I’m a small business consultant and the general manager of an online feed company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Romain Berg?

We wanted to be an e-commerce company but none of us knew anything about it. We had a website, but it was a plain, brochure platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Romain Berg managed the project top-to-bottom. They upgraded our website and applied a WooCommerce plug-in.

Then, their team implemented social media and digital marketing campaigns. They advertise across platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Their team writes blogs and manages graphic design work. For example, their team created packaging.

What is the team composition?

I mostly work with Sam (Partner & COO) but we've had calls with three other people from Romain Berg. I’m unfamiliar with everyone in the background.

How did you come to work with Romain Berg?

I met Sam and Brian (Partner) at a networking event. When they launched their business, I helped them with financial systems and cash management tools. In return, their team provided my consulting business with digital marketing services. I’ve known them for years, which made them a logical choice for this project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve paid for about three months of services, which comes out to around $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We signed on with them in April 2020, and our engagement’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We haven’t launched the site yet, so it’s hard to provide metrics in this case. But internally, we’re pleased with the quality of their work and their knowledge. There isn’t a corner of the e-commerce world that they don’t know inside and out.

I mentioned that they provided digital marketing services for my consulting business. At one point, if you searched the phrase EOS integrator, I was first on the list.

I’ve referred them to all of my clients who were happy with their work. For example, I referred them to a $2 million residential service business. They initially spent about $2,000 a month with Romain Berg. Now, they’re up to $4,000 a month. 

How did Romain Berg perform from a project management standpoint?

Sam manages the project for us. He’s personable but also makes sure that everyone’s always moving. Romain Berg quickly turns around tasks. Their team runs faster than us, so they’re waiting on us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve never worked with a firm that understands e-commerce and digital marketing as well as Romain Berg. Anything we come across, they’ve seen before and know how to deal with it. Their expertise is solid. I’m always learning from them.

It’s also easy to work with them. They’re driven and want to meet our goals. Their team pushes us, but not in a bad way.  They keep after us to make sure that the project doesn’t lag.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If there are, I haven’t seen them yet.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Reach out to them when you’re ready because they’re going to go fast. As soon as I found out what this startup was going to be, I reached out to Sam. I connected him and the company's founder. Once she agreed to work with Romain Berg, they took off. I was probably early in connecting them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Romain Berg?

A hairbrush company in Chicago contracted with me to redo all their marketing, including a website that was in terrible shape. I’ve contracted with Romain Berg to collaborate with me and the client to completely rebuild the website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They are creating an SEO-friendly platform, and will move into social media. I had a grand vision, but they came back and told me that we needed to focus on updating the site, incorporating a few of the things, now, and get it up and running with new graphics. Then we’ll come back and do everything else when we can. We laid out the strategy and how we wanted the site to look. They do not profess to be designers, which I’m very pleased with. I’m working with another team for graphic design as well.

We set keyword targets and their blog team creates content.

What is the team composition?

I work with at least two bloggers,  Craig (Director of Client Strategy), Sam (Partner & COO), Brian (Partner) and a programmer

How did you come to work with Romain Berg?

A few years ago, I was working with a direct marketing agency on a government program. In that process, I stumbled across Romain Berg, called them up, met with them, and decided to work with them. They were instrumental in helping us develop a new web site campaign for the US Marine Corps. Since then, I’ve kept them on my roster of partners.

How much have you invested with them?

They directly bill the client and they’re charging $3,800 per month ($11,400 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working on this project since April 2020 and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’re outstanding in terms of programming, web development, and SEO. I couldn’t be happier with their work.

They’ve done two blogs so far, and the client has changed about three words in a 1,000-word piece, so that speaks to the quality of their content.

How did Romain Berg perform from a project management standpoint?

It has been excellent. They’re quick at what they do. They’re lightyears ahead of other development companies. We Zoom every week, usually Tuesday and Friday. They provide regular updates so I can share that with my client. They hold my feet to the fire as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re good, honest people and put their clients at the heart of their business. They’re not a cookie-cutter operation.

No, I’ll let you know if I find anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ask the right questions for what your business is all about. They listen to me and understand my business, but no two businesses are the same.

Guns N Hoses is an annual fundraiser that is hosted by Lino Lakes Volunteers in Public Safety (LLVIPS) and is a hockey game in which police officers face off against fire fighters in an epic battle for bragging rights all while we raise money to support first responders.
