Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Silver River was brought in to deliver Python development, Claude API integration, database setup, and dashboard architecture for a platform-first operations dashboard with modular, extensible automation capabilities. It was also the contracted development partner for the CurrentPulse MVP, the European energy market intelligence platform. Their core deliverable is the text-to-SQL AI query layer that lets users ask natural-language questions of the energy database, alongside ENTSO-E data integration, the chat frontend, standard visualisations, and chat-to-map routing for geographic queries. The work is structured across defined milestones, each gated by an acceptance-testing window, with IP transferring to CurrentWorks and source code delivered continuously via GitHub. Everything was delivered on time.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
A working MVP was delivered and deployed, with the text-to-SQL AI layer meeting the agreed-upon accuracy threshold for the defined acceptance test cases. Acceptance testing was completed across milestones, surfacing specific, addressable failure modes (structured-output rendering on factual queries and chat-to-map routing on geographic queries) that fed directly into the next development cycle. Persona-based validation produced clear performance signals: strategy consultancies scored highest because the platform's outputs mapped directly to their client deliverable formats, while gaps in gas-TSO and adequacy coverage were quantified and prioritised. A structured beta-feedback phase generated actionable insight, most notably identifying positioning as the key issue to resolve. Building on the validated MVP, a post-MVP sprint then restored sixteen previously de-scoped deliverables, expanding geographic and data coverage and demonstrating momentum beyond the original engagement. The build was solid and well-structured, with continuous source-code delivery giving us full transparency at every stage. Where acceptance testing surfaced issues, they were resolved constructively rather than becoming points of friction. A reliable, professional partner throughout. Silver River delivered the CurrentPulse MVP to spec, communicated openly, and behaved like a genuine collaborator rather than a transactional vendor, which is why we have continued working with them beyond the original engagement.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Silver River ran the engagement with a clear, milestone-based structure, delivering work in defined stages each gated by a formal acceptance-testing window that gave us genuine visibility and control throughout. They maintained continuous source-code delivery via a shared GitHub repository, which meant progress was transparent in real time rather than disclosed only at hand-off points, a meaningful signal of disciplined, low-risk delivery. The core MVP was delivered and deployed, and where acceptance testing surfaced specific issues, such as structured-output rendering and chat-to-map routing, these were identified collaboratively and channelled constructively into the next cycle rather than becoming points of friction. Their responsiveness was strong: communications were handled bilingually (Spanish for commercial matters, English for technical documentation), and they engaged well with detailed technical specifications, which helped close ambiguities early and kept scope and expectations aligned. Overall, they operated as a credible, professional partner, communicative, structured, and pragmatic, and the relationship has been collaborative enough that we have continued working with them on subsequent development beyond the original MVP. Work was delivered in clear, milestone-based stages, each gated by an acceptance-testing window. Progress was visible in real time, and the team kept the engagement moving steadily to plan. Good value for an MVP engagement. As with any early-stage build, scope evolved as the product took shape, and clearer cost visibility on the more complex components would have made the value picture even stronger.
What was your primary form of communication with Silver River Software?
- Virtual Meeting

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What stood out most was the combination of technical honesty and disciplined delivery. Rather than overpromising, Silver River was candid about the genuine difficulty of building a high-accuracy text-to-SQL AI layer and set realistic, measurable targets we could hold them to, which built real trust. Their continuous source-code delivery via a shared repository was unusually transparent, giving us full visibility into progress at every stage instead of waiting for staged hand-offs. They were also notably comfortable operating bilingually and engaging deeply with detailed technical specifications, which made it easy to close ambiguities early and avoid the scope and cost surprises that often derail MVP builds. Above all, they behaved like a genuine partner rather than a transactional vendor, collaborative when issues arose and pragmatic in resolving them, which is why we have continued working with them well beyond the original engagement.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Silver River Software could have done differently?
Honestly, there is very little we would change, which is a reflection of how well the engagement was managed overall. If anything, the experience reinforced how much value comes from detailed upfront specification, and the smoothest parts of the project were those where requirements were defined most tightly at the outset. As the relationship matured, that shared rigour became second nature on both sides, which only strengthened delivery over time. Any minor refinements were the normal back-and-forth of an MVP build rather than shortcomings, and Silver River consistently responded to feedback constructively. The strongest endorsement is simply that we chose to continue working with them well beyond the original engagement. We would readily recommend them. Communicative, technically capable, and easy to work with bilingually, they are a partner we have been happy to continue building with.
