Over the past ten years, I probably interacted with 10–11 people. I interacted with the owner of the company and we had a main project manager.

What is the status of this engagement?
They began work in November of 2009 and completed the initial project. We keep re-engaging their services over the years, although their most recent project ended in July 2020 and we’ve been in a lull period with them since then.

I am the president of NewMeet.com, a global online dating platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Solace Infotech?
We wanted to create a new, international brand using the same database, but we didn’t have the internal capabilities required to do all that we planned for our site. We needed to outsource some of our development needs.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
In the beginning, we tested various cross-platform development tools and weren’t happy with the results. I decided to restart the project from scratch using native development tools. I provided Solace with some screenshot examples of my expectations.
The team first started with the mobile application, then moved to the website. The system was complex, including comprehensive geolocation functionalities that display other relevant users in the same regional area.
In the past, we used PHP and MySQL, but Solace suggested we use CodeIgniter for the website and we followed their advice. The mobile app was developed for iOS using Swift and Android using Java.
What is the team composition?
The project manager was my main point of contact, but sometimes I interacted with developers for more technical concerns. I communicate with the founder and director of Solace for payment needs.
How did you come to work with Solace Infotech?
I found them on Elance and contracted them for a specific part of the site. After positive results with that engagement, we decided to continue to work with them.

Initially, we only communicated through email, but now we have a structured workflow through Basecamp. I got daily messages with updates or concerns. The team had an answer for every question I proposed, there was always a resource available.

They maintain an Excel sheet with weekly entries detailing every task and how long it took to complete. They consistently updated this throughout the partnership and I never lost confidence in their team. I hope that, as I continue to grow, we work together in the future.
