be applicable to other clients, and it could just be a personal preference.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Prepare what you want to achieve and don’t try to micromanage them.

**Feedback Summary**: The client was happy with STRV’s work. Organized and communicative, the team had outstanding project management that helped shape the client’s processes, binging in best practices regarding sprints and burndown rate. Their talented team and people-smart approach were key to the project’s success.
"“STRV was more of a strategic partner for us than just a contractor.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the digital product and technology leader at Philz Coffee.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We have an in-store pickup app written in React Native and a display app for our mobile orders in-store written in Swift for iOS. We had a Swift engineer on our staff but needed to scale our team with another developer who could carry over the app’s maintenance and iOS product enhancements.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV helped scale our Swift development team and provided maintenance for our display app. Our customer-facing app depends on our display app, and the team helped us stabilize and ensure the quality of our mobile display unit. Additionally, they helped drive the development of innovative products and then maintained in-production support. When it came to new product lines, we worked with their product team and then passed work over to the development team.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the CEO and an account representative. At a certain point, we had two iOS engineers and one QA specialist. My main point of contact was an account engineer.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We had gone through a couple of different engineer shops, and we were vetting a provider because the quality of some of their engineers' work wasn’t great. Then, STRV came to us through our CEO’s contacts at LinkedIn because they worked on the LinkedIn app. When we met them, we vetted them with the same scores we used of all third-party engineers, and they were great on multiple scales; they were easy to work with and very personable.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent over $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2019–March 2022. We had to scale back our teams as we continued to focus on and redefine our product offerings, so we ended the contract with STRV due to internal budgets and realignments.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our customer-facing app depends on our display app; if the display app doesn’t work for the employee, the in-store pickup app doesn’t work for the customer. The quality of STRV’s engineering team was reflected in how they supported our mobile display unit, ensuring the success of our customer-facing app. STRV was more of a strategic partner for us than just a contractor. They helped support our development shop in ways that I would never have expected and weren’t even part of their scope.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They were amazing, great communicators, and incredibly organized. In fact, they brought some centers of excellence and best-in-class performance to us. We had a very small engineering team when we started, and they helped us build practices and processes to ensure everyone stayed on track. STRV had more engineers than us, and they brought over best practices that we worked together to implement. They had a big part in helping us mature our internal development process in terms of sprints, working with Jira, and burndown rate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with the quality of the people in STRV’s team. Every person I worked with brought a level of humility and was incredibly smart, and they were also friendly. One of their engineers became like family to us; he was as much a part of our team as our full-time engineers.

When faced with a challenge, the team was very solution-oriented and collaborative. Working with STRV didn't feel transactional, which was a big part of their success and had a lot to do with what the CEO brought to the table. They weren't just competent at their skills — they were also people-smart. STRV was dependable, and I’ll take them wherever I go.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some of the design challenges could have been done a bit better. However, that was more of our problem than theirs. In terms of improvements, STRV could have driven more strategy in the process and worked through the pros and cons of something before diving into the development of the solution itself.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is that they know a lot more than you do. Sometimes as a business owner, you feel like you know everything, but STRV will get to know your business well — they’re incredibly smart. They have an excellent shop with mature processes; they write statements of work, follow up, and make sure to negotiate on price. I’ve worked with many contractors in my career, and STRV is one of the best ones I’ve partnered with.

VP of New Product Strategy, Fintech Company
- Industry: Business services

- Client size: 51-200 Employees

**The Review** — Apr 21, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: STRV has successfully built the MVP on time and as specified, meeting expectations. They foster a healthy partnership through a communicative, responsive, and collaborative approach. Their ability to understand and implement the client’s requirements is impressive.
""All timelines and deliverables have been achieved according to plan.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the VP of New Product Strategy for a high growth, venture backed fintech company specializing in providing digital products for small businesses in the US.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire STRV, and what were your goals?

I was brought on to rapidly innovate with new products for our business customers. Having worked in the past with STRV, I knew that they were the right company to partner with. My needs were a full-service design and development engagement for a banking web app. They didn't have to start from scratch but it was pretty close.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was previously a founder of a fintech startup and utilized STRV for their design and development services of a website for my company. Having had a delightful experience working with them in the past, I knew that I wanted to give them a crack at this new project which was much more complex. I put the bid out to a few different vendors but in the end, owing to their excellent track record, I ended up selecting STRV.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We started with a sales and project engagement laying out the desired outcomes and goals. STRV assigned an excellent project manager to coordinate between myself and their team.

We settled on using NodeJS as a backend language because of the third party APIs were were integrating with (they had a NodeJS SDK). We also went with react for frontend work since my company already had a react environment. We moved into the design phase using Figma to go back and forth on mapping out the user stories to UI/UX work.

Eventually we moved to coding and pushing to staging/production environments (Kubernetes, Gitlab, AWS). Third party APIs used were: Auth0 for authentication, Unit for Banking as a Service and Plaid for bank account aggregation. Finally we set up the customer data platform using Tealium, Heap for Analytics, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud for transactional/marketing emails.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

1 salesperson
	1 project manager
	1 UI/UX designer
	2 backend developers
	2 frontend developers
	1 QA engineer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

STRV hit all of their milestones including the desired delivery date for the MVP. We were able to execute a phased approach so that we could conduct the necessary compliance and information security deliverables while continuing to iterate on product features. All expectations for product functionality have been met thus far and we signed a contract extension to continue working with them for ongoing maintenance and feature iteration.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We had regular weekly check-ins with project and design in the beginning and were able to communicate asynchronously using Slack. Initial product requirements were provided in Jira and we also used Google Cloud products to continue the interaction (Hangouts, Docs, Mail, etc.). As my company was able to eventually bring on our own UX designer, STRV was able to quickly iterate on our enhancements without causing unnecessary delays in the overall project timeline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Most impressive was how quickly the project manager came up to speed on the project; especially the complexity with deploying a highly regulated product in a banking service and the subsequent information security components. He quickly went from project manager to thought partner when it came to scoping out additional features including investigating additional solutions / APIs for product iteration. Also impressive is how quickly their developers work and while the time zone difference was 9 hours, you really couldn't tell based on their ability to work and communicate no matter the time.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can't think of anything else at the moment. We will look to evolve some of the visibility into sprint planning but that was purely a choice given the bandwidth constraints on our side.

**Feedback Summary**: Although the app isn’t ready yet, STRV has successfully provided support and helped build features that advance the project. Moreover, they’ve been solid and well-organized partners — the team is productive, collaborative, and experienced in their field. They use Jira, GitHub, and Slack as tools.
""They have outstanding technical expertise on iOS and Android and are really collaborative, strong partners.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder & CEO of a consumer internet startup. We currently have nine full-time employees.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We were prototyping a consumer internet application to see if it could become a company.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We brought STRV on to build the prototype. Then, we expanded the team's size to continue building features and developing the application.

At one point, we were building web, iOS, and Android versions, but we narrowed our focus to iOS. We use a mixture of software languages, including Swift for backend, Node.js, and Render for infrastructure. For the admin tool and frontend, we use the React admin library.

What is the team composition?

Throughout the project, we’ve probably worked with 20 people. At one point, we were working with around 12. Now, we’re primarily working with three. As we proved the concept for the company with a survey, we’ve built our in-house team, which we discussed with them from the beginning.

How did you come to work with STRV?

My co-founder found them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $2 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019, and our relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our goal is to iterate on features until we have a working application to accommodate thousands of daily active users. Although we’re not there yet, STRV has helped us build the app. Also, we’ve worked on developing a process where we can quickly experiment and learn more from our inaugural user base and the agile development culture we’ve built.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been solid in their project management. We always develop accurate forecasts, and they’ve partnered well with us. As we built our team, the partnership was healthy, productive, bilateral, and honest. Overall, it’s been a good performance.

We have multiple meetings per week, and a lot of time, we communicate on Slack. We used Jira and GitHub initially, but we’ve moved from Jira to Notion.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re good at designing and engineering the product, which is rare. They have outstanding technical expertise on iOS and Android and are really collaborative, strong partners, particularly for building a consumer app. Overall, it’s hard to find a group that’s good at all of that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think there’s an opportunity for them to shuffle team members less.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The optimal team size is around 4–6 people when you're starting. At one point, we had six team members, but we revved it up to 10, and it was too big. In fact, STRV warned us that adding engineers doesn’t always increase velocity.

Also, having an internal product manager to pair with their project manager can help. It depends a bit on if you’re trying to build a hybrid engineering team, but I think it’s rare to be able to recruit and outsource developers, and they’ve been successful at that. They’ve stayed up and sat down as we’ve built our team.

"“What we’ve found most impressive about STRV is their thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and communication.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CEO of Sound Off Media Inc., a social media platform company based out of Morgan Hill, California.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed help with mobile app development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We started off working on the design phase of the project, going through everything from user flows and wireframes all the way to the final design, including colors and font selection. These deliverables were sent in a series of Figma files.

After that, there was a handoff between the designer and their mobile app development team that was in charge of native iOS implementation. They developed it using Swift and then deployed it into TestFlight.

Generally, the mobile app is similar to Twitter. It has features where you can create your user profile, upload your profile photo, connect to other users, and follow them. You can also post your own content on the platform, including pictures and text. At the same time, you can react to other people’s posts by sending an emoji as a response. At a very broad level, those are the main features that their team implemented.

STRV also built a landing page for our company along with a feature to publish blog entries. They used a different technology stack between Vercel and Sanity for the frontend deployment. They also did the design, which was mostly just graphics. We collaborated on the copy of the text and fed in images from the Figma files. We used those as visuals for the website.

What is the team composition?

We work with about nine people from their team, including a designer, project manager, three iOS developers, two QA specialists, and two other people that work on the frontend of the landing page.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We were searching for mobile app development companies online and eventually found them on Clutch. After reading some of their reviews, we quickly reached out to them.

How much have you invested in them?

So far, we’ve spent around $275,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in December 2020. Our engagement is on pause right now, but we’ll begin again once we’ve secured more funding.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app has yet to be launched, but the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive — well-designed, responsive, and bug-free. Overall, we’re extremely satisfied with STRV’s services, and they’ve definitely exceeded our expectations.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done well in executing quite a complicated project. Although they’ve missed some deadlines, the work that they’ve done is just simply amazing; I wouldn’t take any points away from them in this regard.

