We contracted Softengi to build our E-commerce Multivendor Marketplace to include the following deliverables:

A robust front-end with a user-friendly interface for customers and vendors

A secure and seamless checkout process with multiple payment options.

A vendor registration and onboarding process, product listing and management.

A comprehensive Admin-Marketplace dashboard for vendor and customer management.

A comprehensive back-end for admin

An integrated system for order, shipping, and inventory management (WMS).

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Milestones and deliverables.

We have been working with Softengi on 3 of our projects. The building of our App which was the first project went smoothly and successfully because we had a wonderful Product Owner/Business Analyst, Mikhailo who was a great liaison between our Business and the Dev team. Our experience with his work ethics encouraged us to continue our working relationship with Softengi.

Unfortunately, with our second project (E-commerce platform), a different team was moved in and Mikhailo was moved to another department. The Project Manager, Denis remained the same and he has become our major nightmare. We have had numerous disagreements and arguments about estimates, timeline and deliverables. He never holds the dev team responsible for jobs poorly done. Instead of holding himself or the team accountable, he blames the Client and comes back to bill the Client with claims that they underestimated. They are always billing above the estimates and many times give bloated estimates that are unwarranted. He resorts to manipulative tactics. He is very disgruntled about making sure scope requirements are clear and properly defined, making sure there is proper documentation, peer review, quality control etc basically, things that are normal standard practice. Denis and his team deliberately withhold necessary information that we need to know; they give us white lies or half truths and cover up important information so as to cover up for the team and also have room for more milking. All these have been very stressful for us as a company and we are exhausted after numerous incidences.

We have reached out to the higher ups but unfortunately, they do nothing about things. All Softengi cares about is making as much money as possible at the expense of delivering properly developed and fully working deliverables to the Client.

For our 3rd project (warehouse fulfillment center) which is also at Softengi but with another department, we already completed the Discovery Phase and it is pending Development. We are not sure how this is going to go since we had a very bad experience developing project 2.

A company is only as good as its employees. If you are considering using Softengi, I recommend you think twice. You can probably request for certain personnel but I doubt it will be granted since people like Denis is a director at Softengi and the higher ups don’t really care.

They never hold their staff responsible. Higher ups are unresponsive and are always looking for ways they can make money from your complaints. The developers don't build the features properly and lacks proper QA test which as a result features are bug-filled. Bugs are often treated as new tasks that you have to pay for.

Improve project management approach. They should improve their whole approach of how they arrive at their estimates, improve their QA approach, adequately define scope and requirements, hold their staff accountable and take responsibility for projects poorly delivered instead of just focusing on how much money they want to make.

I am a co-founder and a Head of Product of 4ComfortShoes. The created application is essentially a kind of aggregator of shoe models. It is very easy to use, the user just needs to put their foot on a blank sheet and point the camera at it.

As a result, we get a 3D model of the foot formed from the images (this was created without lengthy development from scratch, but using a ready-made tool from a professional institute of anthropology that specializes in this). Based on this data, the program will calculate the size and help you choose the most comfortable pair.

We addressed Softengi in order to create an AR-powered mobile app for the selection of comfortable shoes. This app which is also an online service would take into account the individual characteristics of the consumer's foot and offer the best solution. The Softengi team was responsible for backend, front-end development, design, and QA.

We chose Softengi on the basis of ratings and recommendations of other companies.

First, we created specifications for the AR-powered app together with the Softengi business analysts. We worked using Scrum methodology and divided the whole project into sprints. After each sprint, we received certain results and discussed the progress. QA testing was a long and exhausting process but we managed to create a bug-free application.

Our application is already available for users and is widely utilized by retailers. It reduces online shoe returns, increases online sales, tailors shoes to the target segment, and finally speeds up the sale of illiquid items.

The working process was very fruitful and professional. The team completed the work within the agreed timeframe and considered our wishes into account as much as possible.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

All tasks were solved promptly and efficiently. And the solution to our problem, proposed by the company, completely satisfied us. At the same time, the atmosphere was friendly and pleasant.

our result was to obtain an interface that can working well on desktop and mobile. They provide us this result! they checked many different scenario, provided a lofi and hifi prototypes, clickable prototypes to obtain the final goal. Our client and investor are really satisfy from the final result.

They are really skilled at UI/UX design. The final result is really impressive.

We hired Softengi to develop a Unified Complex Monitoring and Forecasting System, which would allow to monitor hazards, perform high-quality research, and collaborate more closely with various institutions.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goal was to create a joint platform for collaboration with various geo monitoring and forecasting tools on par with a public information portal, which would provide the public and authorities with information about potentially dangerous natural and technogenic processes in Kyrgyzstan.

Softengi developed a web portal solution, which provides information about potentially hazardous natural processes and environmental risks, assesses complex and potentially dangerous situations, and intensifies cooperation of national authorities in managing natural hazards.

The web platform solution is a kind of information space, divided into two blocks, one for the public use, the other one can only be accessed by authorized users, namely, various specialized organizations, authorities, and research institutions. The public information portal is used to inform the general public about dangerous natural processes and emergencies.

The portal is available for all users and contains information generated by ESCMP members. The information platform manages the whole information flow, analyzing the incoming data and providing on that basis accurate forecasts. Only authorized users have access to this block, the solution is available on any device via a web browser.

The information platform includes real-time maps that show the locations of hazardous processes, forecasting tools, data management systems, and advanced analytics and visualisations.

The team consisted of the solution architect, a project manager, a business analyst, software developers, and a quality assurance specialist.

The Softengi team has shown a high ability to respond to project changes. They deliver results on time and develop a technically very complex product taking into account all our requirements.

Each year the platform and associated services have typical feature enhancements and maintenance work needed to meet the needs of existing customers and the market. Softengi does the bulk of the engineering to meet near-monthly releases to the production SaaS environment. Softengi also regularly provides insight and recommendations for optimizations and improvements to help manage data and traffic scale that commonly make it to the backlog and into the product(s).

What was the team composition?

During 2020 we leveraged a team of over 30 people from Softengi. This consisted of 20 developers, 10 QA, and couple project managers. Additionally, there was a process manager to help things work smoothly between the onshore and offshore resources and tooling. Onshore product management and project management worked with Softengi staff via agile methodologies for daily progress just like regular staff.

Our initial scope of work focused on two new major modules for our software platform. The work entailed deep integration with Dynamics 365 using .NET and React JS.

Our team has scaled up and down as project workload and budget allowed from a peak of 3 full time engineers and 1 full time project managers to 2 full time engineers and a half time project manager.

We've managed to deliver initial versions of both new major modules in a period of less than 10 months. Our customer's love the user friendliness of the new interfaces.

We have implemented Agile/SCRUM for our projects with them and have daily standups along with using Jira to track progress. Our project manager has been instrumental on keeping things organized, communicating issues/obstacles and pulling in additional expertise where needed.

Despite the 10 hour time zone difference between our locations, our teams have really been able to form a great spirit of teamwork and collaboration. They are available at all hours of the day and weekends if we have an important issue to resolve or deadline to meet.

As always, we are constantly improving as a team and providing feedback on areas we think we can do better on. Softengi has been very receptive to that feedback.

Softengi developed MVP of the product from scratch according to the initial agreement. After MVP was finished, the company continued working with Softengi on bug fixes and fixing flaws. Later, we switched to a different developer.

Softengi often missed deadlines. After project manager was assigned by Softengi, communication has improved greatly, however, there were problems in the performance of the said project manager.
