The project encompasses the design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of a secure cloud-based web and mobile application that digitizes operational processes for adult day programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The solution replaces paper-based documentation with a centralized digital platform that enables staff, supervisors, directors, administrators, and parents/guardians to efficiently manage participant information, service delivery, communication, compliance, and reporting.

98% project completion, with core platform development substantially finished and the application in the final testing and quality assurance phase.

Move from an estimated 60-70% completeness on paper binders to 100% enforced completion: a clock-out gate blocks shift end until all clients are departed, all medications logged, all daily reports filed, and no VAN or break is left open.

Delivered 101 MVP features across 3 platforms (Employee mobile, Parent mobile, Director web) plus a shared backend in a 6-week, $16.5K engagement — approximately $163 per shipped feature, executed through ~25 automated APEX sprints.

What impressed us most about Softermii was their strong cooperation and teamwork throughout the project. Are there any areas for improvement or something Softermii could have done differently?

Overall, we were very satisfied with Softermii's work. One area for improvement would be to reduce the number of revisions needed by delivering more polished, production-ready features earlier in the development cycle. As with most custom software projects, some functionality required revisions and bug fixes after testing, which occasionally extended the implementation timeline. While these issues were not major, addressing them more quickly and minimizing defects before delivery would have made the process even smoother. That said, Softermii consistently responded to reported issues, completed the necessary revisions, and remained committed to delivering a quality product. Their willingness to make improvements and ensure the application met our requirements was greatly appreciated.

The objective was to take the product from concept to a fully functional web application: a real-time net worth dashboard unifying personal and business assets across six asset categories (cash, stocks & ETFs, crypto, real estate, business equity, and alternatives), bank and investment account aggregation via Plaid, liability tracking, financial goals, and an insights layer.
Beyond the core build, the engagement covered the technical foundation for our AI features — including the data architecture supporting our Capital Efficiency Score engine and recommendation logic — plus authentication (Google OAuth), a premidarkode UI built to our design system, and production infrastructure on Google Cloud. Since we are currently in pre-launch, the measurable outcomes are delivery-based rather than commercial. The most important one is simply that the product exists and works: Softermii has taken us from concept to a fully functional platform, now live in production with a small group of beta testers.
Concretely, all core modules have been delivered and are operational — the net worth dashboard, asset and liability tracking across six categories, goals, and insights. The Plaid integration is live and reliably syncing bank and investment accounts. Google OAuth is approved and running in production. The app runs on production infrastructure on Google Cloud with the design system implemented consistently across every screen.
Another outcome I’d highlight is the quality of the codebase at handover — it’s been structured and documented well enough for our internal team to take over development without a rebuild, which has been a key success criterion for us from the start.

Softermii's UI/UX design work is so good that we're using it in our pitch deck to lure more investors. The team's deliverables have been extremely helpful in demonstrating the product and generating customer and investor interest. Overall, Softermii's work has been fantastic.

Softermii's team has been punctual with our timelines. Regarding tools, we've brought them into our Slack channel so they can stay within our internal company communications.

Alina has been fantastic; she's involved, communicative through constant meetings and feedback, and helpful through her designs, which have helped us raise more money for our company.

It has been helpful for us that Softermii's team has come in like an employee contractor, and it isn't as formalized. The team acts like a member of our team, which is interesting.

When working with an outsourcing company like this one, I recommend starting with small units of deliverables, figuring out where things go, and then working your way up.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of product development at a technology company. We provide technology to individuals incarcerated in state prisons in America. Due to security concerns, these individuals have limited access to various technology apps. Thus, we customize those apps so that they can be made available in a corrections and security environment.

Our core product is a communications app with the added component of an AI-powered moderation tool so that messages are monitored, moderated, and flagged. The same monitoring is applied to photos, voice notes, video messages, phone calls, and video calls.

What challenge were you trying to address with Softermii?

We were working with another company that was in charge of creating our technology. However, we ran into a lot of challenges with the code they were writing. Mainly, those challenges were caused by the management of the project and not necessarily by the developers who were writing the code.

At some point, we had to pivot and move out of that company. We brought some of the work in-house but also did some research to replace the company we were working with. We ultimately engaged with Softermii.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Softermii provides us with staff augmentation services. The resources we use from their team are primarily frontend React Native developers, but we’ve also required project management, design, and business analysis. We’ve also had assistance from a backend JavaScript developer.

