I’m the co-founder of Tap a Tradie, an on-demand gig economy app for tradespeople and buyers.

What challenge were you trying to address with SHANTI INFOTECH?

I had a lack of app development experience and needed someone’s expertise.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our iOS and Android apps. There were four apps in total. They did everything from working on the wireframes through launch. After some testing, they discovered and fixed any bugs, and they’ve improved the functionality of the product. They’ve worked with me for the entire development process.

They also did the design. For example, they designed an icon for electricians. Users click-through, put their job details in, and then they can send it out. The product goes to one person or up to 100 electricians in their area, and they can just choose and review. They worked on the ease of use, the app’s flow, the tracking, and Google Maps APIs. Their team worked through the entire project to make it exactly how I wanted it from the start.

The product launched successful and is now live. Now it’s more of a maintenance contract. They’re also going to be helping me with a directory website that ties into the app. That involves building APIs to connect the website and the app.

What is the team composition?

There’s always a crew of 8-10 people. I deal directly with the CEO and the team leaders. I didn’t talk to the team directly, but they were involved on the calls.

I reviewed a lot of people on Upwork. SHANTI INFOTECH had the expertise in the areas that I needed work to be done. They put that expertise together to deliver the product I was after.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered above expectations. Users are blown away by the ease of use, convenience, and functionality. There have already been over 200 users within two weeks, without a marketing campaign.

The performance of the apps has been fantastic. We just make improvements to the workflow that we hadn’t thought about during the process when we get industry feedback. There’s been a massive uptick in feedback and downloads in Australia. Due to their experience, we were able to build a product that was all ready to go global rather than location-specific.

How did SHANTI INFOTECH perform from a project management standpoint?

The time difference and language barriers are not issues. There’re sometimes interpretation issues, but by the end of a phone call, it’s spot-on. I review the work and provide a detailed document with any changes. If there’s any follow-up or questions, we just do a quick Skype call. Outside of the planning stage and the wireframe, phone calls have been 10–15 minutes on Skype. It’s been very easy to communicate. They deliver on time and within budget. Their response time has been fantastic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They bring a full suite of expertise from the initial concept of developing the idea all the way through to the finished product. They have the ability to bring resources when they’re required. If I tried to do this in Australia, it’d be a nightmare.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since they’re a growing company, they definitely have their core people there that are experts. Since they are growing, they happened to be moving on a Friday while I was trying to get a hold of them. But that was one time, and I had no significant problems with them.

Shanti Infosoft LLP helped me build a dedicated software for a loan company. The solution allowed the client to manage loan requests, handle and execute approvals, and store documents associated with the loans.

I already had something built before Shanti Infosoft LLP came onboard, so they helped me upgrade some of the existing modules while also working on developing new functionalities and designing the software’s UI/UX.

The technologies we used included PHP, Laravel, and MySQL for the main database.
