For what projects/services did your company hire Space-O Technologies, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a mobile app that would bring a technological shift to the nightlife industry and provide customers with a smoother and safer experience, completely changing how the nightlife sector currently works.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for app developers that had an extensive experience in mobile app development as well as a strong presence in the market. We chose Space-O specifically because of the up-close experience we had with another app they had developed and we wanted to achieve the same high level of standards, quality and satisfaction. We were looking for brilliant experts and we found them.

First of all, this was our first time engaging with app developers for our start-up and we had no clue where to start. We had the idea in mind and what was our goal but had no idea what we wanted to look like. Space-O was able to take our idea and guidelines and brought it to life. We wanted a mobile app for Andorid and iOS to change the behaviours of the nightlife industry and Space-O was able to develop it beyond expecations. Features included, but not limited to, booking, location services, ticketing, QR code payment with Stripe integration and more.

We have worked closely with the Project Manager for the duration of the project and was our main point of contact who would then allocate resources internally to deliver on the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The deliverables are amazing and beyond expectations. We are very satisfied with the look and freshness of the mobile app as well as the easiness to use. Within two weeks of the app launch, we saw a high engagement with 500 downloads and received positive feedback directly from users. Users have found the app is easy to use, they love the design and had an overall positive experience.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Timelines and deadlines were key for us. The team put a lot of effort into delivering against these and has worked hard even under our pressure and accommodated our requests. Communication was clear along the way - we had some misunderstandings and miscommunications along the way at the beginning of our business relationship. All official communication happened via Basecamp through which we were exchanging daily communication with the team regarding progress and milestones development as well as any actions to be taken on both sides. The team at Space-O also delivered a weekly report with the progress made so far and focus for the week ahead.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their app development skills are very impressive, especially UX design, and we were blown away. This was our first app and their patience was key to the success, especially in dealing with our requests and changes throughout the phases of the project as well as explaining everything in detail and how changes would impact the whole project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had a few misunderstandings along the way with our communication and I think that's also attributable to our cultural differences. We would've preferred to have clearer timelines with regards to how long it would take something to be developed rather than a general estimation of time and effort. This was a problem as we were not able to plan ahead and long-term since during some phases timelines were not clear. But overall good.

Space-O Technologies built our mobile app from scratch, following our requirements and product specifications from the scoping phase. It was an Android- and iOS-friendly platform, which provided users with access to nearby television listings. Through the app, users could keep track of upcoming shows and hold discussions with others who had the same genre preferences.

We mainly interacted with one project manager and two development engineers.

We conducted a vetting process and decided to choose Space-O Technologies because of their previous experience and fair price point.

Our engagement ran from January 2018–January 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were overwhelmed with the quality of Space-O Technologies’ work. We had a checklist to evaluate the product’s usability, and we were thrilled to tick most of the boxes upon witnessing the app’s performance. Additionally, any area that needed refinement was addressed by their team right away.

How did Space-O Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly communicated via email and relied on Trello and Basecamp for project management. Space-O Technologies was a responsive and cooperative partner — they were attentive to all our needs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were most impressed with their team’s capacity to generate high-quality work while integrating our feedback and preferences into what they did.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could benefit from a more streamlined communication approach. We encountered some network issues that impeded the flow of our meetings.

After we launched the app, we had a few downloads. My peers enjoyed the slick design and the functionality of the App.

The PM was easy to communicate, he understood the end goal of the scope of Work and we work together in achieving the API key process.

From UX/UI Design to develop the app/website. They were very organized and had a good track record.

Nothing for now.

They’re in charge of managing our servers, releasing updates, and maintenance. When they first started, they were working on iOS/Android app development. Then, we expanded to other areas, including the vendor and consumer sides of our web platform. We also use their design expertise as well in a collaborative process.

We work with one project manager directly.

They were able to give us expert service at a good price.

We’ve spent $100,000–$150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2019. We started with a milestone-based contract and transferred them into our dedicated team. Our work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve been very happy with their performance. This team is very agile and quick to catch up to speed. Especially when COVID-19 hit, they worked hard to pivot my business model to include video functionality to accommodate virtual work.

How did Space-O Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet our deadlines about 70% of the time, which is expected since we’re always working on new things. Sometimes these new solutions can take a bit longer. Initially, we had some communication issues with our timelines; over time, we came to a good understanding of how to communicate our expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very reliable. In the past, other vendors would disappear after working together for three months. Space-O Technologies provides consistent performance. It’s especially impressive since we have several integrated platforms.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Initially, I was frustrated with their communication style. We’d approach deadlines and they wouldn’t even have a real update for me. We’ve since been able to fix that expectations gap.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to take time to learn the team and have faith in them. I was skeptical at first, but they delivered.