For certain parts of the project, we’ve provided Softermii with wireframes and documentation. For other parts of the project, we’ve been lacking documentation, so they’ve had to write down our requirements during our calls.

We’ve also provided them with designs because the design is made in-house but handled by them. Still, Softermii’s designer has helped us present previews and wireframes for various parts of the project to see how the product is expected to interact with each element.

This product is primarily a mobile app for Android and iOS, but it also has a web component. This component is a web portal that has mainly been developed in-house. However, Softermii helped us with it for a period of time.

We’ve worked with up to 10 resources from Softermii, but it depends on the part of the project we’re focusing on. In addition to the developers, we’ve also worked with Anna (IT Project Manager), a designer, and a business analyst.

How did you come to work with Softermii?

I did some research and got in contact with Slava (Co-Founder & CEO). I was impressed by his technical knowledge, flexibility, and transparency. During our initial conversation, he was very transparent about how Softermii worked and their philosophy of being an extension of their clients instead of simply taking on their projects.

We’ve spent hundreds of thousands of dollars.

We initially engaged with Softermii at the end of 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve found working with Softermii to be very beneficial for us. The quality of their overall work is great. Although we’ve had challenges, we’ve been very happy with the way they work through those challenges.

Given that our in-house team and other consultants touch the same code, it’s hard to measure the quality of Softermii’s work in particular. Still, we measure success by looking at the frequency with which we release code, the types of bugs we release, and the problems we address during our feedback loops. Comparing those KPIs to when we were working with the other service provider, we’ve seen a significant improvement in our performance since working with Softermii.

How did Softermii perform from a project management standpoint?

Softermii has been very good at meeting deadlines. Any issues regarding meeting deadlines have been caused by factors out of their control. Still, they’ve been great at mitigating and resolving those issues with us. We use ClickUp for project management and Slack for communication.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Anna has done a great job at stepping in and managing the project to ensure we get app releases when we’re supposed to. She has also coordinated with the developers to ensure they’re well-informed of the challenges. Overall, she has brought tremendous value to the project.

Throughout the project, Slava has also been of tremendous help. Whenever we’ve had a challenge or a roadblock, he has always been there. He has been the main reason we’ve established a great partnership with Softermii.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Currently, Softermii’s most impressive skills are their project management, communication, dedication to the project, and ability to be flexible with their resources. We’ve used them for a range of their services, and one of the best value-adds of working with them is the fact that we can scale up or down the resources we need from their end very flexibly and quickly.

Softermii is also flexible with their hours. Whenever we have an urgent deadline, they put in late hours and work diligently to make up ground and meet that deadline.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Our biggest challenges have been the language barrier and the time difference between our teams. At certain stages, there have been resources from Softermii that don’t speak English well. However, those aren’t things that can be changed by simple challenges we’ve run into.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to have a very good project manager. Ensure they’re someone you like, understand, and can work with because it’ll make a great difference on the project. The project manager will take care of the project during the hours you’re not involved.

I needed help developing the game based on my idea.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Softermii has developed my game from the ground up. Initially, I shared my idea with them, and they got it immediately, so they started the development and implementation process. Ultimately, they produced two mobile apps for me: one for the App Store and one for Google Play.

Currently, Softermii is working on creating extra features for the app and going through a testing process. They’re also creating a web version of the game, which hopefully will be finished in February 2024. In the meantime, I’m setting up a corporation to launch the game officially. Basically, we’re in the final stages of the project.

This game is a real horse racing simulator, but the speed of the horses depends on the stock market, the crypto market, and the foreign exchange market, taking the fluctuation rates as the speed. Therefore, users can bet on these horses.

What is the team composition?

We have a dedicated development team from Softermii working on this project. Currently, this team has 12 developers, but we’ve worked with as many resources as needed, depending on the stage of the project. I’ve also worked with Andrii and Slava (Co-Founders).

How did you come to work with Softermii?

A friend of mine recommended them. Before working with Softermii, I worked with another company and lost two years and a lot of money. Then, I decided to move my idea from that company to Softermii.

How much have you invested with them?

Softermii charges hourly rates for the resources allocated to the project. I’ve spent $1.5 million thus far. Additionally, I’ve given them 7% of my company’s shares as a bonus so that they can work with me as partners. Giving them a part of my company has made me feel secure from a technical point of view.