Furthermore, their communication has been stellar. People are always reaching out to make sure that we’re satisfied and understand each phase of the project, including costs. It’s been a really greeting experience working with their team.

We use Slack to communicate and hold bi-weekly Zoom meetings with their team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What we’ve found most impressive about STRV is their thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and communication. They have a more accurate sense of the work, and they didn’t try to give me an unrealistic offer just to get me on board.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I really can’t think of anything that they need to improve on. Most of the things that didn’t go as planned were all because of me.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to fully utilize all of their services, especially during the discovery phase of the project. You can leverage them by conducting customers interviews and other things of that nature to make the most out of the engagement.

**The Review** — Dec 16, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Crucial to delivering a curated news source during natural disasters, the interface that STRV produced has been a hit. It gives producers much-needed flexibility, pleasing internal stakeholders. Solid communication, combined with rapid onboarding and ramp-up speeds have earned STRV future work.
""STRV has driven a higher click-through rate via notifications, longer watch sessions, and increased shares from users." "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a product manager at a startup technology company called Citizen. Our product offering is an app that sends users alerts about crime, safety, and other issues going on in the community. Users can take live videos to share what’s going on around them.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

Our in-house engineer designed a basic version of the solution that features summarized details of incidents and un-curated video from other users. We wanted to create a more tailored, polished experience with live hosts who produce a curated news experience. STRV provided a contract engineer to develop a web interface that allows our hosts to pull in specific pieces of media, from user videos to interactive maps and more.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our news anchors have a large amount of media that they can pull into the live broadcasts, and Michael (Engineer) developed the web interface that allows them to choose and integrate the specific pieces they want.

User videos are one type of content that our producers have access to, but our producers also utilize an interactive map. This map can be augmented by highlights drawn by our hosts live on-air, as well as spun around and physically manipulated to show users critical information like possible escape routes. In summary, this software allows our producers to compile everything needed to put together informative live broadcasts.

Because it is an internal tool, STRV didn’t do much design work. Their engineer laid out the buttons and knobs and dials of the interface with some input from us, but we didn’t care too much about it. The solution just had to be functional.

We finished work on this platform last month and moved Michael, plus one more resource, onto another project. We’re continuing to work with STRV.

What is the team composition?

Michael is our main point of contact, and we’ve also had a sales contact.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We were looking to work with someone to provide extra web development, and I knew some of their service employees personally. STRV’s team has a good industry reputation.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent just under $150,000 with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked together since April 2021. The solution launched two months later in June, and we made ongoing improvements to it until about November 2021. We’re now working with them on another web-based solution.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The producers who create these live broadcasts are very pleased with the platform because it gives them much-needed flexibility to bring in a lot of interesting video- and map-based content, including graphics.

Regarding metrics, our new, complex, tailored solution from STRV has driven a higher click-through rate via notifications, longer watch sessions, and increased shares from users compared to our basic, in-house solution.

While our high hopes weren’t exactly met in terms of metrics, STRV delivered exactly what we asked them to, and we’re 100% satisfied. The solution is a very solid improvement to our existing product.

Michael himself met and exceeded our expectations, especially in his ability to refactor code into a stable state.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

We did all the project management on our side. I helped Michael, who was acting as a contract engineer, prioritize his work and manage week-to-week and day-to-day operations. All that being said, Michael’s velocity definitely satisfied us.

We spoke over regular Zoom calls, which happened daily during the first week, and then they moved to twice a week, and finally slowed to once a week when we got into a groove. Some of our producers would occasionally join to help us prioritize features to be developed. We also leveraged Slack to answer questions and preview work outside of these calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Personally, I haven’t used any other contract engineering firms; normally I work with in-house resources. Despite that, I will say that Michael is very easy to work with. He hit the ground running with the skills we needed. The onboarding was very fast.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing jumps to mind right now.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend STRV for engineering. They joined our team easily and worked well with us. STRV often tries to include project management and design services, but we didn’t require those offerings. They worked well as a contract engineering firm.

The team remained responsive and adaptable, fostering an agreeable work environment.
""Their availability and collaborative nature spoke volumes about their professionalism as a team."

 "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a project manager at AnywhereWorks. We provide tools and services to help people work anywhere.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed their development expertise.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV built an onboarding flow application that aimed to streamline our chat support and improve our customer experience. The app had customizable chat widgets that our customers could easily access to help them navigate our processes in three simple steps.

Prior to the development stage, we had a scoping and brainstorming phase, wherein we relayed our requirements and provided the necessary documentation to their team. They then conducted thorough research to flesh out more solutions and design ideas.

During the design phase, STRV presented iterations and wireframes to get our approval. They then kicked off the development phase and handed the final version to us for product testings.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people from their team, including a project manager, a designer, and a developer.

How did you come to work with STRV?

I found STRV online while searching for experienced design agencies. We then met with them a couple of times to discuss the project, and they came up with a proposal. We were impressed with their initial ideas, so we decided to onboard them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from January–May 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

STRV delivered a cost-efficient app that met our particular requirements and impressed our customers — they particularly liked its modern and functional design. Our user installation rate nearly doubled since we launched the onboarding flow, and we also acquired clients through the app. Overall, we were happy with the results we received because of their team’s development efforts.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They were on top of the project management game — STRV was always willing to collaborate with our team and adapted well to our processes. We could rely on them to respond to our requests and attend our meetings with helpful ideas.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were most impressed with their impeccable project management skills and commitment to meeting our needs, deadlines, and expectations. Their availability and collaborative nature spoke volumes about their professionalism as a team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

STRV was an effective team that helped us meet our goals, but we would’ve benefited from refined communication skills. The design flow wasn’t relayed well to our team, and we needed a bit more elaboration on that — however, we both managed to resolve this matter towards the end.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t hesitate to hire STRV and try their services. They’re an adaptable team with a thorough process — you only need to communicate with them as often as you can to make the most of your engagement.

**The Review** — Jun 4, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The website built by STRV has a great amount of engagement thanks to the quality of their work, gaining a high number of visitors since launch. The team was very well organized, and they stayed on time and budget despite some changes. Clients can expect a polite, responsive, and dedicated partner.
"“STRV’s team was incredibly nice and great to work with.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work at Wilson Sonsini, the leading law firm representing venture-backed companies. I’m the Marketing Manager for their Emerging Companies Practice.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We wanted to build a robust website to provide valuable resources to the early-stage startup ecosystem.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided STRV with the idea of what we were hoping to build, including the outline of the different pages, elements for each page, and some of the branding guidelines. We then worked closely with STRV on the rest.

They started with the design, helped determine the structure, and did the full development. They did all the engineering, QA, and everything else necessary to complete the site up until the launch.

They used DatoCMS as our CMS. I had never used it before, but it's terrific and was a great choice. It also had built-in SEO elements that STRV helped set up. They used Vercel for hosting the site and Figma for design.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one project manager, who was there throughout the entire process, overseeing everything and making sure we were on time and budget. We also worked with a key designer, two developers, and a QA person.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We interviewed a lot of web development firms and found a lot of great companies, but we were very impressed by STRV and their team, so we chose them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in the second week of November 2020 and finished the project by the end of March 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The product that STRV helped us develop spoke for itself. Since launching recently, we’ve already had thousands of visitors to the site and terrific engagement rates.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

STRV’s project management was amazing — they were very well organized. We had weekly or twice-a-week calls where the project manager went over the plan and the goals. We had a few team member changes over the project, and all the transitions were very smooth.

When STRV came in, I was very specific about how we couldn’t go beyond the scope. I told them the amount of money we had, and the date we needed to get this project done — they nailed those goals. We didn’t spend a dollar more than what we wanted.

STRV was really helpful with sticking to the scope, even when we were asking for more. They were able to figure out how to make things work within the budget and deadline. Apart from the calls, we communicated via Slack and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

STRV’s team was incredibly nice and great to work with. They were extremely polite and dedicated to the project, answering messages at all hours — they went above and beyond.

Even after the project ended, they’re still answering my questions and being very gracious about it — that’s the best part.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Genuinely, there’s nothing STRV could improve on. The process was very smooth, and the product was great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very well organized and have a clear vision of what you want from the start. It’s something pretty tricky to do, but take the time to have that vision and scope really clear.

**The Review** — Jun 1, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The app hit all the marks when it was tested out on a beta group before its release. Internal stakeholders are pleased with STRV’s excellent delivery and timeliness. The team stands out for their communication; they’ve helped out the client to understand the tech side of the project in simple terms.
""They really understood the vision and goals we were trying to attain."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of a health and wellness platform called Still Life. We’re focused on providing inspiration, support, and general wellness content for anyone who’s trying to succeed at work, play, or life. Specifically, we have a meditation app and a facility for off-sites and community events in Los Angeles, California.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We didn’t have a CTO or any engineers on our founding team. After COVID-19, we accelerated our desire to get our platform into the hands of everyone at any time or place. Therefore, we hired STRV to be our arm of engineering and technology.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV built an app that’s both on Google Play Store and Apple Store. They didn’t do our website, but they helped a lot with the design and worked on the front- and backend, using data and AWS.

Also, they built us an administrative dashboard for us to control any issues outside of what Apple or Google Store may offer to developers.

What is the team composition?

We worked full-time with two backend engineers and a frontend engineer. Around half percent of the time, we also worked with a project manager and a QA tester, and when we needed it, we worked with a designer on their side.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We used Clutch as the main source to find them. In the beginning, we called about five different companies, but STRV really stood out. I did a call with someone more on the business development side and I met Lubo (Co-Founder & CEO). I really liked him and got along well with him.

Overall, it was a matter of relationship and personal development. They understood our vision, what we wanted to do, and how we were going to differentiate from the ocean of meditation apps right now.

How much have you invested with them?

I assume that by August we’ll have spent close to $450,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project kicked off in December 2020, and we’re continuing our partnership for the foreseeable future.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In general, we’re deadline-oriented, so we’ve focused on deliverables and timelines. All of the specific milestones were achieved, and we had frequent check-ins to track everything they did.

We had a beta test group before the public release, and we had various internal metrics to rate that success. They hit all of them, and all were correlated to the overall technology development. We’ve been really happy with the general feedback from that.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

For project management, we use Slack, emails, and Google Drive. We talk pretty much every day, and we have a weekly call with all the team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really understood the vision and goals we were trying to attain, and then they were able to take that information and put it into a successful app.

