Mat helped me improve website speed via core web vitals, clean out years of built-up junk from plugin and theme installs, and built a new custom theme.

Proven improved website speed via numerous metrics including GTMetrix, Pagespeed Insights, and more. As well as a properly built theme design based what I wanted. He made adjustments as needed as well, and was very communicative and responsive through the entire process.

Everything was on time. The project was executed with 5-star communication. Crucially, I never felt like I was a side project.

I do wish there was a package I could choose for a managed plan using a pre-built theme or theme builder - but that simply wasn't a business option (at least at the time).

Work included working with your design system, helping fit it into the blog design, reviewing the designs for consistency, and making suggested fixes developing a custom WordPress theme (both back and front end) —that included custom Gutenberg blocks that were based on those designs and the importing of all existing content, deploying the code, remediations and training.

StatenWeb has helped us on several projects. This includes CDN setup with AWS Cloudflare, website migration and WordPress setup, custom PHP development for the website’s US, plugin development for specific features, and more.

What was the team composition?

The project team consists of Mat (Managing Partner, StatenWeb) and one other developer, but I mostly interface with Mat.

A portion of the business was recently sold to a large digital publishing platform, in part thanks to StatenWeb’s help.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management is primarily done through Trello boards. Mat is extremely quick to reply, and the system is great for archiving. When more details are needed, we set up phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

What’s most impressive is Mat's quick response time. If I have a problem, he's usually on it within the hour.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Initially, project management was done via email, but Mat made the switch to Trello, which provides a much better workflow.
