Lauderdale Marine Center is a marine service center specializing in boats that are from 80 feet up to 180 feet. I’m president of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Savage Global Marketing?

We acquired the company in 2015 with a very dated website, so we decided to build a completely new one.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed the website from scratch including content, graphics, and the complete site. We let them know what we wanted and gave them an outline of the content that we wanted on each page. They developed the content and then gave it to us for edits. They needed to work with existing photography we had and they did a nice job with that. The people writing the content were not knowledgeable on the marine industry, so we had to help them with terminology. They created the content for the website but we’ve used it for collateral material such as brochures that we take to boat shows. They also produced 2 videos for us for an exhibit at a boat show.

How did you come to work with Savage Global Marketing?

They did creative work for one of our tenants and they introduced us to them. When we decided we were going to rebuild the website, we had a PR firm we were dealing with. We gave Savage an opportunity to give us a quote and give us a proposal, and that convinced us they could do a better job than the other firm.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The feedback in general has all been very positive. When looking at where we were previously and where we are now, we’ve over doubled our website traffic. Our income in 2016 was a significant increase over 2015. We’re convinced that a big part of that was the marketing efforts we had.

How did Savage Global Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Chris, the principal of the company, was very hands on. Our interaction was at least twice a week throughout the process of building the website. They met all the deadlines that were set for them.

What did you find most impressive about Savage Global Marketing?

They’re very knowledgeable about driving traffic to a website. In our industry, because we deal with bigger boats, the website is more about enforcing the brand and not so much sales.

We needed to get a better Google presence through marketing, SEO, videos, and other initiatives.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Savage Global Marketing built our website from scratch and continues to maintain it. It features private customer profiles through which they can track the progress of the work. Savage Global Marketing also worked on our SEO, providing pictures and content for the site, our blog, our Constant Contact campaign, and our other online collateral. They have developed our YouTube and Facebook pages, as well as anything else related.

Our content can vary in scope and is usually related to our current work. Savage Global Marketing has made videos on-site, which are edited and posted on our behalf. Savage Global Marketing built our new company video (for which they wrote the script), as well as other ones, including drone footage. Everything featured our actual team, so there were no actors involved.

Savage Global Marketing built our website based on our pictures and general direction, handling all other aspects of the work.

We get a lot of engagement from YouTube, Google, and Facebook, from the regular videos which we post twice a week. Our clients have said that we have a beautiful and informative website.

They've done everything in our agreement. I haven't had a problem with their team. The hiccups came from our side of the work not being on-time.

They have been good to deal with, instead of giving us long response times.

No. I would just suggest they stay ahead of the curve.

We wanted to have a new website. We had a mom-and-pop website that I had created a few years back, and we needed something more robust.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We pretty much scrapped the entire website and Savage Global Marketing built something from the ground up for us. They made it a much more professional website where everything transitioned nicely like a big company, and they built our services page. 

As a contractor, we like to showcase our work, so the team put that together and showcased the work that we do, which was one of the main concerns we had.  They also wrote all the content for the website.

We’ve worked with about five teammates, and we also have a project manager.

We are in Fort Lauderdale and we were looking online for reputable marketing companies. Savage Global Marketing popped up with good reviews. We had seen on Clutch that they were previously rated, which was one of the factors that led to our decision.

The project started around December 2019, and we are still working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We got our final website back yesterday for comments and it looks fantastic. They helped organize our wireframes and made it look like a professional website. 

It is much cleaner and much easier for users who are looking for our services to be able to maneuver through it. I think the team also did a phenomenal job with content writing.

How did Savage Global Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

They are fantastic, and they communicate well. The team always lets us know at what stage they are, and they constantly following up. Savage Global Marketing does everything digitally so we get the proofs through their portal. It’s very seamless, to be honest.

We communicate via phone, text, and email. For the website design and commenting, they have an online tool where I can log in and put my comments in so that they can address them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive aspect is that Savage Global Marketing was able to understand our concept and image we wanted to show after meeting with us and discussing the image our brand wanted to portray, They also put in their two cents on how to further improve it and how to further appeal to our customer base, which is what really makes them stand out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you act quickly. I tended to take a little bit of time reviewing the documents and the proofs that they had sent me. If you want a fast and flawless process, make sure that you don’t fall behind on the review process and commenting.