Also, their communication has been one of their greatest strengths. I’m not a tech-savvy person, and having the project management side explained to me in layman’s terms was something that stood out to me. They made it clear from a tech perspective and helped me understand what it takes to actually develop and manage a software like this, and I’m really happy about that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t really have much to say about that point, they’ve been pretty solid.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be specific in what the end goal should look like, but be flexible throughout the creative process because you’ll learn so much — especially if you don’t have a CTO or an internal engineering team. The end product may be different than what you may have imagined, so you have to work back and forth in a cohesive way and be open to taking advice and feedback.

E-Commerce Director, Ben Soleimani
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — May 26, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to STRV’s efforts, the client has seen a 98% increase in their conversion rate and 50% in transactions, as well as a 25% increase in the site loading speed and a 27% decrease in the bounce rate. The team is reliable, experienced, trustworthy, and communicative, and the client is satisfied.
"“They bring high-level expertise to the table, and they’re always available.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Ben Soleimani is a luxury home brand. We sell luxury handmade rugs and other products like furniture, décor pieces, and upholstery. I’m the e-commerce director of the company, so I manage our website, e-commerce, and other digital efforts and internal marketing initiatives.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

When I started working for the company, we needed to ramp up our efforts to improve the overall UI/UX design and functionality of our website.

The company started with just selling rugs, and our site was based on a Shopify template at the time, so we had a lot of way-arounds, custom solutions, and exceptions done to make the template work.

The website was running really slow; it would take 30–40 seconds just to load a product page. It was time to do a redesign and improve the overall experience, so I reached out to STRV.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV redid our whole website experience, from UI/UX design to the infrastructure itself. The redesign project took a month, during which they worked with our internal redesign team to create the look and feel, decide on fonts, and work on the overall layout.

We started with the development phase after that. STRV helped us fix and maintain the website we had at the time while we were working on the new one. We fixed the site as much as we could, and we worked on fully developing the new one after that.

Our new site has a headless architecture. We’re using Shopify only for order and inventory management, and we also use their checkout system, but the frontend is Maplify.

We have a lot of features on our wishlist, and we’re releasing them a bit at a time. For example, we’re working on a 3D AR piece, and we’re improving pages for specific product groups.

What is the team composition?

The team has adjusted depending on what we need. We started working with a project manager, a graphic designer, and a developer to maintain our old website. Then, we ramped up to three developers and added a QA tester when we started working on the new site.

We’ve scaled up and down after the launch, depending on the need. Right now, we have three developers, and we don’t need to have a project manager. I’m dealing directly with the development lead.

Apart from those people, we have contact with a salesperson and an account representative, who make sure everything is okay. We’ve also worked with Lubo (Co-Founder & CEO).

How did you come to work with STRV?

I’d worked with STRV at my previous company, and initially, they were referred to us. The scenario was similar: we had a website that we weren’t happy with, and we reached out to them. STRV was happy to jump on board and help out.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $290,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2020. We launched the new site in March 2021, and we’re working on enhancing it now.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project has been incredible overall. When we started working together, our conversion rate was very low at around 0.58%. Thanks to STRV’s efforts, it has gone up to 1.15% — that’s an increase of 98%. We’ve also had a 50% increase in transactions and a 28% increase in average order value.

In terms of pure website metrics and performance, we have a bounce rate decrease of 27% and the response time for pages load increased by 25%. Comparing the numbers from the beginning of our collaboration to the ones from the last 30 days, the work done by STRV is clearly reflected in our metrics.

Working with them is an absolute pleasure. They bring high-level expertise to the table, and they’re always available. Even though we’re in different time zones, they’re always there for whatever we need.

I'd never worked with a more reliable and experienced company — that’s why I reached out to them when I came to this position. I knew the quality of their work, and I trusted them.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

We manage the project in Jira — we can keep track of everything through it. If I need to address something in the middle of the night, I just go on Jira and put it in a queue.

We use Slack for quick communication. We have a channel with everyone in it, including the salesperson, the account representative, the developers, and even Lubo himself.

We communicate as needed. For example, we used to have weekly calls during the main development, and now, we have them every 2–3 weeks to touch base and see where we’re at.

What did you find most impressive about them?

STRV is very trustworthy. Most agencies out there will favor the most expensive solutions, the ones that are most profitable for them. However, I can trust STRV in this regard. We’ve always worked together to find the best solution at the best price — they’re part of our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

STRV allocates resources based on the project. If we need a developer for a short period, either because we have an urgency or want to launch a new feature, they may not have a resource available, and we’ll have to wait 3–4 weeks for it. It would be good for them to keep a couple of developers available to jump in if there’s any urgency.

However, we’ve had a lot of last-minute requests, and STRV has always found a way, either by having a developer work a few extra hours or another solution like that. There was just one instance when we had to wait three weeks to find an additional developer.

**The Review** — Feb 24, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: STRV delivered a platform that secured 990,000 downloads and 14,500 reviews, which translated to a nearly 5-star rating. After its delivery, the product generated 50% of sign-ups for services. The STRV team effectively collaborates with internal resources and provides valuable expertise.
""I’m impressed by how fast they’re able to complete tasks and the quality of their code."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I lead the engineering team at CampusLogic, which is an EdTech company. We built a product to help create transparency throughout the financial aid process for students.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We had a web app but didn’t have a mobile app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV developed an iOS app that mirrored our web app for high school students. The platform allows students to create profiles and follow colleges. On the app, students can also list accomplishments on their profiles to earn micro-scholarships from colleges.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two iOS developers during the first year of our engagement. We now only work with one developer from STRV.

How did you come to work with STRV?

I wasn’t part of the hiring process that brought STRV on board. Although I’m not sure how we found STRV, we tried to hire an in-house iOS developer but couldn’t find one. We then started searching for companies that we could contract. Ultimately, we chose STRV.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $500,000–$700,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them around February 2017, and it’s an ongoing engagement.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app has 990,000 downloads,14,500 reviews, and a 4.8 rating in the App Store. During its first six months in the store, 50% of our sign-ups came from the platform. Now, 20% of our sign-ups come from the app.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

STRV’s well integrated with our engineering team. We’re still working with a developer who comes to all of our meetings. They’re great at communicating and meeting deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their engineers have been at least as good as any in-house engineers I've worked with. When you contract a third-party company, you may not access high-quality resources. STRV has high-quality engineers. I’m impressed by how fast they’re able to complete tasks and the quality of their code.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve had rough contract negotiations. Their team has been inflexible with making changes to how many hours we need without losing access to them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat the resources STRV provides as members of your team. Fully integrate them into your team and communicate with them as often as you communicate with in-house engineers to support real-time information sharing.

**The Review** — Dec 11, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: STRV delivered an interactive product that generated positive feedback for its refinement and satisfied internal stakeholders’ high standards. Their unique ability to seamlessly collaborate with internal resources supports a lasting partnership. The team is attentive, knowledgeable, and trustworthy.
""I have a long history in the tech industry and know it’s rare to find an agency like STRV."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and co-founder of a software company that makes mobile apps.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed help with the development of our products.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV provides us with engineering services that help us develop our mobile apps. We currently work with them on two mobile, native apps for iOS and Android.

We started the project with specifications and used wireframes to help STRV understand what we wanted to build. We then worked with them to identify the right team to transform our ideas into products.

As it’s our wheelhouse, we mostly designed the products ourselves. However, we’ll work with them to iterate on the products’ designs depending on customer feedback.

STRV helps to build an interactive game, which is almost complete. Their team built the product’s architecture from the ground up. They’re making the code modular and creating interactive elements. For example, a user can move their phone and then the screen melts to an image behind it. Their team’s creating a lot of heavy animations for the game.

STRV is also building a native iOS app in the Swift language. Their team also uses Realm DB, MySQL, and Metal — a 3D animation framework. They engaged Elasticsearch for the backend too.

On the Android side, they started with Java. Their team’s now using WebSocket and Rest API architecture. They used Firebase for real-time database and push notification features. On the backend, their team engaged Node.JS, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Redis.

What is the team composition?

Three developers from STRV work on one project and two developers from their team work on the other project. We occasionally interact with a designer and frequently interact with their project managers. There’s heavy communication between us and their engineers. We also have a main contact and connect with Lubo (CEO) a lot.

How did you come to work with STRV?

When I was with another company, we engaged STRV to build an Apple TV app and a web app. That’s how I came to know and like them.

How much have you invested in them?

In total, we’ve spent about $2.5 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2017, and it’s an ongoing engagement.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Although we haven’t publicly released the interactive game, it has received amazing feedback for its level of detail and polish. I’m picky but believe STRV has done an amazing job making the game. It’s polished and immersive. They built 11 different interactions that enable users to unlock different puzzles. Everyone loves the puzzles. We’ve received a lot of great feedback on the interactions too.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

Unlike many agencies, STRV acts as an extended team. They uniquely integrate with internal teams. Depending on the project and its timeframe, STRV has a wide range of available engineers who figure out our needs.

We work together every day via Zoom and share a Trello board. We also use Slack for communication and have weekly sprint stand-up meetings. The process works because their engineers integrate with our team. They’re also responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have a long history in the tech industry and know it’s rare to find an agency like STRV. Their approach to team integration is special. They hire extremely confident and competent engineers. I visited their home office and found that their whole team was engaged, focused, and happy. STRV built a vibrant community, which is how they attract great talent. They have a great reputation.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any constructive criticism. However, I would like to see them have more locations and grow their footprint. I want them to be more visible and more successful.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Look no further than STRV. I always refer people to them because they’re great. Don’t look at them as a normal agency; look at them as an extended team and trust their engineers. Roll up your sleeves and engage them because they will be able to get you wherever you want to go.

**The Review** — Nov 6, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Remaining proactive throughout the engagement, the skills and demeanor of the STRV team have impressed the client. They have gone beyond the normal scope of developers' responsibilities and have guided the client through the requirements that must be met to publish an iOS or Andriod app.
""The scope of their abilities is exceptional."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the founder and CEO of Cinnamon. We are building video streaming platforms and toolkits for creators. We offer mobile and desktop apps at the moment.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

Right after receiving seed investments from our investors, we had to make a decision as to whether we wanted to build our mobile apps ourselves or choose an agency that could deliver the apps to us within a certain period of time.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

As a startup, we have to move quickly. We picked them to do the work on our Android and iOS mobile engineering as well as on the emotion detection AI.

What is the team composition?

