After a personal conversation with the CEO about Zoom, we had a very good impression to start our project with the company.

after we exchanged all the requirements, the company independently defined the goals and created layout examples. these were according to our ideas, so that we expressed our complete trust in the company. We were not disappointed as they implemented all changes as quickly as possible!

our contact person was always the managing director. he communicated the discussed topics to his team.

we have a visually beautiful and modern platform. we have also had this tested by external companies and no errors were found. the logic in the functionality is also excellent.

It was always very polite and professional. we all had fun together on the project. communication was often via skype (writing and video calls)

we have received very good work for a good price and we are very happy to have met such nice people

I’m the IT Director for Media-i. We’re a mobile development company that works with bespoke applications on iOS, Android, and sometimes Windows. We write everything Natively for mobile platforms and deliver to small businesses, large, and some PLCs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Skywave Infotech?

They had some coding services which were particularly useful in certain languages which allowed us to build a language management system.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

That system works across all sorts of devices – tablets, desktop, to mobile. They did data integration and helped us get it working the right way. They had a unique skill set. After a small test, we commissioned the project.

Some of the features were reporting. We have 1,400 users in the education system, and every course they do has to be tested, and then that data has to be put into a report. That report gets sent to the managers every Monday. They made sure all that data was sent, accessible, and was in an easy-to-read format.

The other challenges were video features that had to use a streaming server to enable video learning. Some other features have added robustness and debugging. They worked in CakePHP mainly, JavaScript, and MySQL. Most of these aren’t used in Native app development, but everything had to have a web-centric approach, so they proved to be quite reliable.

What is the team composition?

Normally, we work with three people: the developer, the project manager, and the IT director.

How did you come to work with Skywave Infotech?

They were recommended by a good colleague who’d used their services before. They passed our test, and we had a gut feeling about them. Communication was also important, as we programming costs and reliability.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $30,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since August 2019. Video was the latest feature we implemented.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their performance is measured in the end-product and the process. We don’t push anything out before it’s tested, and they go through an iterative process with us throughout the product development – not just at the end. If something’s not quite right, they fix it, which is important to us.

How did Skywave Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re excellent. They listen very well and have excellent communication skills. They also have a good grasp of the technology.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s their ability to take a project and work with us in a way that allows us to be successful. Their technical expertise is good, and they listen. We didn’t always get everything right, but they’re willing to revise and get it right. That combination was quite good for us. Sometimes, we don’t know how something might look or feel in the application when we see it as wireframes or a series of storyboards. If it doesn’t feel right, or if there are issues with the UI, we need to change it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They weren’t always the fastest, but, for every project, we’re not quite sure how much time it’ll use up. They’re a small outfit, so it’s not something we’d ask them to rush either because we know the quality will be good at the end.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you give a full specification first and have an idea of the UI.

They are an essential key to the successful launch and ongoing servicing of the needs of our users. With their help, we've maintained a 4+ rating on every app store we are listed in and service the needs of over 20k users.

We use Jira to keep track of tickets. At times, we've had standing calls each day/ week with the team at Skywave.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their professionalism and honesty set them apart. They provide reliable estimates and do what they say they are going to do. If there is an issue, then they let me know.
