Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've seen a significant increase in year-over-year organic traffic visits. There’s also been a drastic improvement in year-over-year keyword rankings. Our site health is improving, and our performance matches that improvement.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between their team and ours is one of the reasons for the partnership’s success. Siege Media has adapted to our business model and unique use cases. They work with our affiliate, optimization, development, creative, and SEO teams. They even provide additional training to my SEO team members looking to expand their skills. They've been incredible in rallying all of their forces to help my team grow and perform.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I've heard horror stories about agencies completely taking over marketing programs, charging high prices, over-promising, and missing deadlines. However, there are never issues with Siege Media. They’re quick to help, and their flexibility and adaptability are key strengths. While they care about us personally, they truly care most about performance.

I believe that Siege Media is going to continue to improve with time. Overall, the quality of their content is top-notch.

We are a construction rental network with headquarters in Southern California. I'm the VP of marketing. We are an asset-light company with over 8,000 locations served and 2,000 suppliers.

We hired them to assist with high-quality content creation. We wanted to improve our search traffic through link building. We also hoped to grow out the brand.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They expanded our link building efforts and boosted our core products and ranking. We have about four core products in equipment, and they helped us rank in several associated keywords. They pruned underperforming blog posts and built a mix of link building assets and search-driven pieces.

They identified linkable content like educational content, surveys, and technology advancements to drive more traffic and better linking. We're a niche industry, so to stand out from our competitors, they also created content that included illustrations, photography, and animated content. All their contributions perform well.

I worked with a team of five, including the owner, a content marketing manager, a content marketing specialist, a graphic designer and art director, and an account manager. Everyone was in constant contact with me.

They delivered significant industry links and press coverage with their content. As the search-driven content ranked and brought in more organic traffic, we saw core rental page rankings improve across the board.

Their project management is great, and their communication is fantastic. They're always on point and are very collaborative. They stick to calendar plans and content road maps and are very detail-oriented. We're involved in their creative process, and they give us options to choose from. I love what they're doing.

Siege Media is all about quality. They make sure the content is readable, and they consistently recommend additional ideas outside of the scope of deliverables. The quality of work outperforms anyone else we've worked with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I'm still working with them, and I can't think of anything major they should improve. They could provide more focused content, but nothing they've done has ever been detrimental.

Be very upfront about your strategy, and come to the table with as much information as you can. They can help you, but it's important to come with your business and marketing strategies at the beginning.

I came across a blog post written by Ross (CEO, Siege Media) that illustrated how his team increased one of their client's organic reach by something like 1,000%. I was drawn to their formulaic approach and vast knowledge of how content performs online, which I felt could be applied to any business to produce similar results. I also shared that article with my team, and everyone was on board, so I reached out to Ross to put together a proposal.

Over the last two years, we've invested over $400,000.

We've been working with them since around January 2018 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to their efforts, our organic traffic has shot through the roof: organic traffic to our blog has increased 188% year over year and 1,600% in total as of this year. They've also helped increase traffic to our website, but organic traffic has been one of the highest converting traffic channels for us.

By looking into our Google Analytics, which is integrated with APIs like Clearbit to give us a more granular view of performance, we're able to see that almost all our traffic is now coming from our blog and resulting in conversions.

How did Siege Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been phenomenal to work with. I've worked with about four different agencies in the past and Siege Media is the most professional firm I've worked with by far. I never have to worry about anything; Katie and the team always delivers quality work on time. Everything is laid out and organized in advance, and the types of growth we see each month are predictable. The monthly reports they share with include just the right amount of detail for me to share with our CMO. In addition to their results-oriented approach, they also collaborate well with our internal content development team. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their expertise in content marketing and SEO sets them apart; they're incredibly rigorous and dedicated to their work. I have a great deal of confidence in their ability to deliver results that I can be proud of.

It's not just about traffic; the results they provide actually drive a lot of conversion and revenue for the company. Although we've invested a significant amount of money in their services, the ROI is probably close to ten times what we've spent. Our ability to track that has helped me continue to easily justify the premium we pay for their services.

I struggle to think of anything. They're so good at what they do that I wish they offered more services like PPC.

It will help if the company is able to provide internal, knowledgeable staff to help write content, especially if it's an industry with extremely domain-specific content. The collaborative nature of our relationship with Siege Media has been a huge factor in our success because it's hard to entirely outsource the type of content we need to produce.

The scope of our work with Siege Media goes all the way from initial content ideation to content promotion and reporting on results. We provide them with guidelines and goals for each content asset that include the core topic, target audience, what success looks like, and several other dimensions. From there, Siege's team scoped out content ideas and briefs that we provided feedback on. From there, Siege developed the content piece and gave us regular updates on progress and the opportunity to provide feedback.

After the content is finished, Siege passes it back to our team to publish and then we are "all systems go" on promoting the content piece. Siege does all the heavy lifting here and provides clear reporting on the performance of each content campaign. After the campaign is finished, my team will typically do some supplemental outreach and promotion on our end.

Siege Media is super easy to work with. We typically work over email and they are always clear and efficient with their messages and very responsive to feedback. Whenever we've suggested edits to our process or a piece of content, they've been very flexible and act in the best interest of our business strategy.

These guys just get it. They know how to produce effective content ranks, earns links, and is directly integrated with your business and target audience. These aren't your typical "viral" assets that a lot of other agencies produce - a lot of the work we've seen from Siege has staying power on our sites and provides consistent value and traffic month after month.

The turnaround time is long, but the quality we get is worth the wait. Siege also does a good job checking in with progress updates.