There were 10 people that we worked with, including three Android developers, three iOS developers, one QA, one project manager, one AI specialist, and one backend developer.

How did you come to work with STRV?

Our engineering team is based in the Czech Republic. STRV is based in multiple locations, but they started off in the same city. Their track record made them pretty well known in this industry across the country.

We had a couple of options, but after a few calls and the technical specifications, we ultimately chose STRV for this project.

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent exactly $275,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2020, and it is an ongoing relationship.

Most of the work had been completed by the end of August 2020. Now, we are only using their AI engineer for our needs and purposes because we managed to hire our own mobile engineers in-house.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They have a sharp team. Not only are they eager and energized to commit to our projects, but we also admired how they proactively requested specifications from us.

They have been very helpful in guiding us through Apple and Android requirements for store approval. The entire team that has been working with us has remained focused on the quality and delivery of the solutions. Overall, we are super excited that we have had this experience–it has been educational for us.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

I think the job has been done pretty well. Anytime they needed something, they communicate immediately without friction points. We've slowed them down a few times.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The scope of their abilities is exceptional. They know exactly what clients need and can adjust anything to adapt to those needs. The team moves companies from point A to point B.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We once gave them a challenging, vague request that we thought should've been completed more quickly. However, we should have been more clear about our needs from the start to avoid the resulting misunderstandings.

At the end of the initial project, I forgot we had any issues because our success overshadowed those negative feelings.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would definitely choose STRV because they shape ideas into functioning solutions that convert customers. They have the experience to advise and guide companies on the way. They've built hundreds of apps, so their expertise speaks for itself.

Product Development Lead, heybaby

- Review Type: Online Review

**The Review** — Aug 13, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: While the app has only just launched, it has begun to received recognition and praise in the media, meeting the expectations of the internal team. STRV communicates regularly and avoids delays. The team is hard-working, driven, and knowledgeable.
""STRV really took on our project as their own, approaching even the smallest tasks with great care."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the Product Development Lead of heybaby. heybaby is the first dating app that puts the kid conversation front and center. Whether you see children in your future or have them already, heybaby helps family-minded people find each other.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire STRV?

We partnered with STRV in the very beginning, armed with little more than the concept and a basic wireframe. STRV was brought in to help bring our vision to life by shaping it and giving it direction.

We needed them to take us through their Discovery Phase, which means that they worked with us to define heybaby by establishing the foundation of what we wanted to make and where it would fit in amongst the competition. From there, the team tackled the design and development of the entire app, all led by their product managers, who worked with us to make sure no decisions were made without our own team.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a dating app that would breathe life into the dating game. There are tons of niche dating apps, but we felt there was nothing out there for family-oriented people who didn’t want to waste time with empty conversations or casual meetings that may not lead to anything.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select STRV?

We were looking for a company that has made beautiful dating apps in the past and could bring unlimited expertise to the project. And we needed someone who had a set, proven process for bringing an idea to life from scratch. STRV was the clear choice. Because STRV has tons of experience with dating apps, we knew that the team was skilled and creative enough to help our app stand out.

Describe the project in detail.

Once STRV joined the project, we set up regular meetings, defined everyone’s role and scope of involvement, and worked together to analyze the user experience, crucial features that would cater to our target audience, etc. When everything was defined, STRV’s designer and developers got to work.

Apart from a detailed onboarding experience, the main focus was on security. Thanks to their prior experience, STRV knew which data analysis tools needed to be implemented to keep user information and the entire community safe, and we began working on eliminating scammers during the verification process.

What was the team composition?

We’ve had STRV’s product managers, developers (iOS, Frontend, Backend) and a designer all working on the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project and cooperation are still ongoing. The app has been available in the App Store since March 2020, and the launch campaign is focused on the San Francisco Bay Area region in California - USA. So far, the reception from the users and the media has been very positive, and the app will gradually be promoted across all USA, and hopefully internationally.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

communicate everything clearly, with zero delays, is something we found incredibly valuable. From design aspects to the next steps in development, we always felt that our input was heard and taken into consideration.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

STRV really took on our project as their own, approaching even the smallest tasks with great care. They wanted to understand our motivations, our goals, our worries...everything. In terms of design and development quality, they’re absolute experts in what they do. The product manager is always thinking many steps ahead and evaluating each detail from all angles.

Designers take great pride in their work and aren’t satisfied with “good enough”. And engineers are clear masters of their craft. From day one, you really feel that your product is in safe hands. But despite all this know-how, they always ensured that every decision was a conversation. That’s a rare find.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The price is relatively high compared to some competitors. But of course, we knew this from the get-go and always felt that the quality coincides with the price. So it’s less of an “area for improvement” and more just something that inspired us to ask additional questions before closing the deal.

**Feedback Summary**: In addition to delivering high-quality code, STRV used their vast experience in the mobile development industry to offer actionable insights and suggestions that ultimately improved the final product. The team is well-structured and effectively prioritizes tasks. They take ownership of their work.
"“They don’t just do the work; they go above and beyond and provide suggestions to make the product even better.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO of a fintech startup. We focus on offering digital banking to smaller credit unions and banks.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed someone to help us develop a mobile solution for our next-generation platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV developed our mobile banking app. It includes all of the features you see with digital banking, such as login, transfer functionalities, and transaction history. They used Swift and Kotlin to develop the app, which is native iOS and Android.

They do have good designing sense, but we had hired a designer before we handed the app over to STRV for development.

What is the team composition?

We hired two senior iOS developers and two senior Android developers.

How did you come to work with STRV?

They were recommended to us. We used them before for our first-generation platform, and now we’re doing the second generation. They have the expertise.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $300,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2020, and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of the code is really good, and the team is very good and experienced. They care about their work. They don’t generate sloppy code.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

I manage the project. We follow an agile methodology and use Jira to check on the progress. They deliver on time and are very well structured. They know how to prioritize things. We have daily standups and use Slack to talk regularly. We use email occasionally.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re more experienced than I am in mobile development. They don’t just do the work; they go above and beyond and provide suggestions to make the product even better.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They did a really good job. We’re very happy with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you check the developers’ resumes for the experience level you’re looking for. Work with the manager to lockdown the scope of the project and make sure it can fit into your budget.

**The Review** — Jun 17, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: STRV satisfied the requirements by delivering a well-designed and functional app on budget and schedule. The detail-oriented team treats the product as if it were their own. Beyond excellent design capabilities, one of their core strengths is project management. They communicate proactively.
"“They’re really thorough and know what they’re doing.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Daytrip, an online platform. Our users can book private drivers for leisurely trips all over the world.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed someone to develop our iOS app. We also wanted a company that could master project management and development and really deliver on the product, as opposed to hiring cheaper competition or doing it in-house ourselves.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially hired STRV to design our app. Then, we were choosing between different agencies to develop the app after the design phase, and there were benefits to having the same company develop it.

They developed our iOS app, and they may develop an Android version in the future. Our customers will be able to use the app to book trips, manage bookings, find inspiration about tourist destinations, and get information during their trip. The app will have various safety features, such as enabling users to share their location with friends and family.

During the design phase, they shared the designs with us through InVision. They used Swift to program the app.

What is the team composition?

We had one UX designer and a project manager during the design phase. For the development phase, we had the same project manager and three assigned iOS developers.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We really wanted the final project to be full-service and to stay on budget and schedule. We trusted that STRV had the process in place to make this happen. They had the experience to give us a clear expectation of what we could expect for the 3–5 months of development, what the final product would look like, and how much it would cost. We chose them because of this. Their portfolio also showed us they could deliver really nice and functional products.

How much have you invested with them?

The design was €20,000 (approximately $22,500 USD), and the development was about €180,000 (approximately $203,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2019, and the main part of the development was finished in May 2020. Now, we’re finishing up some details on our part, such as supplying the backend and making sure that APIs fit well together. The app isn’t released yet, but we’re testing the beta product and finishing up the API communication with the app.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We got a nicely designed and working product within the scope and budget. They fulfilled the expectations we had for them.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is one of their biggest strengths. We don’t have it in-house, and it’s important for an external agency to have. They were very proactive in communication. We had frequent meetings. We communicated with the team through Slack, and they also used a project management tool.

We knew what they were doing at all times. The project manager was there to step in if the developers weren’t on the same page or needed something. When the project manager sensed that the communication between our developers and their developers wasn’t ideal, she’d step in. They’re really thorough and know what they’re doing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

STRV really cares about the product as a whole. They want it to be usable. They pay attention to detail so that the end-user can enjoy using it. They work on it as if it were their own.

The project management is really good. The communication was very open, and we could quickly go through any questions or concerns on either side.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The project manager changed midway through the project. It would’ve been better if the new one didn’t have to come up to speed on the project. Our developers had to get used to working with a new person. However, the new project manager did successfully take over, so it wasn’t a big problem after all.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have really clear goals in mind when you start the project. Know what the project should achieve, and give the designer a lot of freedom in getting the design to a state where it can achieve those goals. They’re really good at designing mobile apps. It’s very beneficial to give them freedom in designing the user flows and the UI.

**The Review** — May 11, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Although its early, initial results are promising as engagement and organic referrals have increased, leading to higher quality users joining the platform at a fraction of the cost. The team at STRV went above and beyond with project management, ensuring smooth communication and quick responses.
""I can say STRV totally stands apart from any other vendors I have worked with before."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the co-founder and COO of a community-based media company at the intersection of pop-culture and entrepreneurship. We produce monthly events and create tailored content for our subscribers and members, the next generation of creative leaders across entertainment, music, media, tech, fashion & art.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire STRV?

Referral programs are one of the best ways to increase organic conversions at a low cost. These systems must be extremely frictionless and fun to use which makes developing them and designing the UI rather challenging. STRV developed everything from UI/UX design to frontend and backend development.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to develop and easy and fun to use referral program.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We had heard great things from people we trust in the tech community. We reached out and felt really good about STRV after our initial call with one of the co-founders. We considered three companies and STRV was selected based on own internal vendor ranking rubric.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

STRV developed the referral rewards system to allow frictionless sharing and earned rewards. Key. functionalities included multiple layers of transactional emails, a web app, and a database. The STRV team was responsible for end to end development including implementation into existing web properties and Saas services.

What was the team composition?

