I’m the founder and CTO of a health supplements company. We bring personalized nutrition at home by connecting recipes through our communications device in real-time.

We needed capable backend developers to enlarge the staff.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SevenPro provided us with backend development and support in the integration of our external APIs. We had a simple technological stack including Ruby on Rails, React Native, and a few connected with Android communications. In addition, we built our app using Heroku as a basic platform.

I worked mostly with Andrew (CCO) and Anna (COO).

How did you come to work with SevenPro?

They reached out to me through an inbound call and provided me with a proposal. We also had our senior Ruby on Rails developers validating different teams from different companies, but we decided to go with SevenPro.

We spent about $60,000.

We worked together from June 2020–June 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Andrew worked well. He didn’t count time and materials as specific deliverables, but he integrated them well with the team. He wasn’t the most senior developer, but everything was done correctly.

How did SevenPro perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication was good. We had weekly meetings and talked mostly through Slack, so there were plenty of possibilities to interact. Sometimes it wasn’t easy having a remote team, but the people from SevenPro were really good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I can only speak about Andrew right now, and I found him to be a very reliable person. There were a couple of instances where he worked on weekends just to finish something I knew was important. We really don’t have any complaints about their work — It was very exceptional.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Maybe they can approach sales a little bit differently, because they were kind of aggressive. However, it was probably cultural, and I didn’t really see it as a huge issue.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

One thing I would advise is for people to have patience when working with SevenPro. Additionally, be very clear and upfront about the requirements with them at the beginning.

We built an app to give our users access to our content.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SevenPro developed our app for Android and iOS as well as provided maintenance.

What is the team composition?

I only worked with a project manager from SevenPro. He took care of everything we needed. I also had a few initial calls with the CTO of the company to get the project started.

Someone in our organization put us in touch with someone who’d worked with Ukrainian companies. Then, that person put us in touch with SevenPro.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost was $7,000–$8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement was from November–December 2019. The project took about a month.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have any metrics in particular but we were very happy with SevenPro’s work. They did exactly what they said they would, in exactly the amount of time they estimated, and for a very good price. I estimate it would’ve cost us $50,000 somewhere else.

We did a lot of testing, and SevenPro did a very good job. We found and fixed some issues after the launch, but that’s to be expected. We had a small number of bugs overall. Based on my experience with other companies, the quality was excellent.

How did SevenPro perform from a project management standpoint?

They were responsive and good about fixing things. Our project manager was extremely helpful and professional. He was there to define exactly what we were going to do and give that over to the developers, and he did exactly that. It was very straightforward, without a lot of back and forth. The communication was mostly through email, and we had phone calls every few days.

We’re not talking about a very sophisticated app. They basically built an app that could host the content of our WordPress site, but they definitely impressed us from a management perspective.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated working with a professional company that wasn’t just a mom and pop operation. They did what they said they would, and it was just pleasant. Other companies we’ve worked with were much more hotheaded and all about the money. They would make sure that anything we added on was logged as an additional expense. SevenPro was very understanding and giving.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything right now. Their project manager speaks very good English, and communication was always clear. There was no language barrier.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’d tell them the same thing I’ve said here. I would and have recommended SevenPro.

I’m the R&D director of an advertising company.

What challenge were you trying to address with SevenPro?

We hired them to help with our main project, building an advertising monitoring system.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I designed and architected the system, and SevenPro developed it per my specifications. The system collects information from all the traffic sources we work with and puts them into a database. It enables our campaign managers to determine what campaigns they should spend more money on.

What is the team composition?

We worked with six people from SevenPro: two designers and four developers. They also helped us on the business side.

How did you come to work with SevenPro?