How did Softermii perform from a project management standpoint?

Softermii offers high-level project management and delivers great weekly reports. I’m in very direct contact with both the project manager and Andrii, so we work together as a family.

Softermii is also very flexible. For example, now that we’re working on the web app version, they’ve allocated an additional team member to the project. Moreover, they deliver on time and on budget and always try to make me spend less money if possible. We communicate via phone almost daily, and we share official documents via email.

Andrii (Co-Founder) is a genius. He’s a great architect and developer and has been the key resource on the project. Additionally, he offers a high level of communication to make his clients happy.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everything has gone perfectly. Softermii is very professional, and I’m very happy with them. Still, the most impressive thing about them is that they’ve found a way to develop this game. Nothing similar in the market exists, so they’ve had to solve different challenges and have suggested different ways to move the project in the right direction.

I’m the co-founder and president of Digital Joy; we are a media tech service with completely cloud-native SaaS solutions. We help companies create and manage content, add meta-data, and prepare content to be sent to digital platforms and published.

The software that Softermii created has helped us save between 400–500 hours and allows our internal team to work on other projects. The work met our expectations, and we plan on engaging with them again. 

How did Softermii perform from a project management standpoint?

They kept reporting weekly to ensure we knew where they were in the development process. Softermii was highly communicative, and when we did run into an issue, they worked through those issues in an organized way. When we found bugs during the implementation phase, they fixed them and ensured they handed over clean code. Everything was delivered on time and within budget. We communicated via email and Zoom. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team was highly professional and accommodating throughout the engagement. Softermii asked questions that allowed us to do a deep dive to determine what we needed. They also proposed helpful solutions. We found their media expertise to be very impressive. We appreciated how easy it was to work with Softermii.

The more precise you can be on your requirements, the more satisfied you’ll be at the end of the day. Ensure you’re also happy about what they build during the user acceptance testing (UAT) phase.

For what projects/services did your company hire Softermii, and what were your goals?

Our team has decided to solve a problem with a lack of legacy banking infrastructure that has left nearly 2 billion people without access to basic financial services. There was a clear need to create a mobile and web fintech banking solution with secure and reliable access to all the needed financial services. Thus, we needed to build a compelling and easy-to-use mobile and web app with a seamless payment management system.

The main idea was to create a solution with secure P2P money transfers, wallet card list, live chat and fraud detection features. We wanted the Softermii team to develop an intuitive, highly secured fintech solution with scalable software architecture, cashback feature integration, and supporting ATM third-party vendors.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found the Softermii team through thorough online search in LinkedIn and Google. We were looking for an experienced development team with expertise in fintech and banking solutions. We checked reviews on Clutch, looked through their website and portfolio, and contacted their representative. We;ve made our decision based on the fact that the company has broad experience in developing secured fintech products.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

• Together with Softermii’s development team, we’ve come up with a very easy user authentication, yet it is highly secured by eKYC integration that made the application fraud-proof
• Softermii design team made the app as user-friendly and easy-to-use as possible while creating a modern-looking, highly accessible and intuitive interface
• One of the main goals was to create an opportunity to add cards lists to the mobile Wallet. This would allow users to provide their payments quickly and easily
• Softermii team came up with an idea to add the live chat feature so that users would have the possibility to address money operation support any time they needed it
• The main feature of the app is a secure, easy-to-use and immediate P2P money transfer that can be made in just several clicks.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We’ve been working with 12 specialists. The core team behind the project was Delivery Manager and one Project Management who were responsible for communication between the client and the team and smooth working projects with on-time quality delivery.

There were four software engineers behind software development – iOS, Android , front-end and back-end to create a flawless architecture of the whole project.

Two designers conducted user interviews to shape the app in the best possible user-friendly way. QA engineers ran multiple tests to find every possible breach in the security of the app and remove it. Also, DevOps developer made sure the team followed the secure practices and covered all aspects of protecting a solution’s assets.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Even though the project is still ongoing, we’ve managed to achieve 4000 downloads in the first three month after the primary launch of the app. There have been 1 350 000 money transfers making it 4.1 average transfers made by a single customer a day.

Softermii team is very determined to give their maximum effort while working on the project. We do appreciate their dedication, on-time delivery and broad experience in the fintech team which they are eager to share with our team.

We’ve achieved our goal and are still working with the team to improve our solution, so there’s nothing we would have done differently.