Account Manager, Project Manager, Designer, and engineers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

It's too early to be sure but so far we've seen really promising results. Increased engagement and organic referral behaviors have led to higher quality users jointing our platform and at a fraction of the cost.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Our teams linked together via a shared slack channel. This is were weekly standup where conducted. A shared channel was easily the best way to keep this fast-paced project on track. Especially since slow feedback from clients is usually the reason for most delays. We were able to respond nearly in realtime with live feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The entire team from start to finish went out of their way to ensure that all our concerns had been addressed. They aired on the side of over-communicating which was really helpful. They keep us updated on completed and upcoming tasks almost daily and reminded us of their needs from us. I have worked with very many vendors and this is an area where I can say STRV totally stands apart from any other vendors I have worked with before.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Sometimes the team moved too quickly. We found ourselves trying to keep up with needs and requests for information that we as clients were expected to provide. I wouldn't have had it another way but this the only aspect of the project that was particularly challenging.

I'm the VP of Product & Engineering at Teampay, a business-to-business payments solution for SMB businesses. We have hundreds of clients across multiple industries.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire STRV?

Our company had been around for several years, but had not developed a mobile application. Additionally, we had developed several products that would be well-served by a mobile app. Since we did not have any mobile development expertise, we decided to engage a third party to build our solution.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a robust mobile application on iOS. We wanted it coded cleanly so that we could eventually take it in house if needed.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We talked to at least five different vendors to understand their workflows, philosophies, capabilities, and prices. After much consideration, STRV seems like the best fit to us because of their ability to work within our existing tools and processes in a timely fashion.

Describe the project in detail.

We started with some basic discovery using the existing mobile web application as a guide for v1 requirements, and then STRV's designer took it from there. We had weekly calls to review designs and make sure progress was moving to schedule.

Once we moved into development, we continued the weekly calls. In addition, STRV was on our slack team, and we saw the results of their regular developer updates. The development team used our Github account, so we had full access, and they coded in Swift.

What was the team composition?

We had a project manager, a designer, and two iOS/Swift developers. As the project moved into development, the designer resource went away.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had a well functioning application in our hands within a few months.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between our teams was seamless. Because they were on our Slack team, we were able to rapidly provide feedback. They always resonded in a timely fashion.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I really liked the feedback we got from STRV on UX and design best practices on mobile. They provided great reasoning for why they made the choices they did, but we also willing to compromise if we had compelling reasons for wanting changes. It felt more like a partnership than a one-sided relationship.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing comes top to mind.

**Feedback Summary**: Although the project is still in progress, they predict that the project will be successful. They've received very positive feedback on the design thus far, a testament to STRV's experience and expertise. The team at STRV is communicative, knowledgable, and cooperative.
""We haven't found any weak points during the cooperation. Third, perfect communication."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Manager Global IT CoE Online at a company that supported the global IT service in the cosmetics corporate. Our IT CoE is headquartered in the Czech Republic and it has about 200 employees. I oversee the development of our digital products on websites and mobile apps.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire STRV?

Our company decided to redevelop the current shopping mobile app with an ambition to build a basic digital platform for our customers. That's why the focus is primarily on the best UX/design experience and modern technical architecture. We needed to increase the experience in that area and we supported our team by experts from STRV.

What were your goals for this project?

The first goal of the project is a prototype where we can consider the UX/design quality and technical architecture. The next steps will follow.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We searched for a vendor in our region (Central Europe) to be able to meet personally at least time to time. We evaluated STRV as the best option based on their experience and excellence in the area of designing and development of mobile apps.

Describe the project in detail.

Once we selected this vendor we set up two streams of the cooperation. In regard to UX/Design, we started with an intensive workshop with our corporate designers and the project owner to be aligned in an understanding of the project, expectations, and basic rules. After that, the STRV designer elaborated and consulted the design of particular areas in regular iterations. In regard to development, we more profited from a mentoring role of the experienced developer.

What was the team composition?

In general, there were a product owner, a designer, frontend/backend developers and QA in the team. As mentioned, we hired just the UX/design position and a senior developer/architect. The project management was on our side.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is still in progress. However, we can already predicate that the result of the phase of the prototype will be successful. Especially we can highlight very positive feedback on the design where our designers appreciate the experience in mobile apps. As well the developers bring the knowledge and experience that was expected.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The hired experts were in almost daily contact with the product owner. The communication was perfect and the cooperation was smooth.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

First, what was already mentioned several times, the experience in mobile apps development. Second, the stability of the high-level skills and knowledge. We haven't found any weak points during the cooperation. Third, perfect communication.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The price is relatively high compared to the competitors. On the other hand, the quality is high too.

**The Review** — Jan 22, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: While development is still ongoing, STRV has created a high-quality product. Their team works efficiently to ensure that users have a great experience. They’ve exceeded expectations by sending a team member to their partner’s offices for easy collaboration.
"“The experience we’ve had while working with them has been great.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the mobile engineering manager at LegalZoom. We allow entrepreneurs, people who want to start a business.  We offer easy, digital legal solutions for our customers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We’re creating an app that will help out clients form an LLC, incorporation, or other classifications.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The app is a post-order product we use to finalize customer orders, users can ask questions, and they can track the status of their order, digital files about their company, chat with an agent or a chatbot. We wanted to build a modern mobile app that ties into our secure APIs, and other toolsets.

They built it from the ground up. Working with our internal teams, they created the architecture, engineering, design, and the product.

On the iOS side, they used Swift, and on Android they used various toolsets, SDKs, and native plug-ins to build a native experience.

What is the team composition?

We had a total of nine people on our team, including four iOS engineers, four Android engineers, and one UI/UX designer.

How did you come to work with STRV?

Someone on our team worked with them in the past and had a great experience. They loved that they were able to scale up quickly and still deliver a robust, clean code, that created the experience to the customers.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $5 million–$10 million

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2017 and the project is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As time goes on, STRV continues to build the right product. They’ve been ahead of the curve in ensuring a great product and customer experience.

On the product side, we use Google Analytics to optimize leads and track metrics. We ensure that our customers are getting a great experience—whether that’s finding different defects or resolving confusion. We also track metrics on the hours each developer spends on a project and their impact. They’ve been overachieving on several levels. The experience we’ve had while working with them has been great.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management standpoint, they’ve done very well. Communication has been amazing. We have monthly stand-in meetings, but if I need additional information, they’re always available to answer questions. Their door is always open.

There’s a ten-hour time difference between our team and theirs, but they still get back to us in a timely manner.

What did you find most impressive about them?

First, the ability to scale developers at a rapid pace. Second, they customize the development process. I’ve worked with other offshore teams in the past, and it’s been very difficult.

Their team had gone above and beyond. They actually sent a developer here to work out of our office. That’s a big deal. They’re able to join meetings, interact with us, and get to know what we really need.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At the beginning of our project, we had a few communication issues when rotating developers into our project. We had a few gaps between developers that would stall productivity. But, we’ve figured out the right process and are able to transition between developers smoothly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You’ll get high-quality engineers that work quickly and efficiently. They’ll definitely bring your business new customers. We had a great experience.

**Feedback Summary**: The initial versions of the app drove remarkable increases in revenue for the client. Knowledgable and professional, the engineers from STRV routinely deliver on requirements. Customers can expect a dedicated and flexible team.
""Our iOS developer cares deeply about our app, as much as any of our full-time employees."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

The Athletic is a subscription-based sports media company, and my position is CEO.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

I was the only engineer at the time when we hired STRV, and we needed some engineering support for our mobile offering.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV built our initial iOS app and our initial Android app. They developed both from scratch while I created the API.

We were primarily responsible for the design, although STRV did come up with some great ideas. We had a separate design team at that point. They delivered an app that lets users subscribe to our service, read articles, favorite articles, and personalize their experience based on whoever teams they follow.

Now STRV is integrated into much larger teams. We still have them on board, but they work with our full-time developers who are based in San Francisco. We treat them as additional engineers.

What is the team composition?

In the beginning, it was two iOS developers and two Android developers. At one point, we reached three of each. For the majority of the engagement, though, we’ve had one iOS develop and two Android developers. We also have a project manager, but they are very hands-off with our project.

How did you come to work with STRV?

I have a friend who worked for SRTV doing sales in North America for them. He’d talked them up to me before, and I eventually got to know them and liked some of the work they’d done.

How much have you invested with them?

At this point, we’ve spent about $1.2 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2015.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The initial apps that they created were successful and enabled us to raise $100 million.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

We haven’t experienced any problems. All of their engineers are experienced, and we have project managers on our side.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The personal ownership of the product stands out. Our iOS developer cares deeply about our app, as much as any of our full-time employees. That level of commitment makes a huge difference.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was a short period back in 2017, where we had a few issues with an Android developer. STRV had a few folks leave their company, and, although it wasn’t their fault, we did feel the impact in terms of a lack of continuity. For the last two years, though, we’ve had the same person, and it’s been wonderful.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for a premium partner who’s focused on creating an app or a website that lasts, STRV is an excellent choice. I can’t comment on their ability to deliver MVPs or rapid prototypes, but I would put them in the highest end of partners who work in the capacity that we’ve hired them for.

**The Review** — Oct 31, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: They deploy the most cutting-edge technology and complete projects according to the specifications, fostering a positive customer experience. STRV facilitates thorough project management by communicating seamlessly, remaining realistic about deadlines, and taking scope changes in stride.
"“They’re there to help us and make our products as successful as possible.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a product finance controller at Rich Uncles, a company that sponsors multiple real estate investment trusts (REITs). Rich Uncles has developed an investment platform where investors can purchase REIT shares. The share proceeds are then used to purchase commercial real estate that have creditworthy tenants. Our REITs receive rent from the tenants and distribute that rent to shareholders in the form of monthly dividends.

The platform is quite complex and has multiple backend integrations with web application services to facilitate the capture of funds and the issuance of shares. Investors have a dashboard on the platform where they can manage their accounts, purchase additional shares, access their investment history, set their dividend selection, redeem shares, process transfers, update banking information, manage user security settings, etc. The platform not only gives users a point of reference to their investments but also to the REITs that the investments are in, the status of those REITs, and the assets that they’re purchasing.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

When I came on board in 2015, Rich Uncles was working with a local vendor that had developed the first version of our website. However, we needed something a bit more sophisticated and robust. We were looking to integrate more web applications.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV redeveloped our platform and built new features. As we implemented more third-party applications, they took what had been previously developed and evolved it to what it is now. They helped us transition from a LAMP stack environment to a full JavaScript stack.

