BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the curator, content planning team lead, and project lead for TOY CON SEOUL at Urban Complex. We’re a creative event and content company that plans and operates URBAN BREAK and TOY CON SEOUL. We also discover artists and original IPs and develop them into exhibitions, collaborations, and collectible-based business opportunities.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with SlabPixel?

We wanted to create a BI and brand mood that would feel like a global event from a Korean perspective while still conveying a distinctly Korean sensibility to international audiences.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SlabPixel has been responsible for developing our BI guide, On-site event graphics, promotional animations, and social media upload frames. They’re also overseeing the overall website design. SlabPixel leads the design development and production, while we provide detailed direction and feedback on each deliverable.

What is the team composition?

We work with 2–5 teammates from SlabPixel.

How did you come to work with SlabPixel?

We found them through an online search. Their pricing fit our budget, and their graphic design sensibility was highly compatible with the overall direction of our event planning.

We’ve spent a confidential amount.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2025 to May 2026.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The measurable outcomes are the speed of delivery, the accuracy with which SlabPixel incorporates our feedback, and the consistent development of the work in line with our intended direction. For example, they quickly turn around revisions after receiving our feedback. Their responses are fast, their interpretation of our comments is accurate, and the updated outputs remain closely aligned with the visual and branding direction we set from the beginning.We don’t have formal numerical KPIs recorded for the project, but there are clear operational improvements. The revision rounds are relatively limited because SlabPixel responds quickly and reflects feedback accurately, which reduces unnecessary back-and-forth. Their fast turnaround also helps us keep the schedule moving efficiently, and the outputs stay closely aligned with our intended direction from an early stage. As a result, internal reviews are smoother, and overall stakeholder confidence in the process is strong.

How did SlabPixel perform from a project management standpoint?

SlabPixel’s project managers maintain clear and effective communication throughout the project. We only have one online meeting and manage the rest through email and chat. The process is very smooth with no inconvenience at all. Since the time difference is only about two hours, it’s very easy to work with them from Korea.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The designers are very good at turning our requests into creative and well-developed outcomes.
