What challenge were you trying to address with Sancrisoft?

We needed help with mobile and web app development. I needed a partner that could flex resources and provide us with that same flexibility. I also wanted to work with a vendor that asked questions and not only worked with what was in writing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sancrisoft has been helping us with mobile and web app development. They've used Next.js and Contentstack for the project.

We initially embedded them into our team in a staff augmentation approach. They participated in the discovery process to understand the work coming their way from a development perspective. They engaged with our tech leads and other internal developers and worked based on the direction from the product team and our tech leads.

So far, Sancrisoft has been involved in our design reviews and provided feedback on feasibility and what's possible given the APIs we must integrate. They’ve collaborated with our customers to adjust the API web services or microservices.

We’ve worked with 3–4 senior React Native developers and one lead developer.

It was mainly referral and previous work. I had a positive experience working with them at a previous agency. I knew they had the skill set and quality of work needed to execute a high-stress, fast-turn, need-to-pivot project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Sancrisoft has helped us save time and money and develop faster. They’ve allowed us to deliver on truncated timelines due to delays from clients or additional scope added to a project. They’ve also helped us increase our velocity and met our expectations from a quality perspective.

Overall, Sancrisoft has definitely met our expectations, brought thought leadership, and challenged us in the right way. They genuinely feel like an extension of our team.

How did Sancrisoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Sancrisoft’s project management has been excellent. They deliver work on time and on budget and communicate well with us. We've used Jira, Slack, and Notion throughout the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their documentation. However, they’ve gotten better at it.

They’ve taken our feedback to heart and implemented it well. If we’ve ever had a resource that we don’t feel is cutting it, we can have an honest conversation with them about what’s working and what isn’t. They can re-source with the right person. Sancrisoft is very responsive and open to feedback.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t take them away from me. Treat Sancrisoft like they’re part of your team, not a vendor, and you’ll get more value from them.

We needed support in developing custom applications, backend integrations, frontend applications, and mobile apps.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Across our ten-year partnership, Sancrisoft has developed custom applications, backend integrations, frontend applications, and mobile apps. They have also provided staff augmentation services.

Our typical process involves scheduling a call to explain the project, sending Sancrisoft the documents via email or uploading them to a secure server, and then having follow-up calls. Once we agree on the project cost or hourly rate, we sign a contract. Occasionally, we simply shake hands and continue since we already have a blank NDA agreement.

Sometimes, we give them access to our Jira so that they can rewrite or resolve tickets and create documentation as we progress with the project. Their team has worked in different areas, including databases, SQL, React, TurnKey, Golang, and C#. Currently, the team provides maintenance services and handles needed updates.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 3–4 people from Sancrisoft's team, including a senior developer acting as a project manager. I communicate mainly with him.

We’ve also used the team's staff augmentation services, where we’ve had a person for less than 20 hours a week for maintenance and other tasks. In fact, we've used many different work structures.

We found Sancrisoft through a referral. They came across as knowledgeable. Every project has changes in requirements, and we found them very flexible, so we engaged them.

We’ve invested around $500,000.

We started working together in January 2016, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Over time, Sancrisoft has acted like our own team. We wouldn’t be able to respond to many projects without them. They communicate everything that’s going on and immediately raise any challenges. They also let us know if there will be a delay or change in scope. Overall, we have a good relationship with them.

How did Sancrisoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Sancrisoft delivers work on time and within budget. Moreover, they’re very good at project management and keep us on top of things. I want to underscore that the communication has been amazing. We primarily communicate with them through Slack, Zoom, Jira, and email, although we once communicated via Basecamp. We also use Google Drive for documents.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sancrisoft is knowledgeable, willing to listen to our needs, and, as I mentioned, very flexible and accommodating. The experience has been without issues; that's why we love them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, they have a little challenge with the language barrier because all our clients are in the US, but it’s no longer an issue.

Be upfront and transparent, and you can expect the same from them.

I am the CEO of Xennial Digital. We are a virtual reality and augmented reality company. We recently separating from a global company to become our own entity.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sancrisoft?

Our company focuses on content development and the frontend experience for our customers. We don’t have an internal team that does the backend work such as the web portals for our clients for admin. Therefore, we needed a third-party vendor to support backend development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sancrisoft is like an extension of our team. Whenever we have a project where we need a team to do the backend databases, and all the things that are behind the scenes of data capture and analytics, we partner with them.

They are great at a variety of technologies. They are very good with cloud systems like AWS, setting up all the cloud systems as well as with other technologies such as React Native. We do mobile work for some of our clients, and they help with databases and all the backend infrastructure needed to create all the portals.

What is the team composition?

It varies. We usually use four to five people from their team depending on the different projects that we have going at the same time.

How did you come to work with Sancrisoft?

I had been working through another person who was doing work with the team at Sancrisoft. Once we split from the global company, I went directly to them.

I would say we’ve spent between $80,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together for at least seven or eight years, and we have been working more directly for the last two years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Internally, they helped us create a platform. Without them, it would have been difficult to do. 

The quality of their work is excellent. When we deliver projects where the Sancrisoft team is involved, we get a lot of praise around the level of quality as well as the performance of the applications.

How did Sancrisoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They are pretty adaptable which is great. They adapt to any project management tool that we throw at them. Sometimes our clients come with their own project management tools, and we just embed them into that process. I would say their level of patience is great, and they are also bilingual which is great for us as we have some clients in Latin America. They are very good at communicating in both English and Spanish. 

They are also extremely responsive. They take the time to get on the calls, they are very good at researching, and they meet our requirements. I don’t think we have ever given them a task that they weren’t able to accomplish. There are so many incredible qualities about that team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I would say the performance and quality of their work are what stand out the most to me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have been extremely satisfied with them. They have their own strengths and core capabilities.

They have their own business plans and their own strategy, so I would say there isn't anywhere they could improve based on the experience I have had so far. Hopefully, their business continues to grow, and they continue to expand their team because they are very good at what they do.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sancrisoft supports our web development work whenever we have year-long projects or small-scope projects for clients. They work underneath our in-house tech lead, UX team, and design team.

Their team has built an app on React Native and Node.js. They set up and utilize a Mongo database that we use in-house. They also have worked with the API for our HubSpot CMS in a larger project. Lastly, they provide development expertise in AWS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript across the board.

We work with 3–5 web engineers at any given time.

How did you come to work with Sancrisoft?

We’ve dabbled in offshore collaboration for years. We were looking for someone who was closer to us that shared our time zone while still charging an affordable rate. I used Clutch to put together a deck of vendors in Colombia and interviewed each one based on criteria. After that, we sent them the requirements and code samples over Bitbucket and GitHub. Our tech director liked Sancrisoft’s work the best. They also seemed super eager and flexible about the project as well.

We spend about $60 per hour.

The partnership started at the end of 2018 and is ongoing.

Sancrisoft is a trustworthy and dependable crew that we’ve been able to build a team on. They’re not coding superstars, but their prices are fair, and their worth ethic is solid.

We use Jira for everything and send communications through Twilio, and they’ve plugged into our systems. They’ve never missed a deadline. However, Sancrisoft could probably use some extra staff, such as a delivery manager or a client services person.

Now that I’m juggling multiple projects, they could do better at having a single point of contact to let me know what their progress is, what vacation days are coming up. Having that touchpoint that only works with me would be helpful.