What is the team composition?

We have a pretty extensive team over there. It varies depending on the project, but we consistently interact with 4–5 individuals. If we need to add more developers, we’ll ramp up to 8–10 team members.

How did you come to work with STRV?

A business associate suggested that we reach out to STRV. We liked their products, and they had a robust team of front and backend developers who were well-versed in current technology. They seemed innovative and capable of catapulting us to the next level.

How much have you invested with them?

My company has spent somewhere in the range of $1–$10 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work with STRV began in May 2015, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our projects are very event-oriented, so as long as they’re completed to our specifications, it’s been a success. STRV’s work has been well received by our internal team.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been great. Our current project manager is very thorough and looks at the past, present, and future. One of the things we appreciate is that they communicate very well. They’re also very realistic, and they’ll push back on timelines if our go-live dates are too aggressive.

STRV’s team is forthcoming and honest in the work that they provide for us. They’re there to help us and make our products as successful as possible.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is pliable, innovative, and creative, and they deliver on-edge technology. When it comes to development, they’re willing to ride the wave with us and make constant changes. For instance, if there’s a new regulation and we need to switch gears, they’re right there with us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In everything, there is always room for improvement. Throughout my time working with them, I’ve seen STRV take strides to better not only elements of the platform but also our business relationship. As a young company, we’ve gone through lots of change that pushed and challenged us to hone the quality of our product. I can’t say I’ve experienced a period of time where we’ve seen any degradation in their work as a result of our fast-paced growth. STRV has been consistent every step of the way. Even anticipating certain changes and making adjustments resulting in favorable outcomes for us and our investors.

Any advice for potential customers?

Our experience is that STRV is the engine that will catapult you. Know what you want before you go to them, because they’re an open canvas and can create whatever you want. If what you want isn’t pretty, the picture they sketch won’t be either.

**Feedback Summary**: The frontend design was completed in a short timeframe and has been highly functional for customers. The STRV team worked seamlessly with the client's internal team and delivered significant value for the product. Their team has been responsive and proactive throughout the project.
""They do great work and set your products and technology on the right path."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and co-founder of a business that helps other companies access capital and fundraise more efficiently.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

The core of our business and product is building easy-to-use tools for companies to understand their financial health. We had to build a consumer-grade frontend that would be a good foundation to release these features to our users. They were instrumental in building this foundation.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped me and the CTO pick which frontend technologies we should be using, delivered the first version of the technology, and help us iterate on top of the platform. The program was built in React, specifically React Hook because it’s more functional. We also used TypeScript and single-page rendering with Next.js. GraphQL was used for our data-layered backend.

We started with an initial build-out, doing a lot of foundation-laying work for us. They’re staying on to help us spread that knowledge internally as we add more engineers to the project. An STRV designer also helped us think through our design language and strategy.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two frontend engineers and one designer.

How did you come to work with STRV?

I had worked with STRV at a previous company. I had experience with how they work and the quality of developers that they bring to the table.

What is the status of this engagement?

The work began in March 2019 and is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Across the board, we’re seeing that our frontend design hold up as our customers use the platform. The STRV engineering team has helped deliver value to our customers. We were able to get that ready in a short amount of time.

The work has also been well-received in our internal team. Their engineers have worked well with our internal team and transferred a significant amount of knowledge for long-term success.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

We handled all project management internally. However, they were self-starters and able to manage themselves. They came up with requirements and were proactive in giving feedback in regard to the different features we were building and how long the product would take to build.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When you choose to work with STRV, you know you’re getting great developers. You won’t need to rewrite their code. They really help lay a strong foundation.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, none that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re great. They do great work and set your products and technology on the right path.

**The Review** — Aug 26, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Initial feedback has been positive, as users commend the usability and aesthetic quality of the site. The team impressed with their timeliness and organizational skills. Their patience and collaborative spirit promise a lasting relationship.
""I was blown away by their abilities to complete my visualization and concepts."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

iOOi™ brings a unique value proposition in that its Socialpedia™ platform is designed in a manner that encourages users to stay immersed on the site and in the content. I'm CEO of iOOi using my advanced strategic & organizational abilities to lead the development of iOOi ™ with STRV engineerings.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire STRV?

Since I visualized a user-generated-content-focused platform that effectively combines learning, search, multimedia, and shopping all contained within a single site, I have no software engineering experience and found that STRV is best fit to develop iOOi's platform from scratch to finished development.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals for this project is that iOOi™ is easily distinguishable from other websites that have:

singular focus (ex. social networking vs online publishing)
	suboptimal layout and design
	low ability to captivate users
	high bounce rates
Also, one of our goals is to have users who can view all user generated content in an elegant way with no clicking-through to other websites, therefore keeping them on iOOi™ longer. Another goal is that our platform strengthens the searching and knowledge-sharing experience by encouraging high quality user-generated content for users to explore. In other words, as the length of time that a user remains immersed on the site increases, so, too, do the opportunities for monetization.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

After contacting several potential vendors, we met up and received their initial pitches. We narrowed it down to 2 vendors and then we shared our visualization/concepts with them. It was very excited to select one because we foresee that they will help us to see our product become live!

With being said, we selected STRV based on their quality of their final proposal, their willingness to work with us on how to interact with the website.

Describe the project in detail.

After we selected STRV, we had a series of discovery/brainstorming meetings to discuss our visualization of iOOi platform. Within first 12 months, we received mockups and initial designs for the main page on the site.

After alpha and beta testings, we re-vamped & provided our improved design layout and flow on how we wanted the rest of the site to feel and look. The vendor came back to us with final iOOi platform - we were blown away!

What was the team composition?

Initially, we were assigned a project manager to support iOOi's visualization & platform and serve as the main point of contact throughout the project. My team and STRV's project manager and two frontend and 2 backend developers met up weekly via appear.in. After first 12 months, especially with wireframes & concepts being completed, it was down to 1 each of frontend and backend developers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After first round of iOOi platform is completed, Alpha testing was launched with around 50 users. In May 2018, we saw & collected many feedbacks. After revamping all designs, the new design of iOOi looked much more visible and friendly on the site.

Last May 2019, we launched Beta testing at one of university with around 150 people. Their feedback was very positive on the usability, flow, and look of the site. However, I saw few opportunities to improve and impact much more so currently we are working on it. Hopefully we will do a final test - Gamma before hard launch will be in early 2020.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Although the project manager was replaced twice, currently project manager was much easy to communicate with and provided us frequent updates. The project manager, 1 frontend developers and we connected via appear.in at least once a week and use Slack & Trello for all communication. Overall, I'm impressed by the timeliness of the team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was blown away by their abilities to complete my visualization and concepts. Frankly, with my no background software experience, I've learned so much more than I thought possible. I appreciated that they were patient and thoughtful while we came up to speed. They are particularly collaborative and positive experience for us. I will certainly engage with STRV again for next project such as App, Admin System, etc...

Are there any areas for improvement?

Naturally everything can always be done faster, but overtime we realized that patience and persistence are very important. In the end, quality is more important than speed and we ended up with a powerful & beautiful product. We will be next new platform what will shake the world!

**The Review** — Aug 15, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: The engineers provided by STRV deliver excellent code in a timely manner. Their communication skills effectively manage the time difference between teams, and their flexibility allows them to adapt their efforts to the needs of their client so that they can deliver the best results.
"“They are communicative on both Slack and Trello, so the integration between our teams is smooth and transparent.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of engineering for a media-tech company that automates the generation of local news. We currently produce more than 8,000 local news stories a month.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

Our initial idea was to build a local social network in which to distribute our content, so we hired STRV to help us create the MVP of an iOS app to get in front of our users.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We had the idea and a few specific functional requirements, but they collaborated with our designer to finalize the wireframes and then took over and developed the actual app.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked in different configurations over the years, but the most common one is a project manager on our end who communicates with an account manager on theirs, and that person is in charge of assigning personnel from their team of front- and backend engineers. Occasionally we will work with a few designers from them directly as well.

How did you come to work with STRV?

They were recommended by my co-founder based on previous work with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2015 and our work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were very pleased with the product we received, as well as with the fact that it only took about 3–4 months of work before we launched in the app store. If we need something delivered fast, STRV can onboard more engineers to get it done.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is pretty good. They’re really good engineers, and the quality of the code they deliver is high. If you have a good process for code reviews and practices, the STRV engineers will follow your process and the final product will be good.

The only caveat is the time difference, but their engineers are always willing to join in our morning standup sessions which pretty much mitigates the problem. They are communicative on both Slack and Trello, so the integration between our teams is smooth and transparent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are able to perfectly tailor their team to our needs—onboarding or relocating engineers depending on whether we have more or less work to do. Additionally, they are good at incorporating your feedback and will even switch engineers around if you have any problems.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There have been times where they hired more junior engineers, and we realized pretty quickly that it wasn’t going to be a good fit, but they have always been good about correcting those issues when they arise.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Even if you only have a basic idea of the requirements, they will be able to work with you end-to-end to get to a product; the important thing is that you have good processes in place. STRV can recommend a process, but if you’re not on top of the relationship and directing the work I could see things getting off course or going more slowly.

**Feedback Summary**: STRV’s efforts were instrumental in assessing the platform's major needs. They seamlessly managed the project and provided detailed outlines at each new phase. Their ability to provide excellent service while staying within budgetary restrictions sets them apart from other vendors.
"“Their process helped ensure that we didn’t diverge too far from our plans, which saved us time and money.”

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of a catering company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We wanted additional validation on our product’s direction and design.

Additionally, we aimed to ensure we weren’t in an echo chamber, in terms of what we believed about the market and our customers. We aspired to translate only the best elements into our product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV helped us get an early MVP of our product established. Specifically, they helped us with our need-finding and problem validation phases. They made sure we were approaching our issues correctly.

Once we were comfortable with the feedback data we received on our product challenges, they were able were able to help us get some early designs organized.

What is the team composition?

We worked with four people from STRV. Our team consisted of two designers, one project manager, and one product manager.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We were referred to them on two separate occasions. The first time was by a well-known design firm in the Bay Area, and the second time was by a colleague of mine from business school. Both of these recommendations lent ample support to our decision.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested $50,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in August 2018, and we wrapped up in April 2019.