We wanted a functional, high quality dating app produced in 6-8 weeks.

We had a number of consultations with the team. Once we agreed on the scope of the project, we were allocated a project manager. Our project manager was superb.

He had integrity, he communicated very well and he always made sure I was happy with how things were going. I couldn’t have dreamt of having a better person to work with on this project.

Initially we were assigned a project manager but I know he was communicating with a number of developers and QA testers.

Despite having a short deadline, our app was delivered on time. The app is now in both iOS and Android stores and it works very well. I have also been given support for any problems that may arise.

The project manager was excellent. We spoke nearly everyday. His communication was fantastic.

Everything. They were professional, they communicate really well, manage your expectations and the product is high quality

Juvi is an Istanbul based start-up business. Our aim is to provide kids safe, educative and age related YouTube experience within our mobile application. I'm the founder of this project.

3 years ago, as a single entrepreneur with zero technical background about mobile development, i came up with an idea to build a mobile business and needed to work with an experienced team.

With several Skype calls i had interviewed with around 25 mobile development company and shared my business plan with them. My expectations were to build native mobile apps for IOS & Android platforms which can work on both phones and tablets.

A back-end that i can manage business, but most importantly a technical partner to guide me on every aspect of the project.

Main goal is to work with a company which can guide me with a good communication and share their expertise. Second, build a solid and scalable mobile business that i can manage with a small team. As its a project from an idea, main goal is to create the product and publish on market.

As a non-technical entrepreneur I had contacted with several freelancers, agencies and companies first on Upwork platform. Later on, i have discovered Clutch and that was a perfect timing for an entrepreneur like me.

I reviewed and get in touch with around 25 companies from India, Ukraine, USA and share my project details with them. Space-O Technologies were on the shortlist with other 2 Indian companies.

For final decision, their expertise about streaming business, their friendly approach, relationship builded on trust, and most of all their cooperative behaviour to scale project around my budget were most important criteria for me.

Project is to build a mobile app business to serve kids around 1-8 ages as a safe YouTube streaming app. Our app will be able to present pre-selected, human curated videos related to kids age.

With child development specialists on our team we are curating educative videos from YouTube and present them within our app via YouTube API. After kids birthdate setup, parents are selecting native languages that videos to be filtered and also supportive languages if desired.

Our app, Juvi, understand and shows only age appropriate content that we have evaluated before with child development specialists.

What was the team composition?

Space-O team is consisting of 1 project manager, 2 android developers, 2 ios developers, 1 backend developer, 1 QA analyst. Size of the team and project managers have changed for those 3 years of period but work output stayed same.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I'm working with Space-O team for nearly 3 years. We have developed 2 versions of app during that time. First version which was mainly a MVP delivered to market successfully and that version made me to collaborate with other businesses and accelerators. 

With second phase of Juvi, I'm working with Space-O team to build version 2 which is going to become a successful product in close future.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow is outstanding. My project manager Rushit Kapadia is working flawlessly to build a robust product and realize expectations come to life.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their communication skills and friendly bahviour is impressive. Both Space-O and my project manager Rushit is doing their best to fit my conditions. We are simply working as a team.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Time management is the only area that can be improved. Sometimes project deadlines are extending, but this is also related with the budget and the workforce that i can understand.

Our Start-up IT Company was founded in 2018 especially for building up and launch an Application for a proximity chatting. I’m Co-founder and CBO and I manage our daily operations and our partnerships with business service providers.

We knew how the project should look like, so we did complete description for the main App functionalities. SpaceO created SOW (scope of work) together with estimation.

After few modifications, we have started with a developing phase. At the beginning we asked for MVP only and after 6 months they successfully delivered it. Next phase was to get full App version, so after new scope of work, we have continued with cooperation until we get delivered requested product.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Together with our testing users we have managed to improve an upgraded our MVP and increased customer satisfaction. We’ve also built a trusting relationship with the team at Space-O Technologies.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

At the beginning of our cooperation, we would need some time to adopt our and their team to work like one. After while, our cooperation was fully established, we have worked well together and we have been able to complete everything on time. Their team has been open in their communication, and they have become like an in-house developers.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We are very glad that they are offering us non-stop support, they have short feedback periods, high level of professionalism and willingness to hear the customer needs.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They are team of professionals and there is no much I would like to see to be improved by them. We are more than thankful for everyone we have worked with, including NImish, Jingesh, Sagar and others.

My company is a sole proprietorship that's focused on this Reposit app. The app is a documentation tool to help landlords and tenants work better together and streamline the security deposit process. It does this by creating full reports that document the full state of your rental that both parties can use.

