I’m first and foremost a musician, and the owner and director of a record label where I release original music. I’m also an online entrepreneur with 30 million views and several hundred thousand subscribers on YouTube.

What challenge were you trying to address with CLV Technologies?

I sell educational guitar courses and I wanted CLV Technologies to develop an app that would better facilitate and apply the concepts that come with practicing the guitar.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The work that I’ve been doing with CLV Technologies is the development of an in-depth guitar educational app. The process involves me designing the interface and recommending functionalities they can implement. They would then send a version where we would test and revise it to make sure it’s working the way it should.

The app is developed for both the Android and iOS platforms, but we have plans to implement a browser version for desktop users.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with Umar (CTO) and two other people on the backend.

How did you come to work with CLV Technologies?

We got in touch with them through Upwork, and what made me partner with them was their personality and pleasant approach. When I contacted them, I just felt like I was going to think less and reduce the stresses of developing an app.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent around $8,000–$10,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

The ongoing partnership started in March 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of the app has been fantastic. They always accurately deliver on their tasks and if they missed anything, they’re more than happy to make the necessary changes. I always feel listened to and the development has been top-notch all around.

How did CLV Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m not really definite with the deadlines, and there was a point when I wasn’t demanding to finish the app by a certain number of days — as a result, it has taken them longer to develop it. However, that’s partly my fault as I didn’t initially clarify any deadlines. For this new section of the development however, we’ve established the timeframes and we’ve had no issues so far.

We mostly communicate through WhatsApp, email, and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Personally, I’m impressed with their patience. They’re dealing with a complex area that they’re unfamiliar with, but they still manage to provide me with the results I want. I’m also a perfectionist, so I’m constantly going back to them until everything is perfect, and they’ve taken that responsibility without any complaints.   

Our continued collaboration is a testament to how the process is going, and it has been a really good experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I genuinely can’t think of anything because I’ve really had a good experience working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise going into the partnership with a very clear idea of what you want, and they will do their best to understand and implement your requirements.

Salvay lead the development on a web2 version of a kart racing game and interfaced with our blockchain development team to integrate the game, assets, and rewards in blockchain and web3.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a functioning game called Moon Karts where players can buy assets, race, and earn rewards.

We met weekly and then on top of that met when there was more intense interfacing work between teams.
We've had a good partnership and they're able to navigate around deadlines and key milestones.

It's an easy relationship to manage. Their leadership is bright, and the teams are highly functional. We're working on more than one project with them now.

The products could use more testing more frequently, but that may be possiblity related to the timelines we give them.

We are a mobile games company, developing and distributing Apps for more than 10 years.

For what projects/services did your company hire CLV Technologies, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a new game using cross-platform technology, specifically Unity 2D. After reviewing and testing quite a few companies, we've decided to move forward with CLV Technologies.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have created a POC project so we can test several companies. After reviewing the result of the POC we've chosen CLV. Our main factors were the quality of code and the quality of the app, from the user's perspective.

It's a mobile game, consisting of about 15 screens. We wanted to make it available on both Google Play and Apple's AppStore but wanted one code base. The chosen technology was Unity.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our current measurable outcome is the quality of the app. As the founder of the company, and also as a mobile apps developer with 10+ years of experience I was very pleased with the outcome, from both the quality of the app for the end-user and the quality of the code.

We've communicated mostly using Slack. The communication was very good, quick, reliable, and very cooperative.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their project management style and the quality of the product were outstanding. They ask the right questions, they raise flags when needed, and they give good feedback on specifications that are not 100% clear.

Nothing that I can think of.