We brought more of their assigned responsibilities in-house, as our company grew. We’re still in contact with STRV as it relates with needs that may come up in the future and we would certainly work with them again.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s difficult to assess the accuracy of need finding and problem validation in their early stages. However, six months removed from the project we found that many of their hypotheses were correct. Their process helped ensure that we didn’t diverge too far from our plans, which saved us time and money.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

Our teams worked well together. Our product manager even came from the Czech Republic to visit for a week, and we had a chance to work together in person.

Our project manager took a lot of responsibility and leadership in running the project. Because they were in Europe, we’d go to sleep with discussion notes, and wake up with an outline of what was worked on, with next steps. It was impressive that they managed the process so efficiently; it allowed us to focus on other aspects of our operations, such as technology development and fundraising.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We felt we were getting great value for what we were paying, which is important to us as a small business where every dollar is so precious. The team understood our financial constraints and helped us to craft a plan and realistic milestones. Outsourced teams usually charge as much as they can, but it felt very different with STRV. They reflected the same level of efficiency with our resources that we would expect from ourselves, internally. They made sure we had a successful outcome, even though it didn’t necessarily translate into more income for them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It took us a little longer to familiarize their team with our industry. It would have been better if we could’ve gotten them up to speed quicker, but I don’t know what we could have done to help that process.

There was also a period where we needed to change designers, which was actually a great shift for us. Unfortunately, there was some time wasted with the first iteration of designers. We would certainly work with them again, even with some of those challenges.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In general, it’s best to be clear about desired milestones and to have check-ins to remain on track. It’s definitely easy to have someone else come in and manage the process, but it’s important to keep a close watch on how much work should be outsourced and how much should be internal. I would suggest assessing what stage of competence your company is in; sometimes it’s crucial to the learning curve of your business and your team to keep certain responsibilities and jobs inhouse. Finding that balance with STRV was key, even though they were providing high-quality services for us.

**The Review** — Jul 31, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: STRV deftly navigated strict timelines to deliver superior products. They offer practical suggestions to improve design quality, and they execute on those visions. The team is transparent and communicative, evidenced by a seamless workflow with the remote creative team.
""They are well-equipped to give recommendations within the design or development parameters."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CMO of a company that is about to launch what we see as a groundbreaking financial application aimed at everyday banking. It also includes significant rewards programs that nobody else is offering at the moment.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We initially hired them for web design, but our engagement has since grown to include a redesign of the financial app we are introducing to the marketplace.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Taking a mobile-first approach, STRV designed our primary customer website by refreshing our existing content and presenting it in a new way. We wanted our site to be much more contemporary and clearer in terms of getting key information across to users. We have an in-house development team, but when we’ve needed extra help, their dev team has been very willing to step in.

They have also assisted with dev elements of secondary sites, including aspects of our corporate member program, which requires customized templates. More recently for our mobile app, STRV has orchestrated a complete redesign and representation of the material in the app, which takes up well over 250 pages.

What is the team composition?

Our primary contacts are our project manager and a designer, but we also communicate with their business and financial representatives at times.

How did you come to work with STRV?

We looked at competitive sites that we admired, and we researched who designed and built them. STRV was frequently the common denominator, so we contacted them and picked them.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in January 2019 and remains ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We anticipate a full launch of these redesigned products in about a month. STRV’s work to this point has been a significant upgrade from where we were previously.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had no issues from working with their design team in the Czech Republic. We have regular check-ins, and they run those meetings well. STRV always offers rationale and justification for their design decisions. I only have high praise for how they’ve handled the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are well-equipped to give recommendations within the design or development parameters. Also, they worked well with our expedited timelines, first for our website and now for our mobile app. Working under those time constraints has been a definite point in their favor.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not yet. I think we could have improved by having only one source of feedback, as opposed to multiple sources. And we could have done a better job of alleviating the time pressures we placed on them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend that future clients review STRV’s capabilities and the success they’ve had with other clients. That was our process, and it worked well.

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Jul 29, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: STRV has addressed most of the bugs across both the iOS and Android SDKs, and the iOS version is now in private beta. Although time differences can be difficult, the team has integrated well into the internal staff, working collaboratively to find technical solutions.
"“They work with us to figure out the best approach and provide a lot of suggestions when tackling engineering problems.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m one of the engineering managers at a cloud storage and content management services provider. My team is responsible for providing third-party APIs and software development kits (SKDs) for our platform’s features.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

My team had inherited a set of iOS and Android SDKs that another in-house department had developed. However, we didn’t have any mobile experience in our group, so we needed a contracting partner to help us ramp up while also solving pressing customer issues with our previous SDKs.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV is working closely with my team to develop new mobile SDKs for both iOS and Android. Most of the work has focused on the iOS side. The previous iteration was written in Objective C, so we wanted to rewrite it in Swift. We’ve just released a private beta to our customers this past week.

As for the Android side, customers requested the SDK to be Android X and 64-bit compatible, so we’ve updated the kit accordingly.

What is the team composition?

We work with about four resources at any given time, split between the iOS and Android teams.

How did you come to work with STRV?

One of our customers who works with our SDKs actually recommended STRV to us, so I contacted them. Their engineers did well in our interviews, so we decided to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent about $300,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started talking to them in February 2019, and they still work with us today.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our primary goal has been to deliver the beta iOS SDK and to fix bugs across both versions, and they’ve been successful there.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly manage the project from our side, working with their engineers in daily stand-ups in a large team format.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of the engineering is excellent, and their staff is very engaged with our project. Rather than telling them what to do and expecting a final product, we share a real collaboration. They work with us to figure out the best approach and provide a lot of suggestions when tackling engineering problems.

In terms of business logistics, I appreciate that they’re willing to work within our budget and timelines. That sort of participation has been very proactive from their side.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The toughest part of working with them is navigating the time zone differences because they’re based in the Czech Republic. Occasionally, their engineers have visited for a few weeks so that we could work on projects side by side, and the team is pretty flexible about our schedules. But having more in-person meetings would be great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

There’s a huge number of engineering companies out there, but STRV has high-quality engineers. If you’re looking for good work, they’re the ones to go to.

""They have a strong team of highly qualified resources."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the COO and co-founder of Ecomi, an app that helps users manage digital collectibles.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed additional qualified resources to help us quickly complete the frontend and some of the backend of our mobile app.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV provided mostly frontend development resources to help our team build our app from scratch, using React Native. They also provided some short-term backend support and tracked user analytics.

What is the team composition?

We worked with about five people, including one backend developer, three frontend developers, and a user analytics resource.

How did you come to work with STRV?

I believe they were introduced to us by a mutual contact who had worked with them before on a similar project. After speaking with their team, we felt they'd be an ideal partner for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested around $225,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January–July 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

STRV has done a great job of providing high-quality development resources that have successfully helped us develop our app quickly. Their work has been received well both internally and externally.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They had a fairly limited role when it came to managing the project. Initially, our main point of contact was somewhat lackluster but, after a few conversations, they improved their involvement to a satisfactory level.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were very impressed by their robust recruitment process, which is one of the main reasons we chose to work with them: They have a strong team of highly qualified resources.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not in particular. They met our standards of quality and timeliness.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Different resources on their team are located in different countries, so just be aware of potential time zone differences or try to request resources available during ideal hours.

**The Review** — Jul 18, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Although the development is ongoing, everything created thus far has been positively received by the internal team. The code written by STRV is high-quality and they continue to consistently deliver products with a personal touch. Despite the time difference, they are incredibly responsive.
"“It doesn’t feel like they’re outsourced, it feels like they’re part of our team.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CEO of Bonder.me, a next-generation platform for people to connect with each other.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We needed to create the product and make sure the code is done right. Our company received a patent within two years, which validates our idea, but we needed to find a team to help us build it. Because we’re on the innovation side, we didn’t have the necessary technical experience.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV did all of the strategy and development for our platform. We went through an R&D process with them, conducting focus groups and going through redesign phases. Their team made the necessary tweaks as we went through this process together.

After this strategic and research phase, STRV developed the product. This process is ongoing, so they’re building both the front- and backend of iOS and Android apps, along with performing QA testing.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 10–15 people from STRV, including a product development director. The amount of people fluctuates based on the intensity of the project at that time.

How did you come to work with STRV?

I have a friend who is a lead at a popular ridesharing service who told me about STRV. He said that when a company gets stuck and needs something done quickly, they call STRV. After completing some research, I decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We have invested between $200,000-$1,000,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with STRV began in July 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything STRV has created has been really well received by our team. The quality of the code is excellent, and they’re involved in the process from start to finish. Their team is always able to execute on time and really understands the task at hand.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

STRV is fantastic at project management, bringing my team into the fold. They have high standards for how the process works. Our product development director was very assertive. She has a very extensive background and it made our collaboration successful.

Our teams communicate through Slack and email. Despite the distance, they’re exceedingly responsive. The speed of their response time is unwavering.

What did you find most impressive about them?

STRV is all about the relationship and the partnership. They’re good at achieving because our product matters to them too. It doesn’t feel like they’re outsourced, it feels like they’re part of our team. That isn’t something that’s easy to achieve in this space.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything they could improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The instinct, especially if you’re in the startup business, might be to find a team who can get it done for the least amount. I’d advise against that. If you’re spending a little bit more, you’ll actually save in the long run. That has been my experience with STRV.

""STRV maintains their competitive advantage by keeping their engineers up-to-date with the latest technologies."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of sales & solutions engineering at an IT solutions company for enterprise companies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

One of our clients was looking for a company to help develop an application quickly.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

STRV sat with our client, asking questions about what they want. It helped the client get a clearer idea for the app. Then STRV took a couple weeks to create wireframes with a properly designed UX/UI. After developing the application for two months, it was launched.

Since that project ended, we’ve continued working with STRV. We had one project where we needed to refresh the design of an existing application. They worked with our project management team to come up with the right product direction for the UX/UI. Another project was for a customer’s product strategy. The client wanted to come up with an Excel product to demo potential projects. STRV was not only involved creatively with development but also in figuring out the whole ideation phase.

What is the team composition?

Depending on the project, we have anywhere from four to eight engineers that specialized in design, front- and backend development, and QA.

How did you come to work with STRV?

STRV was recommended by a friend of ours. When he worked with them before, he had a good experience.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $500,000–$1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with STRV started in October 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All of the projects they’ve worked on have been excellent. STRV not only develops projects for us but know what to or what we should develop. My colleagues and I are happy with their work.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve established a great working relationship with the project manager. She’s dedicated and creative.

