I am the owner of a small community investment company based in merseyside UK. I write and illustrate bespoke children’s books for families with terminal illness to preserve special memories.

I hired Split Atom to proofread and edit my first book prior to publication.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted to reduce chances of any errors being found in my work.

How did you select this vendor?

I asked for recommendations on social media.

They Proofread and Edited my manuscript whip was 14000 words long and left comments suggesting corrections to spelling, grammar and punctuation. As I am dyslexia this was essential.

I worked with one member of the team.

My reviewer left 650 comments showing they had done a thorough job.

We had our era of experimentation which has lasted more than a year now. However, we've decided to stick to Split An Atom for the speedy quality service provided by the vendor.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

One of the best results we've acquired in a long time. Definitely coming back to this vendor for more.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It wasn't. It was a small project with a one to one correspondence which was delivered without the unnecessary involvement of management at any level.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The speedy correspondence and the understanding of the client's needs were very well appreciated from our end.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a nice clean, eye-catching, easy-to-use site with the ability for our viewers to navigate, along with being able to have an online store for our merchandise that was simple for us

How did you select this vendor?

Me and my team done hours and hours of research via the web and went through lots of reviews and check out different companies, once we found a selection of companies we checked out the website as they had produced and SAA seem to be the only ones with an idea of what we wanted and how we wanted to do it so we choose them and what a delight!

Ok so once we selected who we wanted to use, we gave our list of ideas/requirements and several discussions were made and then the SAA team came back with the options and ideas which all came together very neatly

What was the team composition?

We were given dedicated support by a project manager who has been with us since day one for all our need, updates, requirements without any issues or problems and always on hand when needed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The progress has been amazing so far...our stats are growing month on month to where we predicted and we are continuing to grow, and with that our site gets a few extras! We are very happy with the rate of progress which we forecasted ourselves. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very! The SAA Team are always on hand 24/7, which is very good for us as we working within an industry that doesn’t sleep so we are always traveling or awake late and ideas can sometimes appear at any hour!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The ideas they had for us! We had our own ideas but they had some great ones for the site which we used and the team are very great in understanding our ideas

Are there any areas for improvement?

Everything seems to run smoothly, there have been times when emails have been lost but that can just be down to technical issues on either end, Ours or theirs

My book required editing and formatting for the final draft.

What were your goals for this project?

My goal was to have my novel edited and published.

How did you select this vendor?

I was working with a different editor, but they did not complete the work I paid for. In my search for a new editor, Split An Atom reached out to me to provide their services.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They edited the entire book, leaving notes within the document where my attention was needed. Further, Split An Atom provided formatting services for my novel, leaving me with clean files for bound and e-reader versions of my book.

There were two members of Split An Atom assisting this project as needed.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

My book is now available on Amazon.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

They offered use of ActiveCollab to communicate and share files, but we did a lot of work within Word. I consider this a small-scale project, but it’s still about 230,000 words. They worked quickly and professionally.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

After I had a poor experience with a different editor, Split An Atom went out of their way to help me at no cost. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and generosity.
