We have been working with SmartSites for approximately 6 months to improve our SEO ranking. SmartSites has created SEO focused blog posts for our websites, added backlinks on many local & nationwide directories as well as architectural focused websites.

So far our SEO rank has moved up 2 places for our preferred keyword & we have noticed a larger influx of visitors to our website from this rank increase & the backlinks created.

Our project manager, Anastasiia has been a great resource along this journey. She has gone above and beyond and even helped us when we were having an issue with our website deploying new changes - something she certainly could have said was outside of SmartSites' scope. It is such a relief to finally have a reliable partner for SEO that can help us achieve our goals!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We have been using SmartSites for about six months and are thrilled with the service and results so far! We recently deployed a new website and our SEO rankings dropped significantly. After careful consideration we decided to partner with SmartSites and do not regret it! 

In just a short amount of time with SmartSites we have already moved up 2 ranks for our preferred keyword, something previous SEO companies told us would take much longer to achieve. What is the most impressive about them is the accessibility of our project manager, the quality of deliverables & how they are able to self manage the project with little work necessary on my end (something that was not the case with our previous SEO company).

I entered a 12 month contract with Smartsites for 40 hours per month of SEO work to be performed and paid $600 per month for PPC work for $1500 monthly ad budget to be managed. The contract started in August. I had a brand new website developed by another firm that ranked an 85 with Google when transitioned to Smartsites. They were to improve the performance of my website and ranking on Google. My industry is a hot market and in high demand across the country.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There are agreed upon monthly deliverables signed off on by Smartsites and the client before at the beginning of the contract for the first few months. It was my expectation that Smartsites perform 40 hours of work and deliver all of the deliverable on time within the month assigned with high quality work that met my satisfaction by the end of the month. 

The PPC was to be managed by an assigned representative and proactively managed to attract prospective clients and make adjustments when there were lags or campaigns appeared unsuccessful.

Smartsites failed to deliver from the beginning and failed miserably repeatedly for three months on SEO, PPC and management of my website. Smartsites was to perform an audit and improve the performance of my website from the 85 score they gave me when joining. 

After 2 months, I had the score run by several other companies, which at best was running at 65. I shared with the Chief Client Officer in the 2nd month and then in the 3rd month and no changes were made. The deliverables we agreed upon in month 2 were not delivered upon until the last day of month 3, and the draft received at the end of month 3 were presented like a middle school paper quality document and had to be requested to be redone. 

The PPC representative indicated each time he met with me he was so busy, which was evident, because my campaigns were not making much traction in a very busy marketplace and getting little to no attention from him. I question his level of experience and capability as well. I expressed concern about the capability and/or attention of both my SEO project manager and PPC representative to the Chief Client Officer several times before being reassigned. 


It was an abysmal failure of a relationship. I had spent $8000 with Smartsites and many more in Google ad spend as a start up business almost no business to show for it. I had a lot of frustration and anxiety building trying to work with the team at Smartsites as I found those I mention very passive and difficult to work with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Absolutely nothing. The Chief Client Officer offered to return all of my money because she realized they failed to deliver on their commitments and I was a very unhappy client. I had lots of emails and tracking documents we agreed to where they had failed to deliver. I also had third party documents indicating my website was performing worse than when I joined Smartsites even after I gave them notice and 30 days to cure the problem and they did nothing to improve the situation.

Are there any areas for improvement or something SmartSites could have done differently?

Even after they offered to return all of my money, they reneged on the offer and threatened me with legal action and sending me to collections if I did not sign an NDA. I had to dispute the charges through my bank and I won my case with all the documentation I had as evidence they did not perform the duties per the contract and they offered to return my money in writing. 

They did not want me to have the right to free speech and to be able to send an honest review and ruin their 5-star record. I believe the reason they have so few poor ratings is because this is their tactic. They call it the "amicable separation". I have in writing that I was given an exception from this practice. 

So, everyone needs to be made aware, that the 5-star record you are seeing is likely inflated by all those who get bought out with the amicable separation buyout to get their money back. I do not recommend signing with this company. The contract has heavy legal language that protects the rights of Smartsites and gives you little to no rights to protect yourself. So this is your warning. Choose another company.