What did you find most impressive about them?

STRV maintains their competitive advantage by keeping their engineers up-to-date with the latest technologies. Their entire team is motivated. They not only develop what we want but suggest what technologies can better the project before making it happen.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Traditional vendors provide a fixed rate for a support contract for startups on a time’s basis. It’s different with the enterprise market. When we use their service, they charge us. It’s something they’re transitioning to change for the enterprise market.

"“They took on our project as if it were their own, and working with them has been easy.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CEO of Flikflix. We offer an iOS and tvOS mobile app that helps people discover movies they love faster than they typically can now.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We were trying to create an interface for the tvOS portion of the app that allowed users to swipe through—like Tinder. Our coders were running into difficulties with the task.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I shared a Sketch file that detailed how I envisioned the interface with the STRV team. After examining the document, they browsed our databases and put together a plan for a backend that would make the UI look and feed as it should.

Their team provided valuable feedback and suggestions to help us improve the app, and they made our requested changes without any issues. The project was completed within five days.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a team of four people, including a project manager.

How did you come to work with STRV?

In a former role, my CEO had asked me to look into STRV for a project we were working on at the time. When I started researching companies for this project, I was surprised to find that their team had cold called us. I looked through their brochure, website, and portfolio of successful past projects and was very impressed. Their skills rivaled some of the dev shops I’d known for 15 years, and their pricing was reasonable. Hiring them seemed like a no-brainer.

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent between $100,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in April 2018 and still have some ongoing projects with them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our team spent weeks trying to figure this out, and STRV finished the full project in five days. I can count on them to get the job done and get it done quickly. For example, at one point we had a hard two-week deadline on a task that could have a huge impact on our company. It required the STRV team to work on code they’d never seen before. Long story short—they came through. They’re dedicated to getting the job done. Confident and competent, STRV strives to deliver what’s necessary for our projects, and they don’t get caught up in frivolous details.

How did STRV perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great. We held standups with developers at the end each day, so I could track their progress, and I had two meetings per week with the project manager. We were in touch on a daily basis, and I was always able to chat with the team if needed. I appreciated that latitude.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They took on our project as if it were their own, and working with them has been easy. We have great experiences with outsourced vendors from time to time, but it’s really rare for me to find a company that stands out as much as STRV has. On top of their knowledge and commitment to our project, they make me feel like I’m their only customer. They’re not concerned with money; they genuinely want to deliver a solution that fits our company’s needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s not a single thing that I would change about working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Hire STRV—don’t look anywhere else.

What challenge were you trying to address with STRV?

We were experiencing some issues, so we needed more development resources to help us produce a high-quality app.

## Portfolio & Awards

### Porsche Mobile Apps
The automobile manufacturer that needs no introduction, Porsche turned to STRV for help with consolidating a large portfolio of apps into one robust My Porsche app — which is central for customers who want to connect their smartphones with their vehicles.
As Porsche’s long-term partner since 2020, we’ve had a dedicated team of iOS, Android, frontend and backend engineers on the project, as well as a designer and product manager.
The app went live in 2021 and now has more than 150,000 active users, which is roughly half of what the web platform managed to attract over six years. Porsche’s CPO has dubbed these results “a tremendous success,” adding: “These people are currently one of the best people we’ve worked with so far.”

### The Pump
The Pump is more than just a workout app — it’s a community-driven platform where Arnold Schwarzenegger directly connects with his fans, offering tailored workout programs, motivation and exclusive content.
STRV partnered with Arnold and his team to design and build The Pump from the ground up, crafting an experience that merges the old-school energy of Mr. Olympia with the engaging, modern persona Arnold has become. Beyond fitness plans, The Pump fosters a thriving, non-toxic community where users interact with Arnold and each other.
Built in React Native for iOS and Android, The Pump features 16 variations of every workout program, a custom backend to handle heavy data loads and a unique admin panel powered by Remix. Its launch saw immediate success — selling out lifetime memberships in 72 hours, hitting the Top 20 in the US App Store (Health & Fitness) and driving massive engagement.
Arnold himself is active on the platform, proving The Pump isn’t just another fitness app — it’s a movement.

### Barry's X Digital Platform
Barry’s high-intensity interval training is renowned for its unparalleled energy across 80+ locations worldwide. Now, that entire vibe — with hundreds of on-demand and LIVE virtual classes — can be found in one app: Barry’s X. Proudly designed and built by STRV.
Creating Barry's X included integrating Barry's existing reservation system and migrating the entire user base to the new platform. We delivered iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Apple Watch, Android phone, Tablet, Web, Web Admin and a Web Membership app to assist the in-app experience.
Today, Barry’s X is the first community-driven digital fitness product that seamlessly integrates key touchpoints of an in-person studio experience into a digital setting. It also comes with a social networking feature that connects members of the global Barry’s community, fully customizable privacy settings and exclusive membership opportunities.

### The Athletic Mobile Apps
The Athletic has set a new standard in sports journalism, proving since its debut in January 2016 that die-hard fans are willing to pay for high-quality, detailed content.
STRV built the Athletic app from scratch. We started working on the iOS version while The Athletic was still in the beginning stages of Y Combinator. Three of our senior iOS engineers were quickly able to deliver a working MVP to the YC judges’ panel, enabling The Athletic to secure sizable investment funding in its seed round.
We completely redesigned the app a few times as coverage expanded. We had to keep the UI simple and convenient to use. During development, we suggested specific interactions and animations. Together with The Athletic designer, we created a unique user interface, using parallax animations and gestures.

### Kaiber AI
Kaiber is an AI creative lab and generative video platform used by more than 5 million creators, incl. Linkin Park and Kid Cudi. With its STRV-built mobile app, all of Kaiber’s core capabilities now fit into any artist’s pocket.
STRV built the Kaiber iOS and Android apps and designed the mobile experience together with Kaiber’s Head of Design, the legendary Ede Schweizer.

### Still Life Mobile Apps
The now #1 app for Stillness meditation, Still Life came to STRV for a redesign and refactoring. But after we exposed hidden flaws in the foundation, STRV ended up creating a brand new, amplified experience — with a stunning aesthetic and rich gamification features.
As a deadline-oriented client with no technical expertise, Still Life has been vocal about appreciating our timeliness and clear communication through frequent check-ins.
Gamification via a space exploration theme is a large part of our final design and has proven to be the right call; daily user engagement and user retention have consistently shown strong numbers following the release. As users move through planets, they unlock a vibrant world of meditation tracks. This makes for a journey that, apart from being a joy to gamify through diverse rewards, also offers easy navigation — something most meditation apps struggle with.

### Through The Lens Web Platform
Through the Lens is a web platform with basketball training videos by industry professionals. It was inspired by the professional experience of a prominent NBA and WNBA skills coach Alex Bazzell that has worked with respected players the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Trae Young and Candace Parker.
STRV designed and built the entire platform, creating a product that visually stands out among similar educational and streaming platforms across various fields, while remaining easy to navigate for all users.
Thanks to our designer’s willingness to experiment with unusual UX/UI elements — plus a whole lot of research and open dialogue — our final design was deemed by the client as capturing his “wildest imagination” of what TTL could be. By displaying content in an eye-catching style, we created a first impression distinguishable from anything else users may have seen.

### Minted Partnership
Minted is a design marketplace with a product selection curated by consumers. Its complex business model required long-term, ecommerce-savvy engineering and design support that could be trusted to be available at any scale within a moment’s notice.
Starting our years-long partnership strong, we built a brand-new Minted website in under a month, which solidified our ability to act with nearly zero lead time.
Among our many projects together, we’ve created a PWA flow for cards in under two months, a solution that works beautifully on all mobile and tablet devices. We were undeterred by the scope of features when asked to implement Minted’s card customization platform-wide, and we were more than ready to take on the iOS app with yet another holiday deadline in 2020.

### Bitcoin IRA Mobile Apps
First linking up in 2018, Bitcoin IRA and our team once again joined forces in 2020 to help the world’s largest crypto IRA platform go mobile via React Native.
We were tasked with building an iOS and Android app experience as highly rated as the web platform — which has 100,000+ users — while simplifying the flow of certain features via a design refresh.
After working with Bitcoin IRA’s own team, we successfully delivered the MVP and are proud to see both apps boasting a 5-star rating. We are now moving on to redesign their dashboard.

### Barnes & Noble Mobile Apps
A product of Barnes & Noble Education, Bartleby is a subscription service that offers textbook solutions and experts ready to help with any questions. To meet the needs of today’s students, a move from web-only to iOS and Android was a must.
The first question was, Native or React Native? After considering all possible future scaling and settling on React Native, we swiftly set up a communication structure for easy collaboration with Bartleby’s own team, advised on accessibility best practices and launched a well-received MVP.
Our post-launch suggestions played a crucial role in getting the App Store rating to 4.6, with hundreds of reviews and tens of thousands of users. And when Bartleby decided to add a feature for solving math problems via photo submissions, STRV quickly upscaled the team, using OCR (Optical Character Recognition), ML and reliable API to deliver exemplary results.

### Microsoft Azure DevOps
Microsoft’s Developer Tools Division is responsible for developer-focused products, including Azure, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code and App Center. Microsoft needed help with rapid prototyping of possible new products and designing radical improvements to existing ones.
We lost no time in providing Microsoft with qualified teams of experts to ramp up the division’s rapid prototyping process. For one project, we paired a designer and engineer and sent them to Microsoft’s offices to determine whether to invest resources and build a permanent team for a particular initiative. In other projects, we added frontend engineers, enabling the teams to prototype and then quickly test the newly created designs.
With STRV able to jump in with virtually no lead time, Microsoft could move faster and with far greater clarity on possible products, with no increase in its overhead.

### ClassDojo iOS App
Educators. Parents. Students. They all come together to communicate, share updates and learn on ClassDojo. With millions of users and strong growth, the startup needed fast, dependable app development.
With the mobile experience at the core of ClassDojo’s mission, the development of its iOS and Android applications was paramount to success. STRV came in to accelerate the development of both apps.
After the quick integration of one STRV engineer into the ClassDojo team, we ramped up our engagement to eight dedicated STRV iOS and Android engineers. The goal: Help ClassDojo build intuitive apps designed to serve its loyal users, and to evolve at the speed of education. The code our team designed with the ClassDojo team formed a rock-solid foundation for the platform’s mobile experience.