We did some research and interviewed a few companies from Belarus and Ukraine. One of our friends told us about SevenPro. We had a conversation and found them to be the most serious candidate. Many of the other companies I talked to sounded less reputable like they would change people during the project. SevenPro gave me the feeling that I could work with them and they wouldn’t do this.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $400,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with SevenPro around February 2018. We had a financial problem and stopped the collaboration in January 2020. We’re continuing development with a few internal developers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SevenPro’s work has improved our advertising performance and capabilities. They’re a good company with qualified engineers. It was very important for them to provide us quality people, and they even reassigned one of the developers we interviewed initially because they felt he wasn’t up to standard. All the people I worked with were very good.

I’ve happily referred SevenPro to other people, and I plan to go to them again if we get the budget.

How did SevenPro perform from a project management standpoint?

They brought any potential issues or delays to our attention immediately. They were very good in terms of project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was looking for a professional team that knew about every step of the recruitment and work processes. SevenPro showed me their entire process before starting with them. Having a low staff turnover was also important for me, and they fit that requirement. SevenPro is a professional company, and they know what they need to do to meet the client’s goals.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

Finding frontend developers for the project took too much time. Finding the right resources wasn’t easy in their area.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’ll definitely work with SevenPro again. I talked to 10 companies in Ukraine, and SevenPro was the only one that met my criteria. They reached my goals, and I’d definitely recommend them to someone else.

We needed to have some custom development done.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed a new infrastructure for our system backends from scratch. The old systems are in .NET, and the new ones are mostly in Java. They also use Apache Kafka, Apache Storm, and a few other technologies. The QA person works in the old and new systems.

We started with one developer, and have added another developer, a QA person, and a DevOps person.

Our company specializes in the placement of concrete material on a variety of construction sites utilizing hydraulic concrete pumps. We also provide additional placement services such as finishing, and laser screed. My role is that of Director of Operations.

For what projects/services did your company hire SevenPro, and what were your goals?

We had originally contracted with a couple of independent developers to quickly put together a dispatch application that mirrored one we were currently using but soon would be taken offline. After utilizing their application for a year we decided we wanted to take it to the next level. We reached out to Seven-Pro to optimize, and continue to build out new features, and sections of the application. The goal is to eventually market the application to other companies within our industry.

How did you select SevenPro and what were the deciding factors?

We selected SevenPro after reviewing their work online and performing an interview over Zoom. Their team presented themselves professionally, and knowledgeable. The cost of their services was commensurate with the experience and expertise they possessed. So for us, proceeding with engaging them in the services we sought made perfect sense.

The scope of work included;

• A broad overview of our existing web application. The first step was to safely and securely provide them access to our source code. After which they took time to review, and compile improvements which they presented for approval to be developed.

New features including a dashboard, e-mail/text confirmations. The process included regularly scheduled meetings which allowed us to review progress and discuss any issues. Since we are a construction company by trade, working with SevenPro proved very valuable as they were patient, kind, and considerate as we are not experts with all the proper terms, descriptions, and knowledge on the difficulty or incremental steps required to achieve our desired end-goal. Whenever an issue arose they were very responsive, which impressed us because of the drastic time difference from which we exist.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The deliverables hitherto have worked very well and increased our efficiency with our own operation. We are hopeful to continue to develop the project to the point where we can share our hardwork with others in our industry and help other companies also streamline their operations.

Their project management was organized, efficient, and responsive. We have regularly met over zoom weekly, to go over goals, bugs, and progress. We have utilized WhatsApp effectively to communicate in real time any issues or trouble shooting.

Every company is only as good as its people. The people we have had the pleasure to deal with have been kind, considerate, and professional. I have been impressed with their availability to us for our project and their ability to solve difficult problems.

Initially we started MVP development with another team from Indonesia and expected implementing our idea into reality. But they continuously deleyed delivery and it was very difficult to communicate with them. We made a decision to switch the team to new one which will finalize the MVP and help us with the launch.

The skills and maturity of the team have been recognized from the first weeks of activity. Development started to move slightly faster.

I would say it's responsibility and openness. Engineers were skilled not only from technical point of view, but good as persons.They also did not hesitate to give personal feedback on some of the project's functions, and we even implemented some of the recommendations.
