Users must be able to create accounts, create listings by uploading product files and media, browse listings and purchase products One key deliverable was implementing a 3D model viewer users could evaluate products before making a purchase.

The marketplace is functioning as planned, real users are being onboarded successfully, and products have successfully been listed.

Items were delivered on time. The team quickly identified issues and rectified them immediately. They are always open to suggestions and will evaluate the pros and cons of each method clearly before making decisions.

I'm the founder of iFloorPlan, a web app originally built with Adobe Flash. The app allows registered users to create an interactive floor plan for the purpose of property marketing. iFloorPlan combines images and floor plans to create a virtual tour where property shoppers can view images by clicking a marker on the floor plan.

For what projects/services did your company hire Scaleup Consulting Australia, and what were your goals?

When Adobe Flash was no longer going to be available as a browser plugin, we needed to look to newer technologies and recreate our popular browser app. We were also looking to partner with a technology company to grow our business. We started our rebuild with another company but we found the progress too slow and frustrating due to a lack of transparency and communication.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We approached Jayen of Scaleup Consulting via LinkedIn after reading online profiles. After a period of talking about our app, the way forward, ideas for interface improvements and relaunch, we came to understand that Scaleup Consulting had a lot to offer us. A network of experienced developers lead by Jayen but also a marketing team and the energy to give to our business. As our relationship evolved, we agreed to terms for a partnership.

We already had a basic app when Scaleup Consulting took over. They found the app in a poor position. The team immediately worked to create a new development environment. We already had designs in Figma. They continued the development in Django and React. In consultation with Jayen we were able to improve the design and implement several improvements as work went on.

Within a few months we were able to relaunch our app and migrate our customers to the new app. Feedback has been 100% positive. Lead by Scaleup Consulting, we are now developing a brand new app using Firebase. The interface is totally redesigned and work is well under way.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

With tech lead, Jayen, the development team working on iFloorPlan has at the most busy times has been 4-5 developers and 3 marketing consultants. Using Trello, all developers take cards to work on and refer to myself and Jayen for clarification and sometimes work in teams of two.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Existing customers have given us positive feedback on the new interface and say that their customers are impressed with the overall final product - an interactive floor plan of the properties they are selling or leasing. We have added new customers too.

Communication is mainly via Mattermost and Trello. At times of peak development we use Zoom to discuss the next stage. Scaleup Consulting Australia was responsive and attentive at all times. I feel very much involved in decision making and enjoy the robust discussions we have on all three platforms. The big difference for me is the transparency of communications. Being involved in the company and talking with everyone involved in Mattermost threads or by DM is really refreshing.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Scaleup Consulting have bought a new energy to our business. From product development to implementation to marketing. I feel less like a customer demanding changes than a part of a team working to create a great product. As I said before, the communication is free flowing and responsive. The rate of work is excellent and I feel for the first time that iFloorPlan has a solid tech backing and a great future.

No, I have to say I am really impressed and have no complaints.

We were initially advised by an ‘experienced’ developer that to build our product would require 5 full time developers and close to a million in funding. Thankfully we knew Jayen and Scaleup from some previous work and asked for his advice. We told him about our product and goals and from the first conversation it was clear he clearly understood the task and he was going to be an invaluable asset moving forward.

The quality of work and the project manager is a highly skilled developer who can provide knowledgeable advice on individual tasks, which significantly speed up the speed of deployment and saved us significant costs.

We launched a very complex product in a short period of time, so it naturally had bugs throughout, but they took an active approach by waiting for us to highlight the issues and instead actively used the site and logged and fixed these.

Our project was relatively unique where scaleup will either do screen share programming or be physically present in our office. The prinicple Jayen is a superstar when it comes to our tech stack and was very efficient and timely for creating and depolying code.
