No. Straight North is constantly evolving their skills and works hard to keep up AI innovations (overviews, search), which is very difficult with this fast-changing landscape.

We were looking for a budget-friendly vendor to establish the foundation of our SEO efforts.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Straight North provided SEO services, including keyword analysis, optimizing our website for search engines and AI search, and developing new pages and assets for our website. The team also created graphics and optimized some of our blog posts while establishing new keywords for new web pages we developed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our website impressions grew from roughly 13,000 per month to peaking at 212,000 per month. Website traffic also rose year-over-year by about 15%. When we started, we had roughly 10 keywords where we showed up on the first page of search results. By the end, we ranked for more than 100 on the first page. Our leads increased roughly 30% as a result of our SEO efforts, which turned into 10% business growth.

How did Straight North perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and email. They always delivered on time, but the deliverables almost always needed some editing and review. At times, it seemed like their copywriter was not communicating with our account manager regarding our brand guidelines and messaging.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with our overall impression growth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, the copywriter would include phrasing that was not aligned with our brand. This happened multiple times even after providing feedback on different deliverables.

At the begining of the project, Straight North outlined milestones and deliverable target dates. Straight North met every milestone and deliverable target date, on time or earlier than anticpated. 

You are appointed a project manager at the begining of your project, that serves as the liasion and main point of contact from start to finish. 

We were assigned Katie, and I could not be happier with her responsivness, and her extreme attentive nature. 

If I had any questions, suggestions, or feedback, Katie was quick to respond, quick to listen, and always available to jump on a call if needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

There are so many great things I could say about my experience with Straight North that it’s difficult to pinpoint which ones stood out the most. What has truly impressed me, though, is the level of care and attention they give to every interaction. At Straight North, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant a question or concern may feel, you are made to feel seen, heard, and valued. From accounting all the way to the president of the company, everyone takes the time to listen and make you feel as though your concern is just as important to them as anything else they may be handling that day.

If I had to choose one thing that I found to be the most unique about Straight North, is that they truly deliver what they say they are going to. 

There is not a single thing that was told to me during my discovery call that didn’t ultimately prove to be true. They deliver on their promises, and what has impressed me most is that their level of care doesn’t end once the deal is done. They continue to show up, follow through, and make you feel valued long after you’ve become a client.

My relationship with Straight North feels less like a client-service provider relationship and more like an extension of my own team. Their team truly feels like part of ours. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Straight North could have done differently?

I feel like, to have a credible review, you have to share both the good and the bad... I wish I could say something negative here, but I truly can’t. The only “bad” thing I could say is that one day, we finally reached the end of Tammy’s box of famous cookies. IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW.

Straight North has delivered at a high level for everything they cover for us in digital marketing. I think my expectations were just off a little when it comes to haow far their service would go. I.E. when building out pages they kill the seo copy and build out a very basic page. I should have understood that design/layout of new pages was not included in that service. So overall the only improvement would just be more clarity in onboarding. I am overall very pleased!