I used Space-O to do all of the wireframing and development of the app.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the project was to have an app on both the Apple and Google app stores. The app needed to be able to be used by both parties and generate working reports that had good content as well as look good.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I initially found them just from searching online, but the first phase of this project was just to do the wireframes for the app and so that served as somewhat of a trial run for the main project as well.

The project was the creation of a full app from wireframe to release on the app store. I came in with the ideas and requirements and they took that and translated that into the full creation.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project created the business. Without it, there would be no product to sell!

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I had a main point of contact who did all of the requirements gathering and overall project management coordination. It worked very well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The thing that was the most impressive for me was that they weren't just blindly following directions. There were multiple times when I came in with an idea that they then made suggestions on to improve it or helped me rework it to flow better in the overall app.

Having informed and intelligent opinions made the experience better and the overall product output was improved.

Are there any areas for improvement?

None. It was a great project top to bottom.

I Work for the City of Greeley Water and Sewer Department, as the Water Conservation Specialist. Among my duties, I provide free water audits of both indoor and irrigation systems.

For what projects/services did your company hire Space-O Technologies?

To perform the irrigation audits we had a specialized excel spreadsheet that would produce a printed customer report after being saved. It required us to use paper forms in the field and then return in the evening and manually transfer the same data to the spreadsheet, as the spreadsheet was way to large to operate on a tablet. It was a time consuming and cumbersome way of doing things.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted an app that can produce the same customer audit form but be completely filled out and finished while on site during the audit.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After a lot of research online, I settled with Space-O due to the reviews and the fact that their site claimed that conversion of excel spreadsheets to apps was a specialty (which it is).

Describe the project in detail.

The original excel spreadsheet was way to large a program to use in the field, nothing we tried could run it. Not only did I require something that would eliminate the need for paper forms and excess data entry, but something that would flow in the same manor as I perform the audits so I didn't need to move back and forth through the app as I recorded information.

I also wanted the ability to create a custom watering schedule based off of measurements and observations so I could program customers irrigation controllers during the audits.

What was the team composition?

After discussing the project outline and requirements with the sales rep and agreeing to the cost estimate and contract, I was assigned a group to build the app, lead by Kunal Mehta. Kunal was my contact through the entire build and finalization process.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app operates and flows exactly as I had hoped! Saving many man hours and waste through simply using this app as apposed to how things were previously done.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

There was a little confusion at first, understandably, nobody on the build team at Space-O was familiar with what an irrigation audit is or how it is performed. They merely had a spreadsheet with formulas that needed to transferred.

I am unable to use Skype at the office and Kunal and myself spoke a couple of times over the phone. Kunal recommended sending screen shots as a way to communicate issues that needed to be addressed. I used screen shots with Adobe Acrobat to point and show exact issues and things really started moving forward then!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They did everything I asked of them and provided the exact product I was looking for. They did all of this after starting out with no idea of my processes or what it is I do, and with a broken half working spreadsheet!

Are there any areas for improvement?

NO!, Although, I intentionally left the project open ended. It is my desire to see this app adapted by other municipalities along the Front Range of Colorado in order to Standardize and streamline the audit process. That will require some adjustability and customizing of the app to be suitable for use by every entity.

We wanted an app that is easy to use, with first-class UI/UX. We also needed our platform to be available for download on Android and iOS devices.

We released a tender to a select number of companies based on reviews and advice from colleagues. Eventually, we connected with Space-O Technologies, and spoke with NP (Delivery Head, Space-O Technologies). We were struck by the patience and diligence he showed while listening to us describe our project. We began our partnership with them soon after.

After gathering our requirements, their team made initial designs and then built out the UI/UX of the app. They’ve implemented many useful features, including a video player. Versions for both iOS and Android devices have been created and launched.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’ve tested the product with end users and clients, and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback. People have been pleased with the app's advanced functionality and intuitive design.

We’ve also built a trusting relationship with the team at Space-O Technologies. We’re planning to award them another project that will cost upwards of $100,000.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our teams have worked well together, and we’ve been able to complete everything on time. NP, our project manager, is very knowledgeable, and has expertly guided the development process. Their team has been open in their communication, and we’ve benefited from holding face-to-face meetings and bi-weekly team discussions. They’ve become like an in-house development group for us.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Unlike other vendors we’ve partnered with, Space-O Technologies truly puts our needs first. Their team is extremely collaborative and highly skilled, and they’ve delivered work that exceeds our expectations. This has been a brilliant partnership.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are none that I can think of, and I know their management team will continue to drive growth.
